Purchasing Tickets overseas
sotongomad76 replied to sotongomad76's topic in Overseas Saints / Supporters Groups
Excellent, thanks for the feedback all! My last game was Saints vs Cheltenham Town in the Cup four years ago, where I just showed up & bought tickets at the gate along with 9,000 other people iirc. Very different times. Man City unfortunately is the only game I'd be around for, which makes it incredibly difficult I know. We'll give it a try regardless! -
Apologies if this has been discussed at length, I've done a search but to no avail... I am travelling to the UK in November from Australia, and am hoping to see Saints vs Man City in late November. Obviously not being a season ticket holder, what are the avenues for purchasing tickets? I take it most games sell out, so is it feasible at all? Any direction would be great!

Have you ever dreamed you played for Saints?
sotongomad76 replied to chocco boxo's topic in The Saints
Had an even stranger one where I was playing in the 1976 FA Cup final as a central defender for Saints, giving the ball away and gifting United the opener. We promptly lost 2-0. -
Once dreamt that I was playing in the '76 final and fresh-aired a clearance, gifting Lou Macari the opener for United. Have no idea what happened afterward because I woke up.

Think it is an urban myth. It was 3 points for a win that season- rule had come in around 81-82.

New away kit, training kit and tracksuits...
sotongomad76 replied to bigdavewatson's topic in The Saints
Heh thanks for the offer Michelle- I'll see how this online store thing pans out, and if its taking too long I might need to take it up. Its very difficult being a Saints fan in Aus. Most sports stores only seem to stock your big four shirts, and the Saints shirts that I do have are the shonky Thai ripoff ones, so it'd be nice to grab a real one. -

Does anyone know (on a related matter) when the online store will be restocked with HOME kits? As I don't live in the UK I was hoping to order a medium home shirt online but it seems only the same limited size options have been available for months- ie I can only 'preorder' a small one (its been set like that for sometime), XLs, XXLs etc -
Getting up and rushing to school (I live in Australia) to get to the library first so I could log onto the net (it was all new and shiny back then, didnt have it at home) to see if we had survived on the final day of 1998-99. Remember it taking ages to load, and seeing that Pahars had scored twice for a 2-0 win over Everton.

Yeah Ive heard about that but that never got off the ground, did it?
-
Yeah but I think the issue is the Football League itself (ie Championship and Leagues 1 & 2)- none of those first 3 teams are in the Football League.

Think the Italian league rules had something to do with the latter, and after a while they could change their name back- I'm not sure though.

Rochdale will still be in League Two apparently

Thanks a lot St Landrew- having never been to the UK means that whatever sliver of info I can pick up about our history is a bonus. I never realised we were a chance in 81-82.
