  1. Me and the missus broke up when we both went to different uni's, as we both decided that we didn't want to feel constricted. Reached my final year, we're both single after two and half years of other people, and we get back together after we realised that we were happiest together. Had a lot of fun with other girls, and my share of the requisite one night stands, but never met anyone else who made me as happy. It can work.
  2. Can't agree: Mascherano - Argentina captain and widely considered to be the best holding midfielder in the world. Alonso - one of the most creative players in the Premiership and an ability to pick out a pass better than anyone else in the league. Keane - regardless of recent form, is still a class striker. Carragher - probably the most consistent English defender of the last five years, who sadly was continually overlooked for England. Reina - winner of the last three Premiership Golden Gloves awards and only kept out of the Spanish team because Casillas is one of the top two goalkeepers of this generation. Dirk Kuyt - the best defensive midfielder playing up front in the Premiership. Fact.
  3. I went to Riga for my 21st in October, and went to see Skonto v Ventspils and Pahars was Skonto captain. Ventspils drew level with a controversial last minute penalty and I was quite randomly there whilst Ventspils got presented the league trophy. Some dodgy looking Russians brought in some fireworks and set them off and the Ventspils fans were chucking flares about. It was all quite surreal. We waited around for Marian after the match to get our shirts signed and he stopped and talked to us for about twenty-five minutes. The first thing he said was 'bad result for us yesterday' refering to the 3-0 loss to Watford; it is quite clear he still cares passionately about the club, regardless of what people have said above. When I told him he was still something of a Saints legend, he summed it up quite succintly by saying 'I'm not the man I once was'. The sad truth is that he was spot on and was half a yard slower than most of the players on the pitch that day. There was a tidy looking centre back and left back playing for Skonto though. Perhaps Marian could become a scout instead.
  4. The Roman Empire did not become the Roman Catholic Church. An absolutely absurd statement.
