  1. I always thought it was henry, but it was probably the wrong side of the pitch for him tbh. Anelka would explain the confusion.
  2. Who is this strong black defender? He is so dominant!
  3. So we'll tell the Burnley fans we didn't do it, despite it being the accepted course of events at the time, because nobody published the figures confirming it. I'm sure that will satisfy them Instead we wrote off an unspecified amount of debt. We could sign Cork for an undisclosed fee as well. Any way, third post, I'm off.
  4. I did begin the post with "I think", so i would have thought it was obvious that I didn't have exact figures. They were the broadly accepted conclusions at the time and there's no published figures to confirm or debunk them as far as I know.
  5. my maths book from school. there are probably books in which 15m is the majority of 32m, but i've not read any of those. If it was only Barclays and Aviva that had to settle for less, then the majority of the creditors were probably paid, but I've seen nothing to suggest that the majority of the debt was. Maybe it's on the final accounts of SLH but only accounts made up to 2008 are available from companies house.
  6. I think the debt was around 32m (excluding administrators expenses) and the club plus stadium subsidiaries were boughts for 15m or thereabouts. That's looks like less than half in my book.
  7. The company with the debts was liquidated. There's really no debate to be had.
  8. Apparently Anthony Pulis is a free agent. CHDAJFU?
  9. So basically clubs with little or no support are cheap as chips. We're on the expensive side for sure, but nowhere near what Leeds are charging.
  10. When the life expectancy of a woman equalises with that of a man and they play the same number of sets at Wimbledon I'll accept sexual equality anyway, my understanding of the pension age change was flawed (poor explanation on the government website until I used the pension date calculator) when I made my last post and it seems that the pension age rises day for day after April 5th 2010, rather than rising immediately to 65, so the inequality will apparently last a while longer in pensions. The points stand that women shouldn't have been getting it earlier anyway and that a few days paid labour would redress the balance. on the broader subject of the prices, they seem consistent with our competitors except behind the goals which looks dear. That said, I've only done a detailed comparison with Brighton.
  11. It was only women. Men were already at 65 as far as I know. Any men who were getting concessions at earlier than 65 were freeloading and women getting pensions earlier than 65 were getting something that isn't justifiable and doesn't make sense to me on any level. If his wife reached pension age last year then she was about three months short of waiting another five years for it. plenty of people about moaning because they turned 60 after the deadline. Depending on the availability of work (i appreciate it's not great at the moment), even a minimal job could surely offset the difference until she's 65.
  12. Thought state pension age went up to 65 more than a year ago.
  13. Wasn't Crosby playing when Cork was with Scunny?
  14. Wright was just ****.
  15. At the risk of invoking Ron Atkinson, I seem to remember a distinct lack of effort from some of these players when they were getting their boos.
  16. Facism?
  17. He's probably got a pay rise clause on promotion.

    Guly

Guly seems to pull his finger out when the sun's shining. He's not lacking any physical or technical ability, so his age shouldn't be a barrier to his improvement. He just needs his mentality carefully managed.
  19. if they draw equal on goal difference by scoring 10 or more they'll have equalled or bettered our goals scored.

    James Beattie

I dreamed last night that Marian had had a miraculous return to fitness and was in our team for the last few games of the season. He was having shot after shot but i woke up before half time and he hadn't scored by then.
  21. Though he wasn't signed during those ten years.
  22. Dean Richards
  23. I'm not sure Barnard is making less intelligent runs, but he's certainly making different ones. Barnard always seems to run to the same places Guly does. When they are both on the pitch they seem to get in each others way. Connolly didn't.
  24. surprise surprise. crap most of the ttime before he had his little glut of goals, then we panic buy him and without the goals he's still the same mostly crap player.
  25. Much preferred him between the sticks for the reasons up and away mentions. don't tink there's any chance we'll pick him up though.
