Both saints and vvd would lose credibility if this happened. Wrong message to send out to fans if we sold to club not in ucl and on similar footing to us in terms of league placings. Vvd would be going purely for the money. Sent from my SM-A300FU using Tapatalk

Saints Transfers Thread - Deadline Day

Given the players we are being linked to are at the cheap end of the market I don't see us spending any large sums on one player alone. Club would rather develop raw talent as that fits in with the business model. Unless vvd gets sold I think we're in for a quiet summer as Les Reed indicated at awards night. I almost would approve vvd being sold if it meant we bought some established players with the money received in key areas. Sent from my SM-A300FU using Tapatalk -

You do realise that Puels negative tactics were only reason we didn't concede more goals? Stephens did ok but let's not get carried away. Sent from my SM-A300FU using Tapatalk -
Need a proper CDM to play alongside Romeu in a 4-2-3-1 system. We are too exposed on counter attack with just him. This way less reliance on boufal and Co to stick to rigid position and track back. Sent from my SM-A300FU using Tapatalk

He is an average footballer (technically) but he's a good goalscorer. Give him service and he will score. Simple. Sent from my SM-A300FU using Tapatalk -

Wtf? Austin will bury most chances he gets. The problem last season he wasn't aways played centrally but still 9 goals not bad considering he played out wide some of the time and missed half a season through injury. Sent from my SM-A300FU using Tapatalk -
That's the least of his problems. Getting caught out of position and flat footed is his biggest flaws. He's not good enough to be first choice but we can't expect better as a back up. Sent from my SM-A300FU using Tapatalk

Let's not kid ourselves. There is no way we will reinvest anywhere near what we receive in player sales this summer. Club seem to get off on buying cheap then selling for 5-10 fold more couple of years down the line. Maybe good business practice but very deflating for the fans. Pretty sure Yoshida and Stephens will be competing for second CB spot with vvd or his replacement #1 CB. Sent from my SM-A300FU using Tapatalk

Club will be taking the **** if they don't bring in a LB. Mcqueen ok and pretty good crosser but target slow and crossing is pitiful. MP likes fullbacks to be focal point. God help him if we're stuck with target and mcqueen. Sent from my SM-A300FU using Tapatalk

Graeme Bailey reckons City want four new fullbacks. Alves, walker, mendy and Bertrand. Sent from my SM-A300FU using Tapatalk

Don't see the fuss over Ake. Never struck me as particularly good and certainly not good enough to fill vvd shoes. Sent from my SM-A300FU using Tapatalk

We have to assume pellegrino will have more licence to play expansive football with us given we have better players than Alaves and a bigger budget. Not my choice but confident he will be better than than Puel. Sent from my SM-A300FU using Tapatalk

I'll be amazed (not in a good way) if we appointed a manager with notorious defensive style after paying Puel a reported £6m to terminate his contract. I think this mystery 3rd candidate is the main target and that FDB and Pellegrino are both smokescreens. That's what I'm hoping anyway. Sent from my SM-A300FU using Tapatalk

"The search for a new management team is underway. We are confident that we will find the right fit in line with the long term vision of the club" You are naive if you don't think club have been working on replacement since end of season review. It was an open secret Puel was a goner. Compensation negotiations and search for new manager are reasons for delay in announcing it. Sent from my SM-A300FU using Tapatalk

I'm getting more and more confident we have Tuchel in the bag. Puel sacking took a long time to announce so I'm optimistically thinking we were lining the replacement up during this time. Either be tuchel or frank de boer imo. Sent from my SM-A300FU using Tapatalk

Yep. No show means he's sulking and didn't want to do it imo. If he is then could be good sign or could be ploy to spike season ticket sales and then he gets sold ? Sent from my SM-A300FU using Tapatalk

When he has been on his game he has been excellent ie Cup final. However, he does need to mature in not only his decision making as he quite often doesnt pass when obvious but also his body language can be really unprofessional. The amounf of times he is moaning at teammates is ridiculous. I get the impression him and Tadic have a personal issue. They rarely pass to each other. Good player but much more room for improvement.

Puel Sacked? - As Reported by Crook of Sh*t
jasoneuelllfanclub replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
Surely club want to ge new man in pronto to prepare for preseason. I know backroom staff will plan out fitness refines etc but I would have thought getting new manager in with feet under table will help ensure preseason starts to his liking and preferences. Given potential candidates list getting thinner by the day I just hope club narrowing down search and closing in on appointment. If it's a big name it has to be Tuchel. Anyone likely to be very underwhelming unless they unearth another Poch like coach. Sent from my SM-A300FU using Tapatalk -

Puel sacked by @SouthamptonFC after 1 season in charge, despite finishing 8th & reaching a cup final. Tuchel & Schmidt on shortlist. #saints https://t.co/oN3HcMDsF4 Sent from my SM-A300FU using Tapatalk -
Means nothing. We will still sell him to Liverpool. They will make vvd the scapegoat for angling for the move and there hands were tied blah blah blah Sent from my SM-A300FU using Tapatalk

Pathetic that we keep selling to Liverpool. Yes VVD too good for us but he's too good for them as well. Same old bull**** from Reed. He grinds my ****. Sent from my SM-A300FU using Tapatalk
