  1. If you had read what i have been saying from pre-season up until yesterday you would see i never once said we were doomed, i said we need to keep our feet on the ground. We have played poorly for the majority of the season. We have finally produced a game that the fans deserve. I dont look at wins against Doncaster and Norwich and think things will be great and i dont look at loses against Blackpool and QPR and think things will be bad. I see a team that is playing for the majority of it the first time. They dont know football yet, they are learning it. I have been the voice of caution saying dont put pressure on them to be this all amazing team because that is just stupid. They deserve the support of the fans win or lose and they deserve the time to actually learn to play. How anyone can see a win against Doncaster and Norwich = out of trouble really does beg belief. We have 11 points from 27 that is not something to praise or to start bringing out the "we were right everything is going to be fine" type statements from. We have 4 very tough games now of which i don't expect we will get many points from. If the team from last night plays as they did in that game then we have a chance IF we can take our chances. We can't rely on 35yrd flukes, people scoring own goals, refs giving us the rub of the green, sending people off for nothing and most importantly we can't expect Davis to keep bailing out our defence. You are no doubt one of the people applauding the defence right now, where as i am not. If Kelvin haden't pulled some simply outstanding saves out of his ass over the past 2 games we would be here slating them. You give those chances to a team above the pedigree of Doncaster,Norwich and you will be burried. Look at the Rotheram game to see that. Kelvin didn't play and we got battered. So as i said the lads now have a platform to build from. They have gone 4 games undefeated in the CCC. We have won two in a row, one home and away. The fans were behind them and in my view that made a world of difference. They should be high in confidence and up for saturday. If they don't turn up and we get slaughtered i won't come on here looking for your post saying "i told you so". Simply because if we lose we have lost nothing and there is still time. If we win then i will still say what i say now, the boys are trying and given the time they deserve to learn can go on to be a good group of players. The difference being that before the season started you and others were saying we would be mid-table or beyond. As i said we have 11 points from 27, if you said to people that is what we would have come october i doubt many would be happy about it. Where as i would. I support the team win or lose not the board room. Last years team were awful but i still supported them and that is one thing you can never deny. I am not a fair weather fan and even if Lowe does sell Davis and Lallana in January i will still be there cheering on their replacements. (lets hope he doesnt do that of course).
  2. Game normally do nice deals on consoles, just a brief look i notice they do the console and Tiger Woods for £129. Doubt your get it cheaper then that as that is pretty cheap. http://www.game.co.uk/Xbox360/Hardware/HardwareBundle/~r337132/Xbox-360-Arcade-Pack-with-Tiger-Woods-09/ If you add like another £30 you can get the premimum bundle
  3. BWP is from Brazil i thought?
  4. 2 great results but i think people need to be realisitc (again) here. I expected nothing but 2 wins from Doncaster and Norwich. They are poor teams. Didnt Norwich have like 9 players on loan or something in that game? If we had lost those games it would of been a disaster. Both of those games we were handed very fortunate decisions and had for the first time in years luck on our side. If Davis had not made the saves he did which were not "OK" they were world class it would of been different. Such is football. The team played well last night but lets not go overboard here and try and say things are ok and were be alright or the "moaners" are wrong to moan etc.. 1 good performance does not make up for pretty much 6 poor ones. We need to work on a lot of things but this is steps in the right direction. And if things continue as they have over the last 2 games were be fine. Imagine if we had lost those 2 games. We would be 3 points a drift at the bottom of the league. So everyone should be happy we are not. The lads received massive support from the fans last night and hopefully now they take confidence in that and put in a performance at Coventry.
  5. Sweet that you got it early! Are the transfers up to date i.e Berbatov at Man U and Robhino at City? Maybe even Robertson at Saints? Across the net i think generally people are really happy with the game. Nice that you can change the speed of the game to kill off that "its too slow" argument people had. Also is it true that ****hole Fratton Park is in it?
  6. Indeed, was really gutted about the turn out. The fans tonight were excellent and was nice to not have that ****ty atmosphere we have had at home for awhile. Maybe now people will have a bit more faith in the players and come back to support them.
  7. Well that was a very enjoyable game i thought. One which obviously could of gone either way before we got the luck again. I think it is about time we had luck on our side as how many times has it been us in the other teams place with things like that. Robertsons goal i have no idea if it was a cross or a shot but if it was a shot that has to be amongst the best goals i seen. The boy i felt was class and made a huge difference. Tell them they can keep Dyer for him! Sure Norwich had some great chances and again if it wasent for Davis it would of been a different story, but overall i think we deserved to win. The ref was a joke to be fair and if that tackle was a red card then most games would finish with just 1 person playing. The penalty was 100% right though in my book. It is hard to decide who deserves man of the match as i felt Lallana was excellent as was Robertson and Davis. So i think i will give it to all three. Now the negatives.....If we haden't got the bits of luck we have in the past few games we would not have won. Lets not go off on some delusion crusade here people. We are creating chances but we are missing them. The shot/cross goal and penalty today, the penalty and the own goal at the weekend etc.. we need to start actually taking our chances. DMG wasted so many shots again and apart of me didnt want him to take the penalty as i thought he didnt deserve it. I would of let Robertson or Surman take it. As with the defence we let them create so many chances too easy and on 9 out of 10 days playing like that will see you get burried. We can't rely on Davis to keep bailing us out. BWP again showed he is not up to par and James i felt was a bit too weak. Lancashire i also worry a bit about. But a win is what is important and the manner of it. This was the best performance this year thus far and you can see the difference 3 players make to a team. They deserved to win and they deserve the applause they get. Seeing the standing ovation was a nice momment. The fans were tremendous today and made the home atmosphere so much more enjoyable then what it had bee. Fair enough the other displays have been awful but this one i think showed they do care and they do want to fight for the club. They can take great confidence form this game and hopefully push on from here. Also i think your right exit about selling Davis. Someone who i spoke to at the game mentioned there were a few scouts watching probably Lallana and Davis. He said one was from Bolton and one from maybe Fulham. Now how he knows that or if it is true i have no idea but i would not be surprised out all if it were true. So if Premiership teams are watching then you can be sure CCC teams are too. If we lose those 2 players in January we will be effectivley commiting suicide i think.
  8. This will be an interesting game and one that i feel we have to win. If we win we could move up 7 places in the league and that would help so much with our confidence right now. But if we lose we could go bottom depending on results. That is the nature of the league, 1 win sees you jump up a few places and a loss sees you fly back down it. After Norwich we have some tough games against promotion hopefuls and you just know they will get their seasons on track against us. So in that regard 3 points tonight seems even more important. I think we will win and do so quite comfortably. Norwich are an ok team but they have struggled the same as us the past few seasons and i expect them to be near the drop zone come may again. I am going for Saints 2-1
  9. fixed mine and got it back to me in 4 days (sent mon got new one on fri) remember to phone up and complain and they will give you a free game, it happened to me twice so i got Gears and Project Gotham 4, which i sold on ebay Also you should get a month free xbox live gold thingy with it
  10. yeah game took my cash earlier, maybe get it a day early or something fingers crossed!
  11. Keith did a grand job on the old website and always mirroed what the majority of fans were actually thinking/saying. Would be great to hear his views on current situation although i can imagine they would not be as positive as some of our community! I know i might get a bit of flak for this one but maybe also get our supposed fans representive Nick Illingsworth to write. Think it is about time our "representive" was seen/heard amongst the community and seeing as this site houses the most Saints fans i find it criminal he is not contributing somehow.
  12. Ah i not read eurogamer for awhile, i think only them i tend to agree with review wise. However in terms of timing it could go either way i think. It could be a clever ploy to remind people that Pro Evo is still around and is actually good this year so hold of buying fifa and wait for us!! Or most likely is a last grasp tactic in trying to keep the whole fifa vs pes thing going.
  13. My sources tell me the demo will be released on thursday (the day fifa 09 is released)
  14. Not sure if the season is multiplayer but the 10vs10 will have leagues/cups etc.. it is sports version of a clan or a guild. In the UK at least it is about 50-50 in terms of who has a PS3 or 360 so i would expect there to be the same amount of people out there willing to join in. There are various places that help set up leagues and things if you want to join on your own/dont have enough people etc.. i think EA run the website somewhere. If you get really good you can play teams on http://gamebattles.com/ And if your major good you could go pro and get £1m for winning world championships
  15. Also check this goal out, pretty funny and shows the physics of the engine http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Osdc2c0oWGM&feature=related
  16. Well only a few days to go and reviews are starting to come in. First up is IGN. Now those who dont know IGN is a sponsor of Konami. They put money into the development of the Pro Evolution series which in return they get the advertising boards in PES. They sponsor the PES UK tournament. So as you would expect IGN have been somewhat a little biased over this little "deal". Those who can remember IGN caused a storm by giving PES08 a 9.2 rating. Even the official xbox magazine which hands out good scores as if they were cereal toys gave it a 45% score. It's metascore was 74% and was largely panned. So what did IGN give FIFA08? a great big 7.9... So then obviously Fifa 09 you would expect to do just as favourably on IGN this year right? Well in what can only be seen as saving face from the storm set to come they have come out and given it a 89% score. They even said there is no contest anymore in what is better out of Fifa 09 and PES 09. So naturally they would never give their own game a poor reveiw so i would expect PES09 will probably get a 90% score this year. So there you have it. When the enemy comes out and gives the game a 10% increase over what was already a good game last year then you know good reviews are bound to follow elsewhere. http://uk.xbox360.ign.com/articles/913/913467p1.html
  17. Nah it wasent comfortable. They had the better chances and from memory got more on target. It was one of those games were if the luck things had not happened it would of been 0-0 every single time. But as you say the result is what matters. Doncaster are one of the teams i see being around us near the end of the season so right now 3 points dont look so crucial but it will do come may. It was a huge result for us and will do wonders for our confidence. We have 4 tough games now but if we can win against Norwich i think we can push on and get away from the bottom which in turn releases a lot of pressure we have put on ourselves.
  18. Rock Band 2 seems to be getting perfect/near perfect reveiws http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/xbox360/rockband2 I have no idea when it is coming out here or if it is even coming out here. All i know is it is on 360 in US currently. (timed exclusive?) If it is anything like the first one it will be released here with like a 400% price hike no doubt. Guitar Hero World Tour looks interesting as has a really good song list and supposedly you can actually create your own music, which no doubt when ****ed up with friends will be torture on sober ears! Think it comes out on October 26th. A lot of you might hate these type of games. A year ago i was the same. But after playing Guitar Hero 3 and playing tunes like Paint It Black,Paranoid,Slow Ride,Welcome to the Jungle etc.. i think it is class. What a genius idea.
  19. maybe we should go pro
  20. Yes. He was supposedly meant to be a CB in the first half but was defending further up then the line (in my opinion) then he went into the holding role when Perry came on. So translated means (in my opinion) in the first half he was to high up the pitch not really in a CB position of which they just hoofed it over him and that is where their chances came from. Hope that makes more sense
  21. And this is what i love about football, a game of opinions Also i thought the first penalty was a bit kind in all honesty, plus if it was a foul they should of also lost a player i thought? The second penalty was 100% right. What happened to Schneiderlin by the way? I saw he got a bit of a bad tackle from behind.
  22. Well if that is the case he in my opinion was out of position for parts of it.
  23. No as far as i could tell it was 4-5-1 when John went off, before that Wotten was alongside Ollie in the centre.
  24. Indeed. I would be happy to take 1-0 wins all day long
