Crouch oversaw the spending of £7m which thrust the club into an over draught. He maybe putting money in the club now, but bearing in mind he is as responsible as Lowe, Wilde and the others, so he blooming well should be. The club needs a total overhaul, it needs an owner to come in and get rid of all the poision that's surrounded the club. If i were in a position to buy the club, heads would roll, just about everyone in a position of responsibilty would be looking for work.

Well currently there is a comms/media specialist interested. Plus other skills. Lawyer would be greatly appreciated. And a qualified accountant

Their club their fans, we are talking about a continuation of SFC.

If we do cease to be, would you back a fan founded club formed in it's wake?
SET replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
Both previous clubs were funded in the first instance from donations, those who donated became founding members. In the case of FC united over 4000 people donated over £120k -
On no occasion should any group takeover another club and change it to their own, its simple not right.

You don't have a chairman with a little bit of money, the club is owned 1 member 1 vote, all money is generated by the owners(fans) and re-invested back into the club. No one rich person underwrites AFC Wimbledon, and no one person underwrites FC United, both are progressing towards the football league very nicely. -
It's about time saints fans unite in one voice, i've approached the trust as it is they who are supported by Supporters Direct for Southampton. Not only that but to get this sort of venture of the ground we need backing, Nick has offered the trusts backing. We will have our own committee, the trust will support that committee and provide a representative, in return we will have a rep on the saints trust committee. I'm open to the idea of doing this with all fans group if they wish to bring us all together on this project. But this is something our steering committee will have to decide on the best course. If though the committee for the saints1885 project decide they'd rather go it alone then i we would have to respectfully decline the offer from the trust. But i repeat myself earlier, its about time we unite. If people do not want a person involved all you have to do is put your name forward, join as members and vote for the board you want. So please put your name forward and lets get the clubs support moving forward together.

Which is what we are preparing for but i need help. Hopefully its not needed but we really need to be prepared if the worst does happen

I have this evening been speaking to Nick Illingsworth regarding this proposal. We have the full backing of the trust to setup a committee to engage in drawing up plans for a new club, if and i stress if no other alternative is left. The idea is not to run a club alongside an existing Southampton FC. So please if you think you could help and wish to get involved drop me a mail or pm and we'll get this thing underway.

The only league in pyramid that looks like it has space is Wessex div 1, Step 6 of the pyramid.

No ones forming a team, just getting together to discuss the idea, then atleast if needed we'd be in a position to move. And waiting a year would be a bad idea, by then we've all found something else to do with our saturdays like shopping with the misses in IKEA

Walcot, Bale, Beattie, Crouch, Baird Their transfer fees must be nearly 40m

Docker-P has mentioned creating a fans owned club in another thread, should the need arise. I thought this subject needs a thread of its own. If people are serious about doing this we need to get the wheels in motion now, league registrations will soon be shutting for next season. IMO as the time is constrained we need to create a steering committee who will get the club off the ground, then once up and running an EGM would be called for the membership to vote on the board of their choice. We're going to need a few skills Legal Finance Web Development Marketing/PR but mostly complete commitment to the idea of fan ownership. If you think you can help please feel free to email southampton1885@googlemail.com, (giving a breif outline of your skills experience) we can then try and setup a meeting. Ideally someone with no issues buys SFC and this idea can go away, but just incase the worst happens we need to be ready. We are also going to require somewhere to hold a meeting, please let me know if you have a room available for use, i guess a pub would be ideal. I've already contacted Supporters Direct and will be speaking with them later today.

We have to start planning now, league applications have to be in within the next month. If anyone can provide a free of charge venue for a meeting would be great, any landlords on here with a space they could give us.

Docker, sent you a PM I've said before on here that Fan Ownership of football clubs is a complete belief of mine, i'm also quite experienced being a founding member of FC United. The idea to setup a new club is great and i'm willing to be a founding member in two clubs, but you have to realise this club will not be in the BSP. The wessex league is the likely point of entry.

Not possible as you can't make a position redundant and then suddenly have it back again. So if you make the players redundant, you are stopping yourself from replacing them.
