My comments weren't aimed at you mate, FWIW I believe you are posting what you've heard in good faith. I was referring to the 'known' wind-up merchants (clearly not known to me until today!!). Anyways, don't let all the WUMs and negative posters on here put you off saying what you think/have heard. Some of the 'uber posters' tend to look down on posters with low post counts like us because unless you spend unhealthy amounts of time on here conducting your, meaninglees in the real world, cyber-wars/****ing contests, racking up thousands of posts you're not worthy:rolleyes: Once you've earned your 'wings' by hitting an appropriate level of posts from all your hard-fought battles on here you'll gain their respect:)

Clearly not!!! I will therefore state that I am indeed an idiot and should pay more attention to other posters styles!!! Perhaps I was naive and didn't think that grown adults would come onto a duscussion forum with the sole intention of using childlike wind-ups to fulfill their obviously dull, boring and uneventful lives. I also have a low post count so I guess by default that also makes me a plant:) An idotic plant I am then - busy day heh? (or are they by default the samrething?)

Sorry I can't take it anymore, I have to tell them - although it is hilarious!! Kadeem, Wiltshire, & anyone else who thinks that Steve Moran might be buying us - could you please read OP again and note that it is Steve Morgan - hahaha lol !!!!

Just had look at the site. Aswell as being the best striker we currently have at the club I reckon he's also got to be the bravest - based on all the pictures of him and his family enjoying days out in Skatesmouth!!! I think he's lucky that most of the natives down that way are in-bred fish fiddlers and wouldn't have recognised him - otherwise the Neanderthals would probably have kicked his head in!!
-
Agree - I reckon I saw more tackles from Saints players in the first 25 mins today that in the last 4 home games, especially Gillett and Surman. They really looked up for the fight. Their closing down and pressuring of the Swansea players was also very good today

They should also ask 'Who exactly is Kim Van Der Waals, and what is his role at the club?'

Time for some good old fashioned name dropping

Until recently my missus used to sort out Jimmy Case and his daughter's car insurance - she says he is one of the nicest blokes she has ever met, always polite and chatty with loads of funny stories. Jason Dodd tried to pull my missus one night in what is now Reflex (was The Venue at the time I think) until I 'politely' informed him that although I was a massive Saints fan I would still royally kick his head in! Remember seeing Claus and Van Gobbel in New Yorks on a Sat night after we'd beat Manure (can't remember if it was the 6-3 or the infamous grey shirt 3-1) and Ulrich was tongueing every bird in sight. This in itself isn't too outrageous but I'm sure there'd been a huge article in the Sun that morning about his personal life and how he adored his wife and kids (kid was ill/had some sort of desease or something?). I worked at the Old Oriental nightclub when I was at college and one night after we'd closed and cleaned up my boss told me to go outside and tell these 2 p#ssheads who were loitering around to move on. I duly obliged and found that they were both p#ssing all over the windows/door etc so I started to give them a right mouthful until I realised it was Claus and Doddsy! Can you imagine the uproar if that was now and 2 pro footballers were caught doing that by the NOTW? How times have changed eh, and that was only about 14yrs ago -

Bumped into MLT a few times, and as others have said, always a nice guy, very polite and always had time to talk. Used to sell the Echo and the Pink at the Dell before the game and half-time etc. so got the chance to talk to quite a few players. Tim Flowers probably has to top the list of nicest guys and always took the time to have a chat with us during his warm-up - still owes me a pair of his gloves that he promised me in his last season with us!! One of the best memories (although blo#dy scary at the time!) was before a match with the Scousers, when the Archers was still penned in. We were about 14 at the time and me and my Echo-selling mates, thinking we were hard and clever, decided to wind up the Scousers through the fence. Was hilarious seeing them getting so angry over a few kids displaying our Saints shirts, saying they were sh#t, and they were all robbers etc until one of them grabbed my mate by his shirt and started shaking him and pulling him against the fence - pretty violently! The guy was so angry it looked like he was gonna him but thankfully Flowers was quickly on hand to rescue him and inform the OB of the incident - happy days!!! -
Tell him to get on the blower then and tell Marian that we soooooo need him!!
-
Definately a legend! Anyone think we have a chance of tempting him into one last huraah with us? He says he'd stay with Skonto for a 'token amount' of money - sounds right up Rupert's street, Or is he still too injury prone? God we could do with some of his goals now
-
Keep hearing about 'communication between the Echo and the Allen camp' Can someone pls provide a link/summary etc as I haven't come across this yet and it would appear to be very interesting read? Ta

Brilliant!! Without doubt the funniest post on here since the days of Tommac! Gecko - you sir are a legend!!

Uh, did you not actually read the link at the beginning of this thread????

lol !! Funny set of emotions for me really last night - happy and sad at the same time. Happy cos Milan scored twice in the last 6 mins so the Skates didn't get argubly the greatest result ever in their history - and I wouldn't have to put up with merciless ribbing from the fish fiddlers that I work with. Sad cos of the very fact that those w#nkers down the road were actually playing AC Milan a day after we couldn't beat Plymouth at home. And I'm not even going to bother mentioning all of our other well documented problems! Bad times

Just wanted to let anyone know who's interested, or doesn't already know, that we have been unsuccessful in getting the funnel returned - but that the Dubai Royal family have given the City of Southampton the QE2's anchor as a gift!! Full story is in today's Echo http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/3933307._No_funnel__but_city_will_still_receive_a_QE2_memento/ Now before everyone starts cracking on - no I don't think that I've made this happen, but I would like to think that the exposure the group got around the world may have gone a little way towards letting her new owners know that there were people who felt strongly about having a piece of her back. So for that reason I just want to say a big thanks to Ponty for starting the thread for me, a big thanks to Dubai Phil for helping to raise the profile in Dubai, and a big thanks to anyone on here who joined the group. Oh, and yes they will also be funding and organising the transport of the anchor back to Southampton.

Thanks Ponty - you're a true gent!!

I take it I've got your vote then!! Now if only I could find a nice Admin who'd start it as a thread in it's own right for me

Hi all I have created a petition group on Facebook to get the grand old ladies funnel back to Southampton as the new owners plan to take it off and replace it with a hideous glass penthouse! I want to gauge people's feelings/level of support before I start a 'proper' petition so if you're on Facebook please join and tell all your friends. Below is the link and my intro. Would have started a thread but I haven't paid my fiver! Thanks in advance. 11/11/08 saw the the most famous ship in the world leave her home port of Southampton for the very last time. She set sail for Dubai where she will be converted into a luxury hotel and conference centre. Part of this conversion involves removing her iconic red funnel and replacing it with a 4 storey glass Penthouse. Firstly I think this is extremely tacky to say the least and will destroy the look of a ship that is famous for it's un-parallelled class, style and majesty. The last of the true 'Ocean Liners' as opposed to the modern day 'Cruise Ships'. Secondly they will then scrap the funnel. Ever since I can remember as a small child I have looked out of my bedroom window at my mums house, and in later years from various points all over Southampton, and seen QE2's iconic red funnel towering above Dock Head. This is now a sight that none of us will ever see again. Watching QE2 sail out of Southampton for the last time was an emotional day for alot of people (myself included) and you could literally 'feel' this emotion from people standing on Weston Shore watching her leave. To then find out what QE2's new owners plan to do with her funnel was just shocking. We cannot let this piece of Southampton's heritage and history just be ripped off and discarded of like an oiley rag. I think we should start a petition to have her funnel returned to Southampton to be set-up as a memorial so the people of her home town port, the people that loved her so much, will always have a piece of her to go and visit. It is unlikely that many of us will be able to visit her in Dubai, and even if we did she would no longer be (or even look like!) the same ship that sailed the world for 40 years with Southampton proudly emblazoned across her stern. Who's with me?? http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=45315848407
