I See He Bought SLH, Not Just Saints
Saint Richard of Woolston replied to Gemmel's topic in The Saints
yep, 'the assets'. You can all frame your SLH Certificates confident in the knowledge they are worth nothing. I held mine in my Broker's Account so I do not even have the priv. -
I'm in. We need him badly and it just 'may' not be too late.

Could be some interesting dynamcs now Stern John is back. Who was arm-in-arm with Stern's former 'squeeze' during his time here in Oxfords last night? Step forward Mark Wotte. Let the games commence.

Where's my Favourite Skate?

I once kissed Carly Simon . . . . -
Somehow I had never associated the words 'Fry' & 'hurry'.

Having been fortunate enough to be at allthe recent Cup Finals from 76 onwards, and seen some great football, it seems strange to confess that my greatest Saints Memory is the promotion season in the late 70s. In particular the away win at Luton when I really thought for the first time we could get back. Good times.

Words that come back to haunt you
Saint Richard of Woolston replied to ladysaint's topic in The Saints
Whilst Pearson staying here would have been a filip, there is plenty Crouch has to answer for. From backing Wilde to the way he let the Execs get the better of him to the way he ran the club. When the Bean Counters deliver their final verdict, being an uber fan with a few bob will be seen as being not enough. I have no *personal* regard for Lowe but we would not be in Administration now if he had not been bombed out on a whim that Wilde held all the answers. If we get bought out by a huge money organisation over the next few days, none of this may matter in the medium to long term. If we don't,Leon may suddenly find himself as popular as his good friend Mr Lynam is right now. -

Saint Richard of Woolston replied to ladysaint's topic in The Saints
Whilst not blind to his faults, particularly in how he rated his own understanding of football, I would still say that we would not be in the position we are now if Lowe had stayed here uninterrupted. We could well have been in League 1 but certainly NOT in Administration. (Lights blue touch paper, stands back) -

"Anybody but Lowe" -
No. But her mother did get 4 numbers on the Texas State Lottery last week.

Fingers crossed. Shame it is the Echo reporting it which immediately casts doubt as to its validity.

It has never been that! But after all the bile of recent days, I have seen nothing to suggest that any Money Man watching all this would want to get involved at Saints. There is an incredible head of bad feeling built up around the Club and the chances of establishing a stable business around it is virtually nil. It falls into the 'why would you?' category, I am sad to say.

yes - me and his other friend will be there! :smt027

So's mine and he's right. Unless she sees this in which case I have been edited and my post has been changed.

Alas not. A couple of boys with laptops. They waved goodbye to their last serious sport journos when John May and Bob Brunskell abandoned ship. RIP Good Sports Journalism in Southampton.

We've got our Club back!

Tony Lynam's credibility is on the line
Saint Richard of Woolston replied to 1976_Child's topic in The Saints
Hardly consistent with his claims of new interest coming forward. -
Update from Tony Lynam - 16.10 24th June
Saint Richard of Woolston replied to Pancake's topic in The Saints
I share the frustration of some. But it is unrealistic to expect TL to put his full hand out in public. In negotiating a deal of this size, many things have to be traded-off (and I just don't mean financially) and that is, quite simply, where Pinnacle are. I like the sound of them and trust they get all things ironed out asap. -
Nigel Pearson MLT's first choice?? where did that come from?
Saint Richard of Woolston replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
Crikey, Steve. I thought you would be too busy waanking away over the possible return of your hero Pearson than to come on here and defend him! (Lots of funny winky things). Personally,I cannot understand why MLT has not made a beeline for Branfoot or Souness. I would just settle for having a club in a couple of days time. But Pearson would be a good call. -
Yes, well done indeed. The professionalism with which this whole process has been conducted is very encouraging for the future. It also suggests that LC & LM are not closely involved as they both leak like sieves.
-
Oh sweet Jesus, please no Crouch & McMenemy.
-
Well, that's cleared everything up, then.

LOL, lift to ground not required since the Lottery organisers have spared me the winning numbers. I quite often need a lift home though around 10pm, so if you are offering. . . .

And you may well be correct, Spen. The good thing about this thread is that by the end of September, we will have an answer that will give us a good guide. My experiences were different to yours - knew a lot of people who wanted Lowe out but nobody who had changed their habits.
