Dont care what anyone says, Saints have only themselves to blame on this. Should have wrapped it up once season ended.

IMO Saints tried to be too clever with this buy out clause deadline and it backfired on them. In the meantime Toby got a better offer from Spurs and when Saints eventually pulled there finger out it was too late.

Saints probably thought they would try it on when AM missed the deadline but recent events have meant they are having to swallow their pride and pay more for Toby if they want him.

Ive pretty much conceded he will go to Spurs. To many reports about medical and his preference to join Spurs for it to be BS in my opinion. So gutting to see him go to Spurs. Hopefully Saints plan B will be worthwhile. Need to get new faces on board before Morgan departs otherwise it will be pretty disheartening.

I agree. If Toby wants Spurs now then there is nothing Saints can do about that so it seems to be just a case of getting compensation from AM to soften the blow.

Madrid will sell to the highest bidder regardless who that is. So up to Saints to be that club. I think the issue is that Saints will have budgeted the agreed £6m fee, now they are needing to spend nearer £15m to get him. In my opinion he is worth £15m.

Spot on. He was was by and large very ineffective. I saw nothing in him to suggest a preseason with us will make a difference. Instead we should spend the money towards paying what Madrid want for Toby.
