  1. from the reports the player is valued at circa £3m so shouldnt be a problem paying up front surely? Unless of course we have a small budget, we have no ambition and no longewr have a billionaires estate to fund us
  2. Nice article on OS about JRod. Corky and Lambo bigging him up. Noticed the article refers to "Club record undisclosed bid" which correct me if I am wrong but this is the 1st time club have been open about breaking transfer record. I think they used "substantial" at time announcing the signing. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2827453,00.html
  3. I am thinking if the butland deal is going to happen it will be this week before he joins up with olympic squad on saturday. otherwise he may not be potentially be available for talks until tournament is over for england which could be well into august. Can't see nige waiting that long without having keeper onboard.
  4. If this guy has pace then he maybe he will be earmarked to play at LB when the opposition have a fast wide player for example Nani, Walcott, Lennon. As much as Fox is a good player and his set pieces are key to our game he does struggle against genuine pace. Also Lallana admitted on saturday that he has to carefully manage his groins otherwise he will risk getting injured. So this lad could be a good addition for us as it seems he can slot in at both LB and LM.
  5. The article is factually incorrect more than anything. Pog was a free agent just like guthrie and mccleary. To state they were easily most impressive team in npc is ridiculous considering they only won league by 1 point and we were top of a lot of it.
  6. so are there deals that are close to being finalised from what you know?
  7. according to the ever reliable Talk****e; Butland wants to move to us. Been guaranteed 1st team football apparently. http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-news/football/premier-league/transfer-rumours/120628/butland-desperate-make-southampton-move-175385
  8. I think on one hand it is refreshing to see that adkins is trying to build a young and hungry team with english players of great potential however how would we all feel should we go down this route and end up being being relegated largely due to the lack of premiership experience in the team? so perhaps £6m on butland could be better spent on a experienced defender or midfielder although wages would be a potential stumbling block. i do trust adkins and cortesi fully but surely some PL experience is a must. Maybe we have some freebies lined up to compliment these youngsters?
  9. surely we will get at least 1 keeper in before they fly out to france. unless we have missed out on potential targets then i fully expect this to happen. i did think a keeper would be one of the new signings in time for this "28th june" date indicated by adkins.
  10. Judging by photo on his blog it looks as if he is in hospital. Maybe he has had further surgery on his foot? Anyone know anything on this? http://www.minpo.tv/sp/view_movie.php?guid=on&movieid=SB1g5Mpgn
  11. It came from graeme bailey who works for sky. normally reliable for transfer news. i have a hunch that he was referring to michu. we shall see if this ties in with what nige said about hopefully having 1 or 2 in before pre season commences
  12. I know Blackpool would want big money to part with either matt phillips or tom ince but for me they would be worth shelling out the reported 5-6m needed on rather than 7-8m on jarvis. jarvis is quick but phillips and ince are lightening quick as well as young and will only get better. jarvis nearing peak of his career so be less chance of developing him into a better player. obviously there are exemptions like rickie lambert who has flourished in his late twenties when moving to a better club with better players around him
  13. Graeme Bailey has tweeted saying we have an exciting deal lined up but cannot say anything just yet. This guy is usually bang on as well so no reason not to doubt this.
  14. Never doubted Adkins said those exact words in FACT I can actually recall him saying those exact words. The stupid part of your post was the "Maybe he's a star in the making as well?" You was deliberately being condescending and you have a annoying habit of belittling everyone else's opinion if you happen to not agree with it which to be fair is pretty much all the time. I am only posting what majority of the posters think about you and the other WUM's and Trolls on this site. Tough if you don't like it, put me on your ignore list if you want doesn't bother me in the slightest. FACT
  15. "Also Nige once described Jonno Quick as "unplayable" in training. Maybe he's a star in the making as well?" FACT
  16. Talk****e should be embarrassed, he is a amateur and a complete tool. I remember him tweeting saying saints get preferential treatment from refs after being given two at millwall. He is a total knob.
  17. nothing gets past you does it! If multiple football experts say he is a star in the making then I have no reason not to believe them. There are some right t1ts on this forum but you and TDD are by far the biggest.
  18. He has had rave reviews in england training plus experts who have followed his development feel he is going to the top. Don't forget adkins was a keeper himself so I trust his opinion.
  19. So glad QPR signing him. He was not right for saints on so many levels but mainly because he is no better than KD (regardless of what turkish says). Let's get butland who is a star in the making and would become our #1 keeper season after next. This season he can gain experience in the cups and where adkins feels necessary.
  20. If location only real doubt jay rod as then hopefully spending weekend down here (if true) will hopefully swing the balance towards us again. Sun is shining as well plus maybe a little site seeing tour by corky and foxy will convince jay rod to sign. Monday we know either way. Cortesi won't **** about, he will want an answer pronto.
  21. It seems location is the only real doubt he has according to northern journo graham cross. He reckons saints are good payers so money should be ok. Now based on this info could it be he has been given the weekend to think about it and maybe even take a look around the area before deciding sunday/monday?
  22. errr he is only in squad due to lack of decent english keepers. he has made a good collection of howlers for both england and west ham FACT have you not seen the robert green bloopers dvd, available in all good video stores?
  23. This won't happen. There is no logic to it. He is not that good to start of with. Yes he makes some wonder saves but he is gash at the basic art of goalkeeping. Plus we don't need another experienced keeper we need a up and coming keeper who will learn from KD whilst being good enough to step in if and when required. The daily star story is hardly a well research or thought out article. A child could have written that. A non story imo.
