Its an attempt to put immediate pressure on the opposing defence and try and get a position high up the pitch, ok it may not be working too effectively but what we do with the first ball played up the pitch will not make or break a game. Many times youve seen balls go back, defences make a hash of it and its 1-0 inside the first minute lol. Best to push forward from the kickoff me thinks but not a big issue. Pointless thread

Disagree totaly. Thought hammond worked tirelessly today, summed up by him tracking back 60 yards to tackle quincy, not once but twice. And this talk of o'hara giving him the run around, didnt see that at all. Ok he played a good pass for pompeys 3rd and was there at the right time to score the 4th but this was when we were chasin the game, looked distinctly average the previous 80 mins.

Totally agree. After a slow start to the season and obviously the -10, to be where we are, still in with a shout of the playoffs and also two legs from a trip to wembley, pardew has done prety well. Promotion to CCC is a 2year plan, this season would be a bonus and i doubt that NC/ML will want to return to the lowe era of choppin n changin managers every season. In pardew we trust!!!

On the OS, Pardew on seabourne against us earlier in the season-"He was everything i expected him to be, i thought he was terrific on the day". Funny considerin a few ppl posted on here how bad he was against us. Not the same player pardew was watching then lol
