Nigel Quashie anyone? I think he's currently on loan at Franchise FC from West Ham, not sure of the terms though.

A very interesting conversation appears to be opening up on John Beech's own site recently. I understand that he is a Pompey fan who lectures at Coventry Uni (couls be wrong). http://footballmanagement.wordpress.com/2009/12/30/how-much-more-benefaction-can-pompey-take/ Any programme collectors down the road might want to stock up on Saturday.

Well spotted, however the club did promise to address the fan at the radio Solent forum who raised the isssue of wheelchair users accessing standard layout coaches. This is imho another example of the club delivering what we the fans are asking for. It is Millwall who should be embarassed by this, as it would appear that Saints have a higher capacity coach than they do within their whole away section for wheelchair users! Astounding in this day and age. Maybe deserves a thread on it's own? Well done saints and I would advise anyone reading this who knows any wheelchair users who might want to attend to get in early, once it becomes common knowledghe that the wheelchair accessible travel club is up and running I would predict it to be very popular, not least due to the fact that the 'enabler' who could just as well be a friend or family member can travel at the concessionary rate too. As I said already, well done Saints I am surprised this has not been heralded more publicly actually, perhaps the Echo would like to do a piece on it?

My other half has a unopened bottle of Sloe Gin that is going to receive an almighty hammering within the next couple of hours.

the thing is SAAB was a big player, but GM messed up big time because they are mass production set up. What SAAB need is a set up that knows their customer base. I would venture that this is not the end of SAAB, not by a long chalk. A prestige matque requires a prestige team to manage it. The 900 series is a decent set of wheels IN SPITE of GM, not because of GM.

begbies-traynor anyone?

A friend of mine, who is a friend of Mark Dennis says that they had a chat a couple of weeks back at St Mary's reception. I can't say what about I am afraid, but he was dresed up to the nines in his 'interview suit'. What would Dave Bassett be doing at Saints? Scouting? Coaching? PR?

A crazy decision imho, the niche brand is worth more than they realise imho. I hope a far eastern knight rides into town and takes the brand over, as people have pointed out GM have stifled a well respected brand.

Just came across this "Volunteers Needed" at Gillinghams ground tomorrow morning at 7 AM, 'bring your own shovel' and get a free ticket! http://www.gillinghamfootballclub.com/page/NewsDetail/0,,10416~1494599,00.html have we ever done this?

Let's.. It is broadly accepted that Jesus Christ (our saviour) was born 4 years BC (that's Before Christ I think!), so who are we to say it was on the 25th December? There are a number of dates that we should consider as his actual birth day.

I think you are getting confused with Easter.

Colin, here is the official 10 year gold price growth chart. Looks pretty impressive doesn't it? You and I know that gold is worth it's weight in (er) gold quite literally, but most don't realise just how much that equates to. It doesn't matter to these people that the likes of you and I won't touch them with a barge-pole, they'll get by on the thousands that are in the smelly stuff and with Christmas around the corner and kids wanting PSP's, netbooks and the like it's an emotional choice not a considered one.. These companies are basically preying on the very needy. Not that scrupulous, but then again they do say that money is the root of all evil don't they. NB, the price over the past 6 months has risen by a whopping 18-20%!!! so even if you sold at the real price in the summer you'd be well out of pocket.

'I Never Knew That About England' is a nice easy pick up, put down compendium. I have a copy in my water closet: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Never-Knew-That-About-England/dp/009190207X I think the proceeds go to the National Trust too, so a worthy cause imho.

The last time we moved house the market was buoyant and we couldn't get anyone to budge on their rates, not even for joint agency. wqhat we did get though was a shorter term contract, that was what clinched it for us. After a few weeks of viewings to no avail we gave them 7 days notice and lo and behold a whole new wave of potential buyers were found! I'm pretty sure that agents have 'friends' who bump the figures but once you have that early get out clause you have them by the round things imho. Tell them you want a 30 day contract (with a 7 day notice period).

If Grant Holt doesn't play we will win. I expect to see him on the bench and should it be tight towards the end he may come on to have a crack. Other than him we have quite a lot of strength in depth compared to a mjority of teams at this level imho.

Can't help asking this but what is the accepted way to wear tights, is it under or over the knickers? Both look wrong imho.
