  1. Went with my sister, standing about half way up the Shed End, and apart from going mental when Gilchrist scored, I seem to remember some Chelsea fans sneaked in the back of the stand trying to cause a bit of trouble - or am I imagining that?
  2. My first job was working in the IT dept there - were you doing the teacher training course?
  3. Absolute Radio - never play the same song twice during the day.....
  4. It wouldn't even enter the empty heads of the clueless numpties at the council to plan ahead. If they did, they still wouldn't bother planning it for another day or after the game traffic has cleared. A sad reflection of life these days ..... people just don't care anymore
  5. I hope its not due to leave port on Saturday afternoon, thereby screwing up the traffic while trying to get to St Marys.....
  6. Florence every time - beautiful architecture, fantastic food, and not as bullish as Rome.
  7. Have taken my digital SLR twice. On both occasions I asked a steward at the entry gate if it was OK, and both times told "yes no problem at all, sir" But when in the ground a steward once asked me to stop because, and get this .... "you need the approval of the people you are taking photos of...." WTF? I carried on taking photos anyway....
  8. Two men walk into a bar. The first man orders some H2O. The second says "sounds good, I'll have some H2O too" The second man died.
  9. Still got mine too - and no you can't have Paul Madeley .....
  10. If sex between 3 people is a threesome, and sex between 2 is a twosome, I now understand why everyone calls me handsome
  11. I threw a dart at a map of the world on my bedroom wall the other day, and went to where it landed. I had a fantastic 3 days sat next to my wall
  12. A man and a boy go into a barbershop. After getting his haircut, the man says, "Now cut the boy's hair too. I'll be back soon." When he's finished cutting the boy's hair, the barber says, "When is your father coming back to pay?" The boy says, "He's not my father. He met me in the street and asked if I wanted a free haircut."
  13. brilliant - signed
  14. I was there too - my second time since we drew there last season. Clarkson was on the next table to me as he has his own 4 seats (c. £250K per year). He was a scruffy looking old git. Tiff looked very old and wizzened. Our table had 6 Saints fans on it, and agree the food and drink were superb, as was the service. Most Chelsea fans were doubtful of a home win at half time, and all thought Wanyama was superb (better than Mikel they all said). I didn't find the home fans any worse at a game than our home fans - all wanting their team to win desperately, but having the decency to applaud Boruc off the pitch. Afterwards though, met some of the Saints players as they were boarding the coach - all were a great example of the perfect gentlemen - happy to talk, have photos taken and make my missus look like a tart posing with them I'd do it again, if for nothing other than a good day out at little personal expense.
  15. Outstanding goal!
  16. love the 'come on England chant' - even Roy smiled at that.....
  17. You scored 49 out of a possible 60 CONGRATULATIONS! You say Italian teams in an Italian accent, love stories of tactical innovations of the 1950s and prefer a well-executed lateral five-yard pass to a 30-yard screamer into the top corner. YOU'RE A FULLY FLEDGED FOOTBALL HIPSTER! Does that mean I'm like Turkish? I need help, fast
  18. But there are 42" Samsungs : http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/tv-audio-video/television/led-tv/UE42F5500AKXXU We have last year's 42" model and agree with the other comments here - am very happy with it. The only niggle I have is the video playback software is not up to scratch compared to , say VLC Player. If I plug in a USB stick with a high-res film on it, the built-in software stutters and drops out, whereas the same stick on a laptop with VLC Player works fine.
  19. Am having to endure 2 weeks in Arizona starting Friday - any Saints fans in the vicinity ir know of any bard guaranteed to show the Stoke and Hull games?
  20. Barry - I think I'd accept the word of an Iman rather than you on that subject :- "It is disingenuous for Muslims to claim that wearing the niqab or burka is Islamic. The requirement to conceal the face does not feature anywhere in the Koran. It is an archaic, aristocratic custom originating in ancient Persia that spread to Byzantium and was later adopted by misogynistic Muslim society. Many Muslims have been conditioned to conflate culture with religion and befuddle liberal Britain that this is a principle of religious freedom and human rights when it is neither. It is against Islamic law for masked women to undertake a pilgrimage to Mecca or to perform their daily prayers. If women are prevented from hiding their identity at Islam’s holiest shrine, why is it necessary for them to do so here? Britain must join France and Belgium in outlawing all public anonymity. Anything less would amount to sexist discrimination against British men, who are not permitted to conceal their identity in public. Imam Dr Taj Hargey Muslim Educational Centre of Oxford
  21. I see Wheater AND Bates are playing against Worcs - Bates is down as keeper and the "batsman" Wheater manages 2 runs ..... what a surprise
  22. What did you expect from the clueless BBC?
  23. Paul Lambert .... !!! woefully brilliant reporting ........
  24. Did a week in Havana and a week in Cayo Coco. Loved the place - locals very friendly, poor, but friendly. Scenery great, food OK, mojitas fantastic. Lots to see in Havana, but outside the city there's not a great deal other than coffee plantations etc. Beaches on the north coast are great, as Turks mentioned.
  25. Not a new series though is it? Currently waiting for series 6 to return in the Autumn.
