Need someone who can do more than take free kicks in the middle there. He needs to start contributing more from open play. According to Opta he is currently rated 17th in our squad based on performances. Seeing as we have only played 21 players thus far that is pretty bad.

I thought we played very well in periods and didn't deserve to lose at all. We created a lot of chances but as seems to be our problem we can't stick them away. Or they fall to players who imo are pretty bad at shooting overall. I think the club can be proud of their performance and showed one of the giants of football we can actually play. That said I think we really lack a creative central attacking midfielder. Someone who can create a killer pass and score some goals. Jwp shouldn't be near the first team. The corner at the end is in-forgivable. If that was anyone else they would have been slated. When we have just come close to scoring from a few corners/balls into the box why oh ****ing why did you decide to short corner, run all the way with the ball across the pitch and then pass it back to Martina....That is up there with the most stupidest things we have ever done. Add to that he could be partially blamed for their goal by not tracking their guy back. Back to the positives and I thought Sam and Romeu played very well. Romeu has come on loads this season and it's great to see. Yoshida and VVD did pretty good and limited how many shots they had. Jay Rod looks to have lost a lot of pace though which is sad to see.

Terrible performance. Rooney has to be finished after this performance. 2-0 at home to Malta.....That is just as bad as the Iceland game imo.

Decent point when you look at it. Not the easiest place to go too. Another clean sheet and Romeu did very well. Negatives are again we fail to score. Only one more goal than the bottom team scored. If we go behind in games will be tough to get back in it. Redmond had a shocker and jwp...well think we can create a drinking game for every time he passes backwards when he has the ball.

Are you saying the Redmond and Austin chances were hard? As the commentator said you would expect those chances to be taken at this level.

Redmond has been pretty poor today.

Not sure how you can defend him really. He knew what he was doing when he decided to meet up. It was not as if they just bumped into each other. He went there with the intention of doing something. Talking about how to bribe officials was totally stupid. Then indicating to take a couple of grand after it was set up sounds like a bung to me. The point is if he was caught doing that what else has been up to? Has to go no excuses.

I remember taking some flak on the Puel signs thread saying Black will end up being a disaster. Didn't think it would only be within 2 months though....

Think its going to be one of those games where whoever makes the mistake will lose. Hopefully it won't be us. We look a lot more compact now. Martina is doing better as in jwp.

Yeah I think that would be the right move. It is a pity Davis is not available as think he would have done well in this type of game.

Very poor first half but we looked a lot better when Tadic came on. I think our problem is we are lacking a CM who can run with the ball and get forwards. Jwp has done too little for me. Bring on someone who will get the ball forwards not backwards which he tends to do.

jwp needs to get involved more. Can't just jog towards a player, stop and jog back. Need to get the ball. I'd take him off and put Hoj on at halftime.

Thought we played very well second half. Could have been a lot more then 3 that's for sure. But you have to say WH were terrible. Loving the excuse that its the stadium making them play ****....
