To be fair the interview was old as it was on another website a few days ago. I think a lot of the player interviews were done before they broke off for summer. That said strange to post it today knowing potential deal in place. Maybe used as a smokescreen? Chappers up north currently adds fuel to the fire.

Never seen a quote from JR saying he wants to remain in NW. It is simply down to burnley agreeing deal with a club at which point you will find the transfer will be concluded very quickly. JR wants to better himself by playing in prem however he is a local lad so won't force the issue with burnley and will wait if need be. However burnley can't afford to lose him for next to nothing next year so will need to cash in but are understandably holding out for highest bidder. Burnley will let it drag on for a while but will be mindful they need cash to reinvest in their squad so don't expect it to drag out until aug. It will be us everton or newcastle who will sign him imo.

If he had any sort of ambition he wouldn't hesitate in leaving Celtic for Premier League. He will be up against top drawer even world class players week in week out. Average player standard in SPL would be equivalent of League 1 mainly and NPC at best. Not saying we will be his best offer but surely he will want to test himself against the very best? MLT stayed loyal to Saints even though could have easily moved to bigger and better things but at least he was playing high standard of football most weeks.

Not disputing what you say but it would be strange for cortesi to have extended adkins contract like he did if he saw no future for him to manage in prem. Maybe it was more of a financial reward rather than faith in his ability?

Adkins did mention in a post promotion interview (can't remember where I read it) that cortesi has "massive ambitions" for the club. I know he has praised cortesi for working hard behind the scenes during transfer windows. I am trying to recall if adkins mentioned cortesi @ awards dinner. Maybe someone else who was there can remember?

I think we need a lambert like player to compliment lee and sharp and take burden of rickie. That's why I think jay rod better bet plus has decent pace so could easily play with lambert

Hoping these paul robinson rumours are false cus he is utter tripe. Go for decent young keeper who KD can take under his wing but already good enough to challenge similar to how shay given and joe hart started out.
