normally he just tweets saying meeting player x about joining team x. this is an interesting tweet, although not sure what he means by "jungle drums". is this a source?

would explain adkins got a little bit tetchy with BBC Solent whern they were "wondering" around staplewood. Adkins should have realised Solent are nearly as useless as the Echo for getting their own scoops so no danger of it being exposed

Hammond/Barnard/Dickson/Chamberlain all missing today
jasoneuelllfanclub replied to Odiham saint's topic in The Saints
Adkins said on solent that aoc is the only injured player in squad now although may be fit for leeds game . So not sure on dickson. He has been quiet on twitter as well of late however not normally a prolific tweeter by any means. Just seems strange that's all. -
adkins confirmed to solent after wba game that one more player definately coming in plus hopefully another, both before leeds game. solent also said that a fan yelled at Mark Chamberlin about keeping Alex at Saints and apparently his dad yelled back saying he wont be going anywhere now as he has done his ankle in.

No it doesnt. Usually with in a few days as long all parties submit forms. If it goes to appeal then that can take a while. He is an established international so shouldnt be too much of an issue. If you remember back to Jaidi that was done pretty quick. Guly's was held up due to Italian FA taking their time.

maynard is in the BC team photo which has been released today. Plus he was one of the players that modelled there new kit. if he had been in southampton to have medical or be in talks in the past few days then BC are unlikely to have published photos of him modeling the kit. its like lambert having talks with another club and saints publishing photos of him in new kit afterwards. just wouldnt happen. so as it stands my guess is that we are not in for maynard currently, but of course this may change.

for anyone interested in buying a baby mini kit here is the response I got from the megastore. We will be selling baby sized kits this season; however our delivery of these sizes has been delayed. We are hoping to receive them before the end of August. You can pre-order one by calling us on 0845 688 9433

looking at you tube video I suspect he could be a luxury player in that he wont track back too much. So would be ideal at sms when oppo look to get men behind the ball. Away game could be more of a risk depending on how attack minded the opposition are. With his pace could be a great player late on in games though. I reckon he is just what we need. Lambert will be very pleased judging by the crosses ont he you tube video.

Does anyone know if they will make smaller than 2-3 mini kit which is currently available to order? i have two 1 year olds. Sure they had 6-12 mths last season.
-
solent say a source at sms told them no bids received for AOC this summer as of yet. arsenal apparently sounded out a possible transfer which inc add ons and a loan back but NC wants full value up front so a bid was never forthcoming. liverpoool made desisory offer back in january but no contact from them or Man Utd since.

Speculation about new kit:

I hope the highlights commentry are actually recorded during the game this season rather than post game as it sounds crap and noise level of crowd is almost muted.

has anyone watched the club guide featuring skates on saints player? the start of the video is hillarious. starts with footage of spinnaker tower then shows a chav with job****e tracksuit top on walking his dog. The dog then takes a dump lol then it shows what I can only assume is southsea whereby the tide is out and all there is muck and washed up rubbish. brilliant!

i actually think saints are do the right thing. they are rewarding the players that have contributed to oursuccess last year by offering long term contracts. this is good man management. most people like to be recognised for doing a good job as opposed to doing a good job then seeing a load of new people coming in to do your job. team spirit and strong team ethics is priceless and will lead us in good stead next year. from a business point of view saints will not pay over inflated prices especially if the player in question qaulity doesnt justify paying over the odds. of course they will be sounding out potential targets now to determine player interest but will bide their time to get the right deal for the club. also not only will they look at player's qaulity but also how they will contrinute to team morale and spirit. last thing any team needs is a bad apple which could jepordise all the hard work of lat season. this is part reason why puncheon hasnt travelled with squad as he is potentially has a negative impact on team morale. i am confident saints are doing it the right way. there will be 2-3 signings who will make a difference but not at the expense of team spirit which is invaluable to any team sport.

Adkins on Sharp: "Significant bid accepted. Decided for our own reasons not to pursue the deal."
-
Talksport reporter who reports on Arsenal specifically reckons AOC deal is done and will be announced before they fly out to the Far East. Not got a clue if it is true, just relaying what he said.

It will not cost £4million to buy Maynard. Very rarely does a player in the championship go for £4 million let alone a player in his last year of his contract. If Maynard wants to move on then Birstol City hand will be forced and they will have to accept he is in his last year of contract so either they get what they can or lose him for nothing next summer. I dont think it will cost more than £2 million to get him should he want to join us. I personally would prefer Maynard over Sharpe as we will be crying out for someone with excellent pace not just good pace for this league
-
my guess is that he is not confident of gettting a regular game in our midfield. He would be a good squad player, not sure if he is better than what we already have..
-
saints wont be mugged off by any other club or agent. this is why so many clubs are in financial peril because they pay over the odds and players negotiate ridiculous wages and image rights iinto their contracts. agents have been too used to dictating the terms and conditions so they turn their nose up at saints for playing hardball. i would much rather us lose out on players if it meant we stayed financially sound. If a players really wants to play for us then he will accept realistic wages and terms.

does anyone know if mini-kits for babies are usually made available at shirt launch or do they follow later on? my boys birthday in october so hopefully be available before then. -

be more than happy with gobern and danns going opposite ways -
Solent played an interview with howard whereby he stated he had no preference to which club he joined as long as they played nice football and had ambition to reach the PL. Solent tried to make out he had no preference between Saints and Poopey but you didnt actually hear the question given to howard so it would have been more of a general question about what type of club would interest him. He is not going to say he is happy with either us or the skates because if neither move came off then any other team looks like 3rd choice.

Blackpool have denied having a bid accepted. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11728_6963131,00.html
