  1. Phil, you and Keith Richards must be the only two men on the planet that still use that word in that context. It's quite cute.
  2. Under Rupert Lowe? I doubt it very much, he's not the type of character to be comfortable under the incoming regime. I do stress that this is all just my opinion, but quite often when someone in the football world makes it clear that they want to stay, it actually transpires that what they actually mean is 'come and get me'. You may of course know those involved or be close to the inner workings at the club, but I really do not think that the two would have got on so taking that into account and accepting the fact that Rupert was back, it's probably best that they split amicably (ish).

  5. Catweazle with Touchwood the toad. Local connection too.
  6. Pancake, on the Classic Rock website it says that they have an 8 page and says "The Wall – the album that destroyed Floyd" I have never heard this before, I'm not trying to avoiud buying the mag, but I am giving Google a break, would you mind explaining what this story is about please?
  7. Why are we here?
  8. Talking of nonsensical chitter chatter, would this be the same Number 1 Golfer who supports the Tiger Woods Foundation at Aspen CHRISTIAN College? Yep that Chrstian one William.
  9. In our house it's called 'Pizza Day' Deep Pan, Crisp and even.
  10. Hope we get eastleigh in Round 2 even more now.
  11. Don't hide Colin, even stupid people are entitled to an opinion on here.
  12. Was this the episode when he had to borrow Sally Thomsett's tights? Did they not break down in Cemetary Road? Anyone remember the Hedge End Conservative Club 'Strippers Scandal' in the NOTW? Also, I know it's not Soton based, but Pebble Mill (at one) was all there was when you were off school with a poorly tummy, with regular appearances by Kenny ball and His Jazzmen. They did play OWTSGMI, so I suppose tenously linked to us.

  14. Sometimes we need to dig a little deeper than "where's the nearest Wetherspoons"? and as for Ikea, although I do personally quite like some of their furniture items, they have made a beautiful relic of our heritage look cheap and nasty. Can you imagine the outcry if they did that to battersea Power Station? Visit one of the most important aerodromes in this countries history, "a gateway to the Empire": http://www.croydonairport.org.uk/ A very nice yet modest building still exists on the main road through. I say modest, that is if you ignore the great big De Havilland Heron sat next to it. It is a very nice building though compared to some of the ugly carbunkles that they erect nowadays.
  15. Nigel Pearson would have turned down a genuine offer to stay and work with Rupert Lowe in my opinion. Whataevr the reasons behind the chamges at boardroom level, they were a complete mis-match. I believe that Nigel would have had advice from his friends within the game and furthermore had some fairly decent offers from other (better suited) clubs, he would have been head-hunted anyway It would not have worked.
  16. I accept the view of resting players, but whenever I have been to a match and seen an under-strength squad I cannot help but feel a little disappointed. I think we should always play our strongest, fittest side. Get that winning habit back and get it back quick. We were starting to anhihilate teams imo and would have embarassed Orient really badly had we got into the game 10 minutes earlier. I want Saints to be in the next round draw of every competition that we enter. More games, more gate receipts must surelt mean AP can make a better case for more of that money to be invested in the squad. Did someone not post a link the otherweek to a JPT rule that stipulates that we are bound to play more first choice players than the rules of both the FA and League Cups too? In Al we trust.
  17. Leapt like a salmon, see here on 2:40:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2Oat4gBDrs Some good goals and some really big names on the pitch that day, Kevin showed the true Spirit of Southampton that day and we almost made it. Cheers Kev. Good luck to you and your loved ones.
  18. I promise you Will that I am not trying to be 'clever' I wouldn't know what 'clever' is if I am honest with you. For what it is worth, I have a very tough day ahead. I have to have a tooth out and I am scared of dentists, I am genuinely scared of them. Wish me luck.
  19. If only you would spend a bit more time reading it Will, read it a bit slower, read it over and over and over and over and over and over. Try to realise that people want to help you, people like you who are as angry as you appear to be, but then they do say that there are none so deaf as those that Will not listen.
  20. Wow! That reads like you have just wrapped a metaphoric golf club around dd's head. I am lost for words mate. I know that your handicaps good but have you checked your bp recently? If you need a hug we could meet up. Might I venture a guess as to aht the tissues might be for? A frantic, angry, blood-vessel bursting cyber **** perhaps? And every time, what have you done, what have you done Sonny Jim? I can't really believe that you are an aggresive person Will, I really can't see it. As for standing up for yourself? If that really is your perception of what you are doing, then I am sorry to break it to you like this, but from where i am sat you actually fall, every time you fall. What can I say, you are not a winner. A try'er most definitley, but a winner, I think not. Define winner for me Will. Aimed at who that wa saimed at, that is a really cheap shot in my very humble opinion Will. It actually saddens me to inform you of this young man, but maybe you could take a break from your 'How To Putt Like A Tiger' manual and try a bit of self analysis of your grip on reality rather than your grip on your golf clubs, I think you may find that you have some pretty deep rooted issues that need addrssing, and this is in your own interest and not aimed to anger you. Have a word with yourself and consider some preofessional help perhaps. You may find it helps your game too in the long run. Ermmmm being bored would requre you to have nothing to occupy your mind and as for "doing what I'm told", have you ever done that? What he said. a very clever and perfectly timed punchline to this saga. Will, I know that you want to reach the top of your sport, how would you feel if it did not happen? If your best game is behind you? How would you deal with it? It may be the right time to consider going back to a time when you played for fun, do you remember 'fun'? HTH
  21. Laughing at people with disabilities = hilarious. Where were you when Jongleurs needed you? You must be proud of yourself. When you laugh yourself to sleep tonight, just before you drift off, think about this: there is absolutely, ABSOLUTELY, no reason on this earth why you will not acquire a disability yourself tomorrow. It could be a car accident, it could be a stroke, it could be the first hand tremor that heralds the onset of Parkinsons, it could even be that you have a brain haemorrhage whilst walking your dog and end up having to trade him in for a Guide Dog, Dog. It could even happen in your sleep fella! How ironic would that be if your final post ever on the internet, your epitaph, was this thread? We all make error's of judgement fella, and maybe on reflection you will see that you have just made one yourself. have a word with yourself, please. There has been a lot of talk on here recently about 'decency' and and what is or is not acceptable. This place is certainly not getting better, I despair.
  22. So, you would have been fine with Marcus shipping us up the road to Micheldever chenging our colours, badge, and name then would you dd? It's not 'holier than though' it's just opinion, and I am sure that you too hold strong opinions on certain subjects too. What for example is your opinion on female managers of Football League teams? Or female's taking up any other traditionally male roles? Why are you so quick to dismiss others valid opinions with silly comments like that. What is your view on the MK Dons existing in the same arena as Saints? Is it fair, do you care?
  23. His fight with Tony Wilson 1989 atSouthampton Guildhall where Wilson's Mum attacked Steve with her stilleto was quite a nasty affair out of the ring too. The Wilson supporters and family were subjected to relentless racist chanting and having things thrown at them. When the fight was awardedd to Wilson, he was lucky to get back to the dressing room alive according to some accounts. Riot ploice were called to restore order and ensure the Wilson family had safe exit. Mrs Wilson said that she had lost it after the abuse had gotten too much for her to bear apparently. Quite hard to find the videobut it is out there if you search for 'steve mccarthy guildhall 1979'.
  24. Vases full of flowers on top of the TV.
  25. Sounds like The Hamster is right then. How insulting to genuine supporters of genuine clubs, that the very foundations of the club that they took over, meant absolutely nothing to them. They should be ashamed. And just as Welsh teams should not be a part of the English football scene, neither should in my opinion, the MK Dons.
