That is pretty mental by Watford. On Sky Italia they showed the table from last year over the same dates. I forget we only won 7 of our first 23 games (30%) which makes MPs 4 (17%) look absolute dire! What was also interesting is if we put our points into the table from last year we would have been 15th. Which goes to show how crap everyone was last season.

According to this survey https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&ved=0ahUKEwjvx_j10-TYAhXFK8AKHfFaAWAQFggpMAA&url=https%3A%2F%2Fglobalsportssalaries.com%2FGSSS%25202017.pdf&usg=AOvVaw36kJxwgbXV3n7n-GIwpydT We spend avg weekly pay of £43k making us the 110th highest weekly spenders in all sports. And 10th in the PL. Spending basically the wages of Burnley and Huddersfield combined. Reed really has ****ed up giving so many poor players big contracts. Shlong and Forsters ones being most notable after poor seasons.

That really is a scary thought.... 'Its a twiffic club Wes, if you get rid of your manager who is a top bloke (twitch) I will do it for fwee (twitch over-load)....

Because I imagine he might be getting paid to go there and talk?

Fighting a losing battle. The one that makes me laugh is the debt/spending other peoples money line. That debt was smaller than the amount we spent on Gardos. And how much profit did our previous owner make? I also like how he is somehow to blame for our financial situation even though since he left we sold hundreds of millions worth of players and had new tv deals that were the biggest in history. But that £1m loan ****ed us man!
-
To be fair to him though I imagine he took a pay cut to go there. They said he was on around £120k at Arsenal. Can't see Everton beating nor matching that. If it was just about money he would of signed a new deal at Arsenal. By all accounts he has moved because he wants to play in the World Cup and as he is not playing for Arsenal that looked unlikely. I think people bashing him for picking Everton over us and saying it is about money is very harsh. The reality is closer to the board probably not offering anywhere near the £20m Arsenal wanted. In fact they say we only wanted him on loan whilst Arsenal wanted only a permanent deal. Think the blame lies closer to home than 'greedy footballers' imo.

Maybe I haven't read everything here but you want to not include cup games, games around the xmas period (that every club had to play) and none after the cup final? Which is what about 70% of our season? That is quite selective isn't it? So by that logic you are happy to write off most of our games and judge someone on a tiny period? No offence but isn't that quite unrealistic and just an excuse? As pointed out to you we had poor results all season. It seems a bit strange that you are happy to discard huge amounts of games due to a busy period or because a player was injured. Or saying our 2 wins in 13 at the end of the season didn't matter because we knew we were 'safe'.
-
What a load of horse ****. Negativity breeds negativity. The players don't care and many are simply going through the motions. When Redmond got stick for passing the ball back to half way when we are at their 18 yard box is a prime example of why we are so poor. Here in Italy and I'm sure in Spain too the fans will get on your case quickly if you don't seem to be trying. They will boo you if you keep looking to pass back. I think even Liverpool fans do that and they are lauded for their supposed support. When your club is playing so poor, the board room seems full of clueless money grabbers and a new foreign owner we know nothing about it is hard for people to jump up and down and cheer when you are losing at home to say Burnley or whoever. If the manager and players showed positive play and actually put in effort then the crowd would respond to that. So now we have some people blaming the fans for our results. You really couldn't make it up...

The guy just never learns does he. 1-0 up and go ultra defensive and invite them to attack us knowing full well we can't defend for ****. MP, Reed and now Ralph need to get the **** out.
-
Or just talking ******** as normal?
-
I don't think even poor old Ralph understands what he is saying. So much waffle and hypocrisy its crazy. So the reason we are doing bad is because a player wanted out and that created a negative atmosphere? So when previous players wanted out (and there are a lot of them) they were not disruptive? Secondly he mentions the small club thing a lot and in some regards he is right. In comparison to Man Utd, Arsenal and co we are a small club. Even though Reed said the plan was to get into the CL etc. However in comparison to the rest of the league we are not a small club. We have one of the most expensive squads out there. In terms of TV money other than Europe's elite teams we can blow other clubs out of the water in terms of transfers. But regardless of being a big or small club that doesn't actually justify the results and the decisions that have been made. You cant say we are a small club therefore the manager and board have done alright. Burnley are a small club and they are doing fantastic because they are being run well. From the board all the way down to the players. We are where we are because from the board all the way down to the players they have been gash this season. Nothing to do with being a small club....
-
I thought every one of those players played very well. We nullified their attacks and defended superbly. Some great attacking play too. If we didn't get anything from that game it would have been very harsh! Sure Utd were nowhere near their best but we showed a lot of character. Now we need to continue to show that in every game not just against the bigger clubs.
-
Some of the choices I'm happy with and some not so happy with ie jwp. I'd still have Lemina in there. But Utd are in a bit of a slump and there is a negative atmosphere so hopefully their crowd will get on their backs. If they score early though its going to be another mauling.

Out for sure. He has had an horrific past few years in regards to decision making and what's happening now does not look like that is changing. For me my main gripe was the needless change of direction in terms of our style. We used to play pressing, attacking free flowing football. That brought us to where we were. If we played any team you felt we would give it a go. That is no longer the case. He brought in ultra defence minded staff and players. When you are setting up at home with 6-7 defensive players against Huddersfield that shows how far we have changed. People will say Reed doesn't pick the team. But he picks the managers who will pick the team. He picks the players we will buy and he is the one who decides who will be sold and who get's new contracts. With Puel you can give him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe that was not how things were supposed to go. But as said in that Palmer article he knew MP was a defence minded coach. There is no way he was appointed for his 'attacking play style' as said by Reed when he joined because MP had never played with an attacking play style. He was a cheap option, and someone who would be a yes man. Some people have mentioned the vvd and the insane amount of money we have received. Do I trust him to spend that money on quality? Not at all. We are 2 points above the drop zone which shows our squad isn't very good. Some players will have a good game here or there but for the most of the season they have been gash. So many of the squad should have been moved on in the summer. Last season we struggled for goals. We all knew we needed some quality attacking players brought in last January let alone the summer. But we didn't. We brought in more defensive style players. We persist with Redmond, jwp and co in the hope they will eventually come good. Add to that we just sold our best player in January whilst we are in a relegation fight. VVd might not be at the same level he was, might not be putting in the effort. But a half assed vvd is still better than what we have. We have lost 18 of our 38 games in the whole of 2017. Winning only 10! Swansea have won more than us. Huddersfield have 6 wins already! Point being the players which have come in recently have decreased the quality of our team. Therefore the recruitment has been poor. As Les is in control of the recruitment and who we bring in he must accept responsibility for it. Which brings me back to MP. The guy is doing badly. We have 11 points from the last 45 on offer. Or 2 from the last 15. Which puts us joint bottom of the form table. In the last 10 games we have let in 20 goals. Only Newcastle have let in more goals over that period (21). We have only stopped 4 teams from scoring against us. That's the 3rd to last in clean sheets. Which not only shows the defensive set up is stupid it also shows it isn't working! If you are letting in around 2 goals a game and only scoring 1 it doesn't take a genius to see you are more likely to lose games than win them. The guy should not have been here in the 1st place, it was not a 'good fit' as Reed claimed. The fact he is still here is a baffling decision by Reed. If we keep hold of MP and repeat our recent recruitment quality we will be in big trouble. If you have a leader in charge who keeps making bad decisions and isn't strong enough to change things when they are not working then what is the point of him? He is in control of the football aspect of the club and the quality of it has seriously declined. In any other business he would be out on his ass.

Liverpool agree world-record £75m deal for Virgil van Dijk
St Marco replied to SuperSAINT's topic in The Saints
Thought Reed said we don't need to sell anyone anymore due to the amount we get through tv deals? I think the important question which that guy was alluding to is it's a great deal if we get to spend it. If we don't we have just made a relegation threatened team weaker. I don't think that is moronic imo. -
Sorry but he has to go. He is to blame for all of this imo.
-
Remember when we used to play like how Spurs are? Until Reed decided to change it and bring in a ****ton of defensive players and managers...
-
Played 6. Lost 5 drawn 1. Would say that is pretty awful to get 1 point from 18 no? We currently have 7 points from 30. Most likely 7 from 36 after the next two games. Who knows what will happen for the rest of the season but one thing is for sure if we get only one win in our next ten as we currently have we are really in the ****.
-
That's Austin banned then.
-
He won't be sold. Remember Mopo said in his conference Pellegrino confirmed he had discussed the matter with Saints vice chairman and football supremo Les Reed, who denied talks were taking place. He said: “I don’t think so. “This morning I was with Les talking about that but nobody knows about that." Reed wouldn't lie to the manager would he? I mean he is the director of football so transfers go through him. If he says there has been no talks then you have to believe him.
-
If you look at our stats we are 4th to bottom in terms of distance covered, only a few km from being 2nd to bottom. So no doubt they loved him as they didn't have to run as much. No surprises to see Spurs 2nd in that list though.
-
Because the teams around us have avoided playing each other? Which from last weekend they have now started to do.
-
How many bids did we turn down? (serious question as I actually don't know if we had bids or not).
-
Can't blame Silva for playing with 10 players every week. Watford shouldn't be anywhere near where they are. Which is above us.
-
To be fair if it was not for Forster that would have been 5 or 6. Only him and Yoshi played well imo. Xavi had another 'brilliant' game for us....
