  1. In finest Homer voice: "Mmmmmmmm, fish......"
  2. Well personally I think it's a load of pollacks, a witch hunt since it was launced, it's been a trial full of bassless arguments, gurnard from cod knows where. Like a bream of light, an electric ray even, any topknot defence barrister would be a dab hand at defending this. And when it's opah, it'll be brill, and we'll all be doing the conger with a satisfied pout and freshly combed mullet. Feeling megrim you wont all be so goby, and maybe then think twice before acting like a bull huss in a china shop. I'll get me tope...
  3. True, you have a fuller squad than we do but we've still got a pretty decent core to build on, and the players are now starting to come in. We probably won't pull up any tree's next season but I think we'll be ok. Where do you see yourselves finishing?
  4. Hmmm, like to think it's not true but nothing would surprise me anymore....
  5. I'm no architect and call me Mr Picky, but where's the road that runs behind the Fratton end? Also, are they really, really going to be able to source a dragon? Think they're raising expectations pretty high with that one- A pompey crowd can be fairly ugly BEFORE they get upset. Just a minute- where's the KFC and McDonalds? That seals it for me, don't like it. Sorry...
  6. I think we'd prefer the 'long term project' scenario just for a few months at least The Twitter thing is a wierd one. Either they're just playing it softly softly or maybe they're going to be very, very private for whatever reason, or they don't want to raise expectations too highly? Dunno, all I know is that I just want some stability of ownership and I'm not holding my breath on that count. 6 points? That's just greedy
  7. Genuinely don't know whether to feel happy or not. My first reaction when I heard it was a couple of Ruskies was "Oh no, not again" bearing in mind Russia's wild west type business community. The only crumb of comfort is that they appear to have interests in a number of sports businesses around the world. But whether they're legit or not, no idea. I'd rather we had a UK owner, but at the same time we're lucky to still exist at all, so beggars can't be choosers. As far as investment goes, I think it'll be tight. They've already said they're looking to run it as a business, so I don't think they're going to be throwing millions Steve Cotterills way. Suspect it'll be more loans and freebies and a long struggle next season. In all fairness, you're some way ahead of us now having got the stadium in place. Long term we'd have been better off rebuilding FP really instead of signing a load of players on big wages we could only afford with Gaydamak's input.....
  8. I think you should look back through this thread. To quote an old Red Dwarf line, according to most on here we were going to be "deader than Corduroy". Didn't happen did it? A 9 point deduction and relegation from the Premier league and er, that's it. All the wild, wild predictions of the death of Pompey and half of evil Portsea island ending up in jail were just pipe dreams driven by utter hatred. What happened to us goes on in professional football all the time- the most we can all do is try to learn the lessons so that it doesn't happen again. The longer you all persist in the fleeting belief that divine retribution is still just moments away, the harder you'll find it to move on when reality finally dawns. The trouble is you've all whipped each other up into such a frenzy of jealous outrage that many of you now can't let go. You'd be better off inviting us for a beer when we play each other next season, rather than wishing we were dead. You might then realise that we're just as human as you with the same day to day worries and pressures and that the only difference is that we support different football teams. Or am I being naive?
  9. Ok suit yourselves, but as I've said all along, we're going to be just fine. In fact I'll pull up a seat myself. Pass the popcorn
  10. Well no, I didn't because it wasn't funny for us. But now having read the last couple of pages I'll quite happily catch up with the latest episodes every now and again. I had no idea there were so many of you desperately clinging onto this one for dear life. Here's the reality: It's over. We didn't get closed down, we didn't get thrown out of the top four divisions, we didn't get relegated again and we didn't get struck by lightning. Accept it, and do yourselves a favour- move on.........
  11. This thread still going?
  12. Yep, that's right. I'm from Portsmouth so I must be thick I'll get me coat....
  13. LOL ! To be fair you were just unlucky that the manager you had at the time didn't buy very well....
  14. Absolutely. And when it comes to moral high ground the home fans on here really do have a selective memory regarding 'cheating'. I'm not going to bother trawling through thousands of previous posts trying to glean little nuggests of ammo to back my case up because 95% of you are so hate filled that you won't accept them as valid arguments. But here are just a few glaring examples off the top of my head of how you 'cheated': When SLH went into admin you attempted to say that it had nothing to do with the football club and that as such you shouldn't be docked the 10 points. SLH's official website address: saintsfc.co.uk! Sorry, but....CHEATS! You built a ground you clearly could never afford if you got relegated: CHEATS! You bought players with the £7m parachute money that you knew you should be keeping back to keep up with those stadium repayments: CHEATS! At the same time cheating other clubs that were going for those players by outbidding them (that little line sound familiar does it?): CHEATS! Different circumstances, different amounts adrift when the curtain came down I'll grant you, but once you cross that line of financial recklessness the PRINCIPAL becomes exactly the same. Now, instead of the usual 'Tut, what a thicko' type replies is anyone going to be big enough to read what I've posted above and actually concede that I might just have a point?
  15. It's ok, I understand my point of view is completely alien and disagreed with by most on here. If you stick your head above the parapet it's fair game I guess.....
  16. Ok, predictably, plenty of abuse which is telling in itself, but no defence so far to my assertion that our situation is the same. Fine, if I'm so thick, explain it to me. Explain why your descent into administration was just a hard luck story and ours was nasty cheating all the way along. Go on.....
  17. Look, sorry to **** you all off over this, but you really need to get over this 'cheats' idea. Not only is it obviously eating away at a fair few of you, but it's so unbeleiveably hypocritical. The bottom line is that you all see your own reckless spending before administration as merely a gamble, or a mistake- "Sorry guv, could have happened to anyone...." so thats allright then. Yet you see exactly the same spending by us as "cheating." There is NO difference, we both merely spent money we didn't have in different ways....
  18. So, you DID default on the money owed on the stadium. Overall then, we "cheated" on salaries and fees we could afford only until the money ran out, you "cheated" on building a stadium you could afford only until the money ran out. I think the words 'pot' and 'kettle' spring to mind. You're no different to us. Cheats! And by the way in The News today: "Charities and creditors owed less than £2,500 from Pompey can expect to see their money in a matter of months. Balram Chainrai made a promise that his company, Portpin, would pay charities such as the Tom Prince Cancer Trust and the Harbour Cancer Trust back in full. Other creditors owed more than £2,500 will only see 20p for every £1 they are owed - and will be paid back over a number of years. Mr Chainrai made the offer after there was outrage from fans that the charities were suffering because of the club's financial strife, and should get all the money raised on their behalf. Legal papers will now be drawn up to pay them back".
  19. Cheating eh? How much of the money you owed Aviva for the stadium was actually paid back?
  20. Tricky isn't it? If it did come to that, I guess if we were well safe but not in a play off place then at the end of this season. If we were dead and buried at the bottom of the NPC then we might as well take it this season. If we were safe but -10 would take us down I'd rather take it next season and hope we could still stay up. Depends how we are doing on the pitch is the short answer....
  21. Ok, hands up, I got it wrong on both counts....
  22. Yep, fair enough, (goes into naughty schoolboy mode) sorry. To be fair the fact that everyone on here has a different view is what makes it interesting, more of a debate. Also the format and layout of our main board is rubbish which doesn't help. Still it wouldn't be Pompey if it was all bright and shiney
  23. Nope. The list guessed at earlier today....see above by about 12 hours or so...
  24. Serious question then: If the case is against Peter Storrie and not PFC, is it correct to assume they are alleging personal tax offences comitted by him? If so, are you saying there is a precedent where a club has been deducted points before in this scenario when an individual has been found guilty?
