  1. Yeah but QPR this year is slightly different from last years Cerny Parejo Ramage Cook (who i thought played excellent btw) I think were all new, least i dont remember them. The others were youngsters learning their trade like our team this year. They seemed big and physical but with lots of pace which again i didnt remember in either games last year. The players they have brought in look ok but nothing major. They are among the favourites to go up but looking at them i can't really see why.
  2. My concern is he might wield the knife when it doesnt need to be. The fans i think will get on his back if things remain as they are and that will influence it. No matter what side of the fence any of us are on we all have to admit that right now the team is playing better then the team of last year. We lost 4-1 but that wasen't a 4-1 game. The lads are giving it their all and to stay in the game after the start they had and going a player off was tremendous. Our team last year would of caved in bigtime. The question i ask myself is, is it Jan who has got us playing like that or is it just youthful enthusiasm and will to do well? Because if it is Jan then we must keep him and give him the backing the team needs to survive. Things are not going our way right now but each game they gain more experience and i feel far more confident with them out there then last years team. The other problem is as you said team selections. Perry maybe should have been on for Ollie and we should have a proper defender to take over from Surman etc.. i just hope a manager learning the ropes on the job doesn't end up costing us again. If it was me i would have brought in Billy Davies and maybe get Jan as a assistant. Let him learn. One of the people i travel with commented that he thought Jan had underestimated how good teams are in this league and how competative it is, others have mentioned it in this thread. If that is the case that he has an ego then we could be in for a Jewell sort of wait for things to get better.
  3. No dont get me wrong there is a long long way to go where anything could happen. It is possible we could put 2 wins together and get to mid-table and even put 4-5 wins together and get to the top! Nothing is won or lost in September. The problem is if we go on a run like we are and that % stays the same say into 10 games. That would be 2 wins 6 points from 30. If that happens we will be at the bottom adrift. When your there it is near impossible to come out of it and save yourself. I worry then if that happens what will happen, will Lowe do as Lowe has done before and get rid of Jan and give the job to Wotte or maybe Henderson? The further we fall behind the harder it will be to correct the situation. If the fans are already booing after 4 games imagine what it will be like after 20 if things stay the same.
  4. At a loss rate of 80% the only future we have is league 1. The question is if we dont improve and do actually get relegated will we keep those players or hype up our under 17's as our saviours?
  5. Hmm Lowe didn't make 1m profit on Davies. He made at best 200k. And Davies was not a mediocore run of the mill average player that you try to portray he was our player of the season and one of the reasons if not thee reason our defence got better last year. As for the injury he was out with a fractured cheek bone.... But just to kill off your view as delusion once and for all how about Gasmi who we have on loan with a transfer option included. He has a broken leg but i guess the fairies will pay his wages right? Just another case of it is ok if one does it but not the other im afraid. The truth is we have bought in over 7 players this season, some for fees and some for frees. The banks would not allow any money at all to be spent if they were chomping down the door to recover their money. That is just a myth used by the pro lowes to justify why we are failing. When Crouch did it last year with Skacel and Rasiak i recall you and others giving him slack for it and the main reason you wanted him out. But if Lowe does it now it has to be because the banks said so....We have gone from a high wage team to a very low wage team with majority on youth type contracts. If we cant operate by our own financial means now then we never will. Reling on players to sell off every year to make ends meet is a buinsess strategy destined to fail such is what has happened.
  6. However biased you try to be it was a poor tackle and he had to go. He got both legs around him while at full pelt and on a winters day when the ground is a lot harder he could of broke his leg. Very stupid challenge which just shows inexperience of actually playing football. He will learn from it i hope.
  7. It does work as they brought it in last year. It is just like playing real football in the sense that you spend most of the time without the ball but when you do something like a last ditch tackle it is just as rewarding as scoring a goal. Loads of fun! Count me in as ML XBL = Trid3nt
  8. I use this website http://www.findprice.co.uk/ Tis good
  9. So we are in the relegation zone and we "are doing well"? Not quite sure how that lodgic works exactly. The whole point of a football club is to play football and to win games. If you dont win games you get relegated. Thus meaning if you are nearer the bottom then the top you have failed. So while i think Lowe has done some good things i think maybe appointing an unknown manager (again) could come back to haunt him in may (again).
  10. I bet George could find one I kid i kid!
  11. Must be you because if you define a nerd as someone who uses a computer and your typing on here then doesnt that make you one too But anyway back on topic! I have been pretty ****e at FML, just finished my 1st season and finished 14th. I like the game just dislike the transfer system which is realistic in the sense the rich get better and the poor, well stay poor!
  12. Owned? Now i know you must be 14 or younger....If you really think that is how it works and women are that shallow then your in for a lonely time
  13. Well i been married 4 years now, have a midget on the way and have a pretty good life i think. The difference being i grew up a longtime ago and realised you get further with women by being open minded rather then trying to look/act "cool". Im sure your figure that out oneday my friend
  14. Haha i bet there is probably a lot of truth in that actually! But here is one for you http://blog.wired.com/games/2007/02/female_gamers_h.html According to that research female gamers actually have more sex then non gamers thus again proving your stereotypes are about as modern as a 5 door Nova :smt045
  15. And that remark obviously must come from someone who has no gf/wife because those who do know that you might want to have sex with a real girl, that doesnt mean she does too! But im sure where you come from girls must love that whole mentality right? Also guess you didnt know more girls play games then guys http://www.mediapost.com/publications/index.cfm?fuseaction=Articles.showArticleHomePage&art_aid=67924
  16. Did you know computer games are actually the biggest selling form of entertainment on the planet? So i think your about 10 years late with the whole "you have no life" type speech And besides what are you going to do outside exactly? Go look at some trees, kill a liver down the pub? Get pneumonia out in our great summer weather? Go cruising along Hedge End Mcdonalds with your pimped out ride? Or do what 99% of the world do and actually stay inside on your fat arse watching tv?
  17. I disagree mate, i think Super charged soccer was more realistic then PES08. For me PES series died after number 5. It just hasent been able to bring that excellence into the new generation of consoles. The funny thing is up until last year i hated fifa with a passion, the fact that it was arcade and pretty much just the same game every year for like a decade. But the past 2 PES have been dire. I can run with my goalie on PES08 the whole pitch and score, it feels like it is you versus yourself rather then actually having an oponent. The 70% score it got is justified i think. Where as fifa last year went back to the drawing board and changed the whole you can run the whole pitch with the sprint button jammed down and score everytime. It is more about skill and finding openings with changes of tactics and positions. This makes the game major hard but once you mastered it makes it more realistic. PES09 has copied a lot from Fifa 08 as they have their own "Be a pro" now, it is about time they started to make other features as master league and custom tournament get boring very fast.
  18. my mate played it at the lezpeg games convention few weeks ago, said it was just as poor as last years. Will wait for the demo myself.
  19. Demo should be released today on PS3/360 and PC
  20. To be honest though if you gave a manager £12m in this league in under 2 years i'd say anyone could do better then Burley did. It is all well and good comparing that to say Pearson who had about 50p lost his 2 best players and so on but Burley had it easy. So yes i think the statement "anyone could do better then Burley" is true if they start with and have the same resources Burley had.
  21. Also been playing Tiger Woods 09 on Wii, i like it loads of fun. However i can't putt for **** and this lets me down! I guess practice will make perfect!
  22. Indeed, looks like the BBC have already started their Burley is **** campaign http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/internationals/7602136.stm
  23. Thankfully me and two of my Scotish friends went to the bookies the day he was appointed and placed bets he would be sacked before the end of the qualifiers. It is funny reading Scots views on the game then comparing them to Burley's, it is like deja vu
  24. Apocalypse Now by far, one of if not thee greatest film of all time. If you ever get a chance watch "Hearts of Darkness: A Film Makers Apocalypse" It's a documentary about the making of it, superb! Second up i'd say Platoon followed by Green Berrets/MASH Deer Hunter was amazing but not really about Vietnam as such, more about how communities deal with being asked to go to war. Sort of the same with Casualties of War, not really about the War but about what happens with a group who rape a girl. Could be set anywhere.
  25. I ordered earlier on Direct2Drive today, says you can play from the 7th of Sept or something! Hopefully it will be an ok game!
