Even when we was in adminsitration and with RL at the helm I am pretty sure we would have sold 32K for a wembley semi final. Yes they are in admin, yes they have been poorly run and yes they have rubbish players bar 1 or 2 but no excuse for not selling there allocation considering they are "best fans in the country". I live near skateville and I see first hand what they are really like. They only have what I class as hardcore supporter of about 10-11k who would turn up against barnsley on a cold tuesday night. We may be a division below (most likely) but the fact is we are by far and away the biggest team on the South Coast.

Saints V Orient Post Match Reaction Thread
jasoneuelllfanclub replied to St Landrew's topic in The Saints
Thats why we bought Puncheon, to bring creativity. He may have had a poor game but made assist for second goal which was turned out to be the winning goal so his contribution on that basis was valuable. I rather have him start than Antonio any day of the week. Antonio much better coming of the bench as his pace normally exploits tired defences. -
Adrian Durham is very arrogant indeed. He dimisses other peoples opinions even though a talk show is about sharing opinions. Did anyone else hear Alan Green comment that Saints dont have 44k "true" supporters. That really wound me up. I felt like phoning in and saying that he was wrong. I would have asked him if he thinks Chelsea have 44k "true" supporters. He would have said yes for sure. Then I would have asked him would he think Chelsea would sell out Stamford Bridge if they were in the champ or league 1? The answer would be no. Because some of the 44k saints fans dont go regualrly to the games doesnt mean they are not true supporters. I myself have been to 4 games this season. Two of them the tickets were bought for me (bday and xmas) and the other two MK Dons and Wembley I used my credit card. Now I simply cant afford to go to games but I still go through the emotions every saturday listening on the radio, biting my nails, mood swings when we lose etc At the end of the day I made a sacrafice to get a wembley ticket which I couldnt do every week but I class myself as a "True" supporter.

Personnel actions to ensure promotion next season
jasoneuelllfanclub replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
CM, CB and a Target Man to act as back up for Lambert. Also AP must not use 4-5-1 as it simply doesnt work. The game yesterday highlighted this fact as Carlisle had there two best spells when we went to 4-5-1. -
so difficult to get a electric atmospehere at wembley. it takes a while for songs started in one section to be heard by another section at which point the song has lost its spark. england games are not a problem as there is only a couple of songs that are sung.

Great day all in all. Two things that annoyed me was the constant amount of people getting out there seats to go to the concourse area. Particulary when there was a free kick or corner about to be taken. People that left there seat 5-10 mins before half time and got back late missed a couple of goals - never understand why people do this! The mexican wave was really annoying. I paid £34 to watch a football match not to have people getting standing up blocking my view every minute or so. I am not a party pooper just mexican waves should be saved for tennis at wimbledon or something.

errr Huddersfield won at Orient today
-
Never noticed what Harding's right foot is like! I guess he can do the basics otherwise AP wouldnt play him there especially with Golden Boy fit now (James).
-
Antoni was a doubt according to the OS however that could be translated as having a sulk as he has not played much since Puncheon came in.
-
"Saints are coming" it is then. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1998482,00.html Good job this forum is a monority otherwise we would have had the rubbish queen song lol Good choice IMO.
-
in the respect that any team can play that song. it is not unique to saints where as the other two are but greenday will pump up the crowd more than OWTSGMI
-
Got to be "Saints are coming". It is the most relevant song to Saints coming out onto the pitch at wembley plus it will get the crowd and players pumped up for it. One vision has no relevance and OWTSGMI is fine to sing during the game but not to play when coming out on to the pitch.

Official: 44,000 tickets for Wembley then...

MK Dons home game didnt even sell out so no excuse about not being able to get a ticket for that game either. -

What also is annoying is that the Football league insisted all clubs have to take compeitition seriously and field strongest team possible. Saints have done this all along with good attendances in each round but now some fans will miss out on final with 20k seats empty. Perhaps FL are not taking the competition seriously !! -

The ridiculous thing is that Carlisle have their tickets on unrestricted general sale so there is nothing stopping saints fans getting hold of there tickets. so if it is down to "segregation" as to the reason why they wont give us more tickets then why let carlisle sell their tickets to any tom **** or harry? I know why carlisle have done it as otherwise they would have only about 10k attending. -
the announcer doesn't have the tone of voice to gee up the crowd. Bit of a squeeker if you ask me! Need someone with an authoritive voice who can really get the ground pumping.
-
People bang on about his lack of pace. I disagree. He is actually deceptively quick. He is quicker than Peter Crouch who has scored 20 goals in 37 games. Lambert for England! There is not a better striker outside the PL with Rikkie's all round ability. His work rate, control, finishing, heading, vision, lay off's and ball holding skills are second to none. The headed lay off to Barnard in the first half on Tuesday was out of this world.

looks like we will lose at wembely
jasoneuelllfanclub replied to doddisalegend's topic in The Saints
to be honest the new wembley pitch has never been good. Either it cuts up or it is too long and the ball sticks. To think this stadium cost £750m and yet st mary's at a mere £30m has a far better pitch. That said St mary's is proably the best pitch in the country. -
Pardews interview on the OS seems a lot more positive. Interestingly he mentioned the Wycombe game and admits they need to learn how to win on certain pitches or in certain difficult situations. It would make sense for him to have had clear the air talks with NC and he has seemingly accepted that saints must improve in certain areas in order to grind out results especially away from home. He is under immense pressure and he is bigging the team up now so failure is not an option for him. Though we wont know until the end of the season what will be classed as failure.

huddersfield are travelling down today. They are staying here until Sat when they play Gillingham. They have been granted permission to train at Portsmouth's or should I say Southampton University training ground. They then will be training at Eastleigh training facilities. If you read the interview it seems he doesnt realise that Portsmouth training ground is also in Eastleigh:) http://www.htafc.com/page/PreMatchComments/0,,10312~1980676,00.html

maybe he had a ruck with barnard about being substituted. Cant imagine bardard best pleased considering he was on hat trick and perfect chance for lambert to get a rest. could be nothing of course. we all have days where we cant be fooked. -

Sounded uninterested and made the interviewer do all the work. He made it a very short interview. Said he wasnt interested in stats and didnt care that dave merrington said saints on their day were best team in league. -

puncheon is the key. With him and Lallana we have so much variation in our play. Teams will be scared of these two. AP's interview on solent just now was a shocker. Sounded very moody and sarcastic. -
You have missed the point I was making. The point I was making was that the reason behind not allocating saints any more tickets was due to segregation reasons (according to echo) yet carlisle are selling there tickets via general sale where any tom **** or harry can buy a ticket(s). So should saints sell out their allocation was is to stop saints fans buying carlisle tickets?
