  1. Put a stop to this ridiculous free maternity and labour care. If people want to have babies, then have them at home like my mum did. Sexism at it's worst.
  2. All joking aside some of the clashes yesterday were not very nice at all. I always avoid trouble hotspots but walking back through town cutting through behind the Bargate Centre yesterday after the game I caught the end of a fight between a male saints fan and a woman from bournemouth, it was pretty disturbing and I would have intervened had it not been for the fact that the woman was getting the better of the bloke. No-one else was around and I managed to catch the last few seconds on my old mobile phone. I don't know how to get it onto the computer though, if anyone can explain in idiot speak I'll put it on here later. BJ
  3. Why not cut free dental care for kids and unemployed? If they want to waste their/our money on fizzy-pop and curly-wurly's then on their heads be it. tic
  4. Just what I've seen thus far is very good. That helium balloon (world's biggets btw) is great. Great music, song and dance and culturally a great venue. In many ways India is the jewel in the commonwel;th crown imo but having never been there I know nought of the poverty ridden side of the country, which cannot be that nice and doubt that we'll see it represented here. I once saw Ravi Shankar and was mesmerised if not a little bored, then he apologised to the audience saying that he would not have time to complete the original 'set' as the 'tune-up' had taken so long! He hadn't even started!
  5. Looking forward to a good games. I predict that we will see a resurgence of the Vuvazela too, I can hear the odd one listening to the opening ceremony right now. Is it law that they have to speak in English I wonder? Or this just a misplaced 'mark of respect' to the Queen, who ironically can't even be arsed to attend herself and sends her nutty eco-warrior son at massive cost to our nation and more importantly ;-) the environment.
  6. Question. If you could turn back the clock, at what point would you have stopped civilisation from 'progressing'? Nuclear power? Coal? Oil? Plastic bags? Radio? Television? Tinternet? Mobile phones? Microwave ovens? Gunpowder? Dynamite? PVC? Nylon? Refridgerators? Internal combustion engine? Steam engines? Air travel? Space travel? Transistors? Microchips? Obviuosly none of us on here are would give up laptops and mobile phones. I would be very disappointed if DubaiPhil decides (on the back of climate change concerns....) not to fly back for the annual forum match next May. I never ever want to get up in the morning again to light a coal fire, so central heating has to stay. I have not driven a car wiothout a radio since my old A35 so you can't take that away. I actually like microwave curries when I am in a hurry. If we are all headed for oblivion by our own doing, then surely the difference between hitting it at 100mph and (-10%) hitting it at 90mph is of no consequence whatsoever? No offence, but some people are/have been brainwashed into thinking/believing that 10:10 and any other rehash of this bull really matters. It matters not one jot. And you do not need to have an 'ology to see that what I say is true.
  7. I'm 1 of 5 and agree. Mum should have stopped at 3, my 2 younger siblings are wasters and the 2 older ones have never claimed a penny from the state. In fact one invented the one-way caps on sports drink bottles and the other saved Bryant & May a fortune by suggesting that they only put the 'striking' bit on one side of their math boxes, a few years back she also increased the sales of Head and Shoulders by adding the word 'REPEAT' after the bit that says 'RINSE' - sales increased by 43.8% over the first quarter. I know that i personally struggled to live up to their genius so what chance did the other two have! Sex, know when to stop fffs. NB My mum was the youngest of 6 girls so I would also make an allowance for my nan and grandad, then again there was a war on and they couldn't afford a scrabble board. How many of our old'uns were conceived in air-raid shelters i wonder?
  8. What sort of parent names their child Rizla Teeth? I've heard it all now!
  9. He helped me through my darkest hour and for that I am eternally grateful. Although he probably knew nothing about it at the time, I shall make a point of tapping him on the shoulder one day and buy him a beer.

  14. tbh I would much rather have saint landrew (and pilchard) back and send this kareen harrison chap to exile forever. although not familiar with his work, i do not think that people should mess with the dark arts, you never know what demons you might unleash and quite often the demon is your own so watch yourself kareen.
  15. "the referee's a scummer" from bmth raised a smile, though not as big as when we sang it back and much louder.

  23. Thanks for that Tony. serious question, do you think that you had a lucky escape last year? bearing in mind that although you read this forum nicola probably does not, although I suspect someone has his ear who may give him the occasional update, but probably a bit like the emperor's new clothes.
