We conceded 3 goals in our last 5 games which ultimately helped keep us up (two of which were the late goals against Everton and City). Hoedt played every minute of those games and did very well (should mention that our 'best' defender Yoshida was stupidly sent off against Everton and missed the biggest game of the season). Dont let the facts get in the way of you using Hoedt as your preferred fall guy. Im not saying hes superb but give him a chance

Hes not a recognised goalscorer at prem level but doesnt mean we cant keep him as 3rd or 4th choice. Who knows what injuries could do and he could take his chance if given time. We finished last season with 4 options and if we sell Long we'll need another

The inevitable injury to Austin will leave us with Gabbi as the only recognised goalscorer. We need another striker imo. Sell Long and keep Gallagher too

Hard to see him picking us over Liverpool if theyre interested. Yes people think he will be a squad player there but he certainly wont be thinking that. Hes hardly lacking in confidence and no doubt believes that he will be a starter. Not to mention Liverpool are building a strong team and he gets champions league football
