To be honest June, I am not convinced that this so called 'intelligent life' even exists now, let alone beforewe arrived. We seem to only accept that which we can see with our own eyes. Until reletively recently, say 3 hundred years or so, we hadn't 'discovered' things like electricity, radiation etc, yet they were always there. I think that there are many other energies around and within us that we just need to open our minds to to 'discover' them. We seem to measure intelligence in a very subjective way which in my opinion is ergo, flawed.

I don't think that the airoplane had been invented in 1066. I could be wrong. No, I have just checked my 'boys book of everything' and I was right, the airoplne was not invented until autumn in 1259.

I think I am right in saying that the real table (ie +10 points) shows that we now only have to play one team who are above us in the rest of this season! Actually, there cannot be many teams in division 3, apart from the top two perhaps, who are in a similar position? For that reason I am feeling quite positive about not only our prospects but our progress thus far. After games like tonight's we can either stare at the pavement or look ahead, when we all wake in the morning let's use our combined positive energy to will the teram onwards and upwards.

Interesting fact: Old Speckled hen (the beer) was named after a car that was used to get around the old MG works in Abingdon. When the car was parked near to the spray shop it would get splattered with different coloured paint and became known around the town as the 'old speckled 'un', which became the 'old speckled hen'. The beer was created to celebrate MG's golden anniversary. In fact the MG story is a very interesting one, not just for car enthusiasts but for engineers in general. Tom Rolt is a good read in my opinion.

Ah, I am starting to see inside your head perhaps. "Got any salmon?" Is that the kind of question that you like to ask people?

Okay Dune how about a little ditty for absorbtion by the grey matter. You could be forgiven for dismissing this one as wubbish, but it is sung by and for young people who were very angry with the 'system' at the time. Nothing changes eh? Goes on a bit but have a listen:

I think that I am falling in love all over again.

Here you go young man: That is how you make me feel right now, how very refreshing you are. Fow what it is worth this disproves that old adage that everyone likes a drink, but no-one likes a drunk. Do you like my song for Dune, Dune?

This is the kind of thread topic that sorts the wheat from the chaff in my humble opinion. There appears to be a lot of anger around the place (Saints) still and I am not sure where it's roots lie, I am pretty confident though that it is is not football related. Football is just a convenient forum for some angry tyoes to vent their spleens. That's the norm on a match day one might argue, but on an internet forum? There is no hurry and those quoting things like 'he who aspires to mediocrity...' and all that crap are being quite insulting I believe. Time and tide wait for ne man, but AC Roma was not buily in a day. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it. by the way, re the 'wheat - chaff' bit, I reckon we shook off quite a bit of the chaff when we dropped down two leagues, perhaps not!

Demonic Possesion? Evil? Good? God? Where to start? If it (evil) does exist then there must be a reason for it's existence. If we accept Planck's theories on relativity then it could follow that evil being a force must have an opposite force acting upon it. No? If then evil exists as a counter-force to good, does it follow that it all around us and omni-present? No matter what people call it, be it Allah, God, Jehovah and no matter what the name of the religion faith is usually about being a good person and doing good things for no other reason that they are good things to do. Evil on the other hand tends to simmer below the surface and rears it's ugly head where we least expect it. I have faith, but in what I could not say, I don't need to say what I have faith in but I know it is good.

Ask him he will be returning the favour to his Mum on Mother's day by plying her with chocolate. According to Craig his Mum and nan did this to make up for the lack of afffection in his life.

Nature v Nurture... a toughie, yet surely somewhere between the two we can find each and every trait and charateristic of our make-up? If a medical condition effecting an organ such as the heart, lung or kidney can be passed through our DNA, then there can be little doubt that the brain too contains traces of our past, good and bad. Within any family group their can be so many variables that even if nurture was the key the outcomes are quite literally infinite. No-one can honestly say that they treat each of their children the same as each other, it is not possible. Things such as 'only child' and 'middle child' syndrome do exist and for that reason Venables' and Thompson's siblings and parents can't seriously be brought into this debate in my opinion in much the same way that Mary-Ann Bell's family were rightly left alone as much as can be expected. I believe that we as a people have a deep rooted need to hate the perpetrators of these heinous crimes, yet, if we accept that there is 'good' in this world then we have to accept that there is eveil too. Now that is quite hard to comprehend and thus 'good' people can find it hard to deal with 'evil' acts. Pun intended here: The devil is in the detail when someone kills another human being and anyone who has read the deatils of this case can be forgiven for thinking that something very surrel happened that day. I believe that the Bulger killing involved an evil force which may still be present, killing Venables and /or Thompson would not destroy that evil force. Just my opinions, no offence intended to anyone.

That's uncalled for dickyhale, I have never been rude to you. U am after all only putting across just one person'smpoint of view. I am admittedly urging others to think a little beyond people cashing in on our big day. They are the real JCL's. No offence to you personally

I can't quite put my finger on it, but why am I so looking forward to playing Huddersfield. They are the next team who's spirit we need to reak. A pivotal game.

Burnley v Pompey Sat 27th Feb 2010. Burnley to WIN. Is that not a licence to print money?

Pedants are he worst thoguh, I was drawn more to your crap spelling than to what you were trying to say. To us pedants, spelling is all.

For whatever reason the teams above us are above us. That is all that matters. -10, bad start, no pre-season yad yada yada, the only game that matters is the NEXT game. Let's start practising our vocal skills next Saturday.

This is why Simeon Jackson should have been brought in. Still not too late thoguh imho. Jackson scored another yesterday to get Gills first win in 11 games. He'd been left on the bench for 60 minutes, along with Dennis Oli - they ahve been getting 'restless' I hear. They completely changed the game when they cam on as a double substitution. New boy Dickson had a better game than Jackson though, very good workrate apparently. Maybe seen as a good workhorse replacement for Jackson when he surely leaves this summer. Get in NOW Alan.

I have seen far too many before me face the wrath of the TSW Massiv to put my head above the proverbial 'parapet' . I only heard this 2nd hand. The text simply said "this SA link HAS LEGS". Draw you own conclusions, I am just putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with........

Why is Pompey 'a fantastic football club'?
Big John replied to Legod Third Coming's topic in The Lounge
But even the most serious anti-capitalist footie fan would choose many other clubs to bring the guillotine down on before Pompey would get to the front of the queue at the gallows. They ain't THAT bad. Let them live I say. -
I am so tempted to open my mouth about what lenghts the club are going to make our day at Wembley as pleasurable FOR ALL saints fans, I really wish I could let you into what I know, please give your business to the club. Come on people, this is your chance to give something back FFS. Let's pump a bit of money into our club. YOUR CLUB NEEDS YOU! I call for a boycott of Greyhouind buses. They are cashing in on YOUR Citie's success. Saints have pre-booked over 100 coaches already for us, lets make this a 100% Southampton Final. Boycott Greyhound!
