James Ward-Prowse's list of indisputable, unimprovable weaknesses
St Marco replied to ScepticalStan's topic in The Saints
He is ****. People will be doing the whole he is young give him time thing when he is 33. Kind of reminds me of when some people were bigging up Lloyd James as the next big thing. Wonder what happened to that guy. -
Can't really blame Koeman for the transfer figures. Surely he identifies the players and the board negotiates the fees? We obviously over paid on a few players.
-
I don't buy this whole we can't afford wages thing. In October it was announced clubs were to get £3bn from the sale of broadcasting rights abroad. That in itself is more then Spain, Italy, Germany and France get in broadcasting money, combined! Add on top of that the £100m a season each PL team get's from domestic tv rights. A PL team will get around £140m a season just from tv rights. That is a huge amount of money. We might not be able to compete with the wages paid by the likes of Chelsea, Man Utd, Arsenal etc but in comparison to the majority of foreign teams we should be able to beat their wages for sure.

Wanyama and Koeman both take the blame for that. Wanyama for making stupid tackles he didn't need to make. And Koeman for not seeing the warning signs that we all saw. Wanyama should of been taken off after he gave that free kick away by our box. He was clearly told no more by the ref. Wanyama lost his head and should be fined for that. That said there were crap performances all over the pitch. VVD made mistakes that he would be punished for on another day. Our overall marking of players was awful. We lacked ideas and had no pace in attack. Koeman should of made subs at half time or 10 mins into the second half. Not with 10 mins to go. Clasie and Cuco did alright I thought. JWP was by far our worst player again. The lad needs sending out on loan or back to the u21's. We need so much more from that position and he isn't delivering. Stop flogging the dead horse and give someone else a chance in that role.
-
FFs. Dreadful defending there. Classie got nutmegged, JWP marking the invisible man. Terrible. Koeman should of made changes especially when Wanyama was walking the line after that chest barge tackle. And how the **** is jwp still on at the near 80th min mark? One of the worst players I have seen.
-
What a ball by Classie. Jwp is doing his normal **** all as usual.
-
I don't blame Koeman for that result at all. It is so easy to say he should of brought xyz on as that would of helped us win. JWP has a grand total of 3 tackles all season so was never going to be a defensive option. Calling for him is laughable. We had a bucket load of chances and we should of put more than one away. Can't blame Koeman for that. Individual errors by players not up to this level is what cost us. Again. Overall I thought we played well. Davis and Romeu put in good shifts. Tadic and Mane were a menace and Long in the first half was great. My only criticism is for the individual players. Yoshida and Martina have cost us again. VVD in my opinion is nowhere near as good as some like to make out. For their second goal he just backed off their player and ran back into the box giving the guy a ton of space to put his cross in.
-
No he didn't.... He was our worst player in that game. http://www.whoscored.com/Matches/959674/Live

Davis playing a blinder. Romeu doing well too imo.
-
Really? Statistically JWP is one of our worst players where as Davis is one of the best. For someone who has 100+ pl games under his belt and 850 mins this season of game time you must be sewing something I honestly can't see.
-
The team spirit was sold off in those 2 transfer windows. My concern isn't the players it's the way we play. It is just so dull and tedious to watch. Launch it to Pelle, rinse and repeat.
-
Benny boy, ahead of his time!
-
How can you blame Tadic exactly? He has been our best player that half imo. Again defence was to blame there. VVD is no Toby that us for sure.
-
Koeman is definitely to blame from a tactics and selection point of view. We are set up way too defensive these days. And players like JWP, Caulker, Martina etc are not PL level. Add to that Classie and Romeu who are a lot worse than the players we lost and you have the makings of an average team. The reality is the bored went to the trough too many times. Their business model of selling each summer and buying unproven cheaper replacements was always a gamble and this season it has failed miserably. We need to invest in quality players and that is what Koeman was saying in his comments. I think if we lose either Mane or Wanyama and fail to buy proven quality he will walk.
-
First time I have thought it but starting to question Koemans decisions recently. Brining on one of our worst players when chasing a game who has never done anything to even look as though he could change a game is just stupid. The next few weeks are massive for us. Play as we are over that period and we are in deep ****.

James Ward-Prowse's list of indisputable, unimprovable weaknesses

Managers rate him so much he has been dropped the past few games. And rightly so. Should only get a starting place based on performance and current ability. Not on something someone might do in a few years time. -

He is ****. For someone with nearly 100 pl games under their belt you would think he would show more experience in certain situations. His stats are terrible. -
I did listen to it. I took his words to mean by the end of 3 years he expects to have a strong competitive team. Not one that keeps being broken up every season. That is how I interpruted it anyway.
-
Didn't he say he didn't want to be a project manager? Be nice to hear how Fry and Co don't see that as a negative?
-
Brave thee by Romeu, looked like one of those hospital balls where a player crashes into the post. Well done lad.
-
What worries me isn't the performance or the fact JWP keeps getting into the starting line up meaning we are basically playing with 10 men. It's Koeman just looks so disinterested now, no shouting or firing players up on the sidelines. Its a far cry from how he was 4-5 games ago. As someone else said on a different thread it looks like something has gone on behind the scenes.
-
And that all came from JWP losing the ball. Great player...
-
Can't blame Koeman, he can only use what he has. What he has said about us needing to spend money on quality becomes so much clearer from the past few performances. We are a couple of players away from a strong team. But sadly the players like Caulker, JWP, Yoshida, Romeu etc have not been anywhere near the rest of the teams level. Also as Matty said Caulker was shocking for that second goal. Cedric was supposed to continue after him but Caulker was just standing still ball watching. He had no idea where Sturidge was, never looked around to see if he had moved. Only looked after the ball went over his head. If Vvd has moved forward it is his job to know where the furthest forward Liverpool player is and stick to him. Not just wander off and do your own thing. I would bring Juanmi on for Classie and push Davis into CM with Wanyama. The worst thing we can do now is bring on JWP who has done nothing at all this season and expect him to change things.

Caulker is one of the worst players I have ever seen
