Got to be Whittard beans, freshly ground at home, in an espresso for me.. Guatamalan Elephant is the fave at the mo. Yes I know I'm a coffee snob, but I can't help it. Could never touch instant coffee ever again...

It looks dreadful imo. Apparently they did it in advance of their new "Olympic" site. Another "great" use of licence fee money, NOT.

Blimey - I read that some 10 years ago, and really enjoyed it - a good insight into Italian soccer loyalties

But its "written" by Johann Hari. Why should anyone believe any of the article........

Try Pj Harvey's latest - "Let England Shake"

All the money in the world couldn't persuade me to watch James Blunt - cannot stand the bloke's voice. Its gotta be Jools again out of that list. And as for Duran Duran or Snow Patrol/Calvin Harris, I find it hard to believe you're asking the question....... why would you want to go and see Duran?

Was most impressed with Sky's Treasure Island. I thought Eddie Izzard made a great Long John Silver (albeit with a couple of James Mason moments thrown in), and the story was done well with some good filming. I expected it to be aimed at kids, but it turned out to be really enjoyable TV.

About half way through Oscar Wilde's "A picture of Dorian Gray". A bit hard work at times as the language is so very descriptive, but there are some fantastic quotes, e.g "Men marry because they are tired. Women marry because they are curious. Both are disappointed." and "When one is in love, one always begins by deceiving one's self, and one always ends by deceiving others. That is what the world calls a romance."

My God - some people are so anal.......

This is your answer, Bridgey. Any existing thermostat can be replaced with a wireless one.

http://www.theweek.co.uk/people-news/43758/fans-horrified-krankies-admit-they-were-swingers#ixzz1h4kBee8a Possibly a post we'll not want to dwell on - CHILDREN'S TV stars The Krankies have revealed they were swingers in their heyday and they also punched Paul Daniels. Well the latter I can sympathise with, but going at it with Wee Jimmy Krankie ......? Any other TV presenters you'd least want to get intimate with?

Watched last week's episode last night - never seen it before but it is wonderfully original and quirky - wtf were the cheerleaders all about? You can't beat a good zombie cat ....

For the Millwall home game, decided to stand at the Archers End (for a change) and watched in horror as the Millwall fans put on their surgical masks, as we sang "harry the dog is a poodle" (you had to have seen the Panorama programme to understand this) Gave Steve Moran a lift home cos his sister was drunk and couldn't drive Played regular Saturday morning kick about opposite Tauntons school with Chris Barid (yes I know that one's a bit tenuous)

I work with colleagues in both countries. The German colleagues tend to be more arrogant and sure of themselves than the French, but the French are more hospitable taking you out for dinner. The food is france is way better.

Just finished this myself- a great story, and like you, never saw the ending coming - an excellent book.

Shoplifting for Jesus - the new Alabama 3 album. features Bez, Ray Winstone et al. As entertaining as ever. See them live if you can - you'll have a terrific night.

Watched the second episode last night - cannot make up my mind if I like it or not. Certainly leaves you guessing as to what's going on.....

A man goes to his doctor and says, "I seem to have a small lump under my chin." The doctor says, "Hmmm, do you masturbate a lot?" The man says, "Er...yes I do." To which the doctor replies, "F*ckin' great isn't it!"

Dreadful - not even a little bit funny

1976_child So stop watching BBC news then - its been crap for years - once (and I mean 20 years ago) it was impartial. Now its just an attention grabbing lefty pile of crap propaganda. Motto : Believe half of what you read and none of what you hear. Life's great being a cynic.

Global warming really is happening... (well, duh!)
Saint_Pedro replied to 1976_Child's topic in The Lounge
There's bugger all the human race can do about it - its happened before and it will happen again. This doesn't mean we should be wasteful, but just appreciate we are not having THAT much affect on the natural warming and cooling of the planet. Meanwhile, its a great reason for governments around the world to screw more tax out of every one of us. -

Roar didn't work for me, neither did any other sonic product. Allegedly the only one which seems to work is anti-freeze mixed with tuna, but that is illegal.
