  1. No Championship games this weekend hence why WGS is back down here.
  2. will only be about 14k on sat imo unless popular manager choice made before then.
  3. I think Eddie Howe would come here if offered a job by Saints. Why not? Its not like Saints v Skates rivalry. He would be moving to a far bigger club with much bigger ambitions who can match his own and plus he wouldn't have to relocate. He does lack experience which is my only concern. Maybe bring Coppell in as DoF to oversee running of the football (non first team) side of things and leave the first team management to someone like Howe.
  4. I did notice from the Britsol rovers match gallery that AP gave Guly a "good luck" hand shake as he entered the field. In my mind if AP had any issues with this signing or lacked man mangement he wouldn't have done that. To me AP is his own man and wouldn't be forced into doing something he didnt want to do. However he does seem to down on players as much as he bigs them up. For example his comment that the club love rickie lambert yet his current form is effecting how the team is playing. Now if that was my boss and he said that in public I would feel very disheartened. AP definately a old fashioned manager and certainly has an air of arrogance about him.
  5. Coppell said he had no plans to return to football management. However I can see him coming in as DoF which would fit in with Cortesi's alleged continental management structure plans. I have a feeling AP wasn't playing ball with this plan. Prehaps Zola as Head coach and Coppell as DoF. Dont think o'neil would get on with cortesi. Just hope it is not Dowie, brown, ince or blackwell.
  6. AP said he wanted a winger to keep pressure on lallana and puncheon and was hopeful of getting someone in before window shuts. this will gather even more pace now.
  7. AP says not looking good and need to get it sorted this week which tells me they cant put off operation any longer. rather get sorted now then for him to have a long term problem. the boy is too good of a footballer to have his career ruined by injury.
  8. i think he will need a clean up operation which is usually 3-4 weeks. although not naturally left footed it is his best position for us. him and punch can change sides at any time which is our spark.
  9. Have saints actually deserved to lose so far this season? It is a rhetorical question because the answer is NO. I actually think defensively we are looking ok. We are starting to see that creative spark again just need that killer touch in front of goal. I see playing 5 out of 7 away as a positive thing in that we will play with less pressure, less expectations and against less defensive teams. If we can get run of wins under our belt the confidence will be sky high and we can make SMS a fortress again like we did for most of last season.
  10. Pretty sure that if we was close to signing Antonio then Reading wouldn't have played him last night. Solent were suggesting it could be him but that was pure speculation and they were not ITK. I think a fringe premiership player may be on the cards. Not sure who, just have a gut feeling.
  11. We need something unpredictable and he could be the answer. Against the right opposition Hammond and Morgan are great but when we need that extra spark to break stubborn defenses down that is when we struggle. Bolton are playing fringe players tomorrow night according to their OS so could be the perfect game to introduce him.
  12. Interesting it is a 5 month loan. Maybe being Brazilian there are question marks whether he can adapt to lower league English football. Could be the player we need when playing at St Mary's and opposition playing with 10 men behind the ball. Not sure if he would be the right player on a cold Tuesday night at Hartlepool.
  13. JP is so hit and miss. Saw him against Huddersfield last season and he was unstoppable. But too many games he lacks end product or control of the ball. Having said that he is probably still our leading assist player. Talented but very very frustrating.
  14. Is that 10K per week? If so I am really surprised at that considering the fact we could still be in league 1 when he makes his first "pro" start. In league 1 terms that is a huge salary.
  15. I agree. It's not down to "fringe" fans that can't be bothered. Football is getting more and more expensive. Look how many games in the Prem that don't sell out. People that can afford ST's or buy a ticket every week or two are fortunate and fair play to them however it doesn't make anyone else less of a fan. I can only go about 4-5 times a season but I still go through the same emotions listening on the radio.
  16. my guess would be 23/24k, which for leyton orient home is not that bad also considering the events of the past week. attendances for start of the season are usually down due to people on holiday. i know people on here wont accept it being down to holidays but honestly it is. also if you are like me and have no money until pay day then you wont be able to afford to go.
  17. Quite a lot of people on hols still plus people waiting for pay day so wont hold my breath on a big crowd although £22 for adult and under 8 is not bad. I reckon 23/24k max.
  18. barry horne 1st of 2 goals v bolton in cup. It was deep into injury time with saints 2-1 down. He sent the game into extra time with a 30 yard screamer which had so much swerve on the ball the keeper had no chance. watching the semi final against watford in the walkabout and got well and truly soaked. watching saints at anfield and seeing the old kop stand when liverpool scored was immense. the crowd seem to all fall towards the bottom lol marian pahars putting sainst ahead at stamford bridge in 4-2 win was awesome, it was so so cold that day. i have the 89/90 season on vhs which I watch over and over again just to see Le Tiss chip Bryan Gunn in the Norwich goal - pure genius.
  19. i think the holding company has a substantial income source to support the 5 year plan although I would be surprised if all the money is tied up in the account. I would have thought the main bank account would have enough money to cover the budget for this season. The rest of the income could be tied up in swiss savings accounts (tax purposes) or maybe money comes from the Mali Group when budget is determined for the coming season.
  20. NC is not just an employee he was also a friend of ML so it is not inconceivable that this holding company could be left in NC's sole control. We have no idea at this stage what the ownership status of this holding company is so it is not a foregone conclusion that his daughter will be joint director of the company.
  21. Wouldn't surprise me on the event of ML death the holding company would be left to NC with a trust fund set up for the holding company i.e football club. NC is the sole director of this company now unless ML's will stated that his share of the company is given to someone else i.e his daughter. We have had no confirmation who is the owner of the holding company now.
  22. Thank you Markus for saving our club. I just hope the team get promoted and then fulfill your dream of Saints being back in the Premiership where they belong. RIP
  23. Correct me if I am wrong but I didn't see Saints Carling cup goals on SSN this morning even though it seemed every other game was shown. This was from 0630 to 0730 so maybe it was shown later but just wondering the reason it wasn't shown was down to the clubs media policy?
  24. take wotton off. dont care who replaces him as no one could do any worse. he is utter rubbish.
  25. Haven't heard Wotton being mentioned. No wonder being overun in the middle of the park.
