  1. I also heard that AP was No. 2. After No. 1 initially accepted and then changed his mind literally less than an hour before he was due to sign. FWIW, I think AP is a better bet than No. 1. I would post his name if my source, who does read this forum, clears me to do so.
  2. Yes. And it was very noticeable how empty the Directors' Box was - just a few in the very front row and a rather solitary figure sitting on his own half way back (left specs at home so haven't got a clue who it was). No sign of the genial Geordie, old Mr Southampton himself, - must be on holiday. This policy of 'pay for your own seat' has certainly thinned out the good and the great.
  3. And I think that you'll find most people couldn't give a toss about the likes of us returning or not. It is a non-issue. Everybody had their own reason to buy a s/t or not last year and that goes for this year too. I had a year without a ticket last year and have one again this year. Not as a protest against Lowe, Wilde, Crouch or anybody else - simply, I did not get one. Still went to all of the home games when I was in the country though. Happily re-ensconsed in the Centre Kingsland, I look forward to an enjoyable season and a good atmosphere in the ground once again.
  4. I think attendances will be damned crucial. ML & Co have already made it clear that the Club will be run along business lines so, at its crudest form, the more we getthrough the gates the more cash we will have to spend.
  5. Kenny Carew, you bar steward. I only said it would not be safe to walk the streets if I was foolish enough to buy Saints!! I would also like to point out that whilst spending many a night in said establishment in the jovial company of Lets B Avenue back in the days of lord knows when, it was not me who caught the dose off of the otherwise attractive Cheryl.
  6. A new Chairman with a background in Banking, who says that the Club will be run as a business..........now, where have I heard that before?
  7. If I recall correctly, the 'blame' for the arrival of "2 metre Peter" was given to one R Lowe on this site's ancestor. Hence, 2MP was booed during his early appearances for Saints. How quickly we forget.........
  8. I would agree that Morgan didn't 'do it' for us last year. But he is a young man who entered a shambolic situation in a foreign country. I don't think we have seen the best of him and reckon he will end up a pretty good player. Hopefully with us but I can see him being surplus to what is required to get us out of this League which tends to be a bit more 'basic' than Morgan offers.
  9. Nice works, Pilchards. I am much encouraged by your reports. The players need a few rockets up their backsides and I think they may have just got the first one.
  10. LOL. I'll take that as a 'no', then. Look, I didn't start the McMenemy thread. But if it comes up and I happen to stumble into it, then I will post what I think. A bit like you do, Daren. I'm all for him having a seat; I'm glad he's off of the Board; I am uncomfortable with the 'kindly uncle' image the media like to connect him to with Southampton FC. Pure & simple. Because kindly and benevolent towards this club he has not been.
  11. I'll do you a deal, Daren. I'll stop posting my opinion if you stop posting yours. Your call.
  12. You really can be a very silly little man, can't you! If only it were that bland. Although I do retract the offer of telling you as I do not think you have the capacity to deal with what I would have told you.
  13. Let me assure you it does not cost me one second's sleep. I was enjoying how you had popped up about every third post on this thread, trying to stifle any opinion contrary to yours. A bit like the Woggy thread. And as for your list of names who have supported LM, well that is just hilarious. I know 2 of them well - very well. When I next see you, I'll give you some truths - if you can face it.
  14. Not when it comes to parasites, no.
  15. Oooh. Wait until somebody reads this. Standby for an onslaught of posts the like of which you will not believe. :tfrag:
  16. Now THAT I do agree with. Him feeling free to comment on all things Saints so long as there is a potential drink in it for him, I do not.
  17. Trouble was, Frank, that you asked people to show their class. They did.
  18. Exactly. Shame LM never thought the same and felt free to continue commenting after each of his many resignations.
  19. I can tell you what he would have said. "Manager when we won cup in '76" "In Europe" "Keegan and Shilton brought to The Dell" that's it.
  20. I agree with the mid table forecasts. Improving throughout the season, finishing upper mid table would do for me. But then you are only a very few points off of the play offs. But mid table would actually 'do' for me.
  21. Any chance of finding out what that is for me? ?? But sheeriushly, put me down for £100 too if you need some cash for the tickets, Duncan.
  22. Fantastic news. Almost as important as yesterday's announcement. Just as well he does not bear grudges against the morons who were booing only a couple of short years ago.
  23. Are you sure? From my understanding it was Banque Heritage who did the negotiating and Oldknow is a paid employee of Liebherr but only once the deal was agreed.
