I read with interest on another thread written by a fan who met JP at Exeter that even Poortvliet is worried Lowe will sell some of our youngsters behind his back. Doesn't sound like a healthy relationship to me.

Is Chairman Lowe Mk II any different to Chairman Lowe Mk I?
tiger replied to TopGun's topic in The Saints
AS Lowe says in the article "everyone makes mistakes" -
Nick take it from me John has been "invited" to find another club. He will be allowed to go for no fee as Rupert just wants him off the wage bill. This has come from (virtually) the horses mouth.
-
You have a point but one of Lowe's faults last time he did not react until it was too late. The autumn Wigley was in charge loads of fans saw it was not working but Lowe stubbornly failed to see it himself (just a blimp he said). Having a plan B with the slightly unhinged Rupert around is a sensible tactic. If John goes - quite possible - we simply cannot rely on David McG who if you remember Burley farmed out to Port Vale last season and he failed to impress.
-
Fairly inevitable I guess but for Watford to have more cash to splash than us you realise just how far we have fallen. If John goes (he has been told he can go if a club matches his wages) we will be very lightweight upfront.
-
I hear the away side have a highly thought of young manager?
-
Don't often agree with you but I do here. Once Burley "falls out" with a player there's no going back apparently.

Lowe and WH Ireland: Why the connection is pivitol for our club

If only Lowe could display such magnaminious qualities! -
As the originator of the "Wilde and Lowe not there" threads last night I should like to offer an apology to you and all the other posters on this forum who were consequently mislead. My information came from a friend at the match who spoke to some Exeter officials/stewards, who it seems were under the impression neither Chairmen were at the match. If I was Chairmen of Southampton FC I would attend as many matches as humanly possible because I would feel it an honour and indeed a duty. I would like to think yourself and Rupert feel the same. Again, my apologies for any distress caused.

Shame Rupes and Mikey Wilde were not there to celebrate
-
I really can't understand it - or are there sinister goings on. It is very relevant that our 2 chairmen were not at the game tonight and yet my two previous threads about it have been locked and I have recieved an unpleasant pm from one of the mods. I doubt you will hear from me anymore because I have a feeling I will be banned but I have serious doubts about the integrity of this forum after tonight.
-
Well Lowe is picking the team so you would think he would watch what he picked.
-
Err no but I would have done if I was the Chairman
-
Sorry Adrian I think it is very relevant. If its a too far for our Chairmen then how can we expect the fans and the players to make the trip?
-
You would have thought one of them could have made the effort.
-
Crouch is there. Not a fan of Leon's particularly but it is good one of our ex Chairmen or present Chairmen has made the effort.
-
Quiet? Determined? I see no proof of either. He is quieter than he was before true but then again thats not hard. Determined to protect his investment - Yes. Don't be fooled by him, he is slightly barking after all.
-
Perish the thought master Bates - methinks you'd better put those lad's mags to one side.
-
The man himself via a friend.
-
Having also "come accross Mr Lowe" on a couple of occasions I think you are spot on with your analysis and until he goes Saints will never quite be the same for me.
-
Crouch went by himself to Cardiff and was on the terraces and he is going to Exeter, driving himself as he has his licence back. Why are you interested?
-
The reason going up will be good for the club (even if we come straight back down) is we should be able to address our mounting debts and it means we will be more competitive in the CCC. At present we are behind the likes of Ipswich, Coventry, Norwich, QPR, Stoke, Hull etc etc all of whom we were "superior" to financially, just a few seasons ago. I remember loaning Coventry Crainie and thinking how far they had "fallen" borrowing our reserves/youngsters. Now we snap up Plymouth rejects.
-
Amen to that - at least RC posts counterbalance the happy clappy "we are going to walk this League because Rupert is playing the kids" brigade.
-
Like the phrase "affordable football" - sums it all up really
-
He will be working in www media in SW London working on Premiership clubs
