  1. To be fair they had a stone wall penalty and we had a legit goal cancelled out. They cancel one another out. They have been all over us this half especially the last 30mins and we didn't make the right changes. Bringing JWP on when he has been utterly **** this season was the wrong move.
  2. Great news. Obviously easy to look back etc but it makes you think why he didn't just give Koeman the contract/backing he wanted. We must have wasted well over £100m since then on players and paying managers off. For me that sums Reed up. Believed his own hype. Personally I think it is one step in the right direction but Ralph and the rest of the failed muppets need to go too. As others have mentioned I think Hughes must know now he is on even thinner ice than he was before. They should just fire the bullet and get it over with now.
  3. You are 100%. Who the hell joins a forum with the intention of just slagging off posters? How about deconstructing peoples opinion and proving them wrong. You know offer some actual opinions? That is what a forum is about. You don't do that. You are a skate and you know it.
  4. Can you do us all a favour and just **** off please? Nobody is enjoying us getting beat. We have been awful for a long time and people commenting on it doesn't mean they are enjoying it. The fact you seem to think people shouldn't be critical when we have been awful suggests you are either a wind up merchant or one of the few. I would hazard a guess that because all you do is come on a forum and slag of posters with every post you are one of the blue down the road.
  5. Think Hughes has to take JWP off now tbh. He is a huge liability and with a card it could get worse.
  6. Hughes has to go now. The guy seriously lacks balls and keeps picking players who are clearly struggling. That is something like 3 wins in 19 now. Around half a season. With the nightmare fixtures we have in December these results will look even worse. We have some crap players, a crap owner and board. But any half decent manager will get what they have playing better than they are. The guy is out of date and will take us down.
  7. Is it just me or does anyone else think Ings seems to fall over a **** load? Even when nobody is pressuring him. If he has the ball he seems to roll over about 3 secs later. But yeah this is really awful.
  8. http://elixx.me/xbarcelona.html
  9. Leicester are shocking this second half. Could end up 5-1 or more.
  10. Have to say Maddison looks a quality player. Its a shame we didn't get him as he is exactly what we need. Someone who can burst through midfield, take people on and do a quality pass. Can shoot too. We really need someone like that. Kind of like what jwp should have been.
  11. But he was not sacked which is what he is implying. He left because they were not going to re-invest money and he had to use the kids to play. I think getting 9 points from 13 games with a terrible squad is decent going. We have 6 points from 9 and have spent a fortune. At that point MoPo had a very good reputation and was wanted by lots of clubs. He was only out of work for a month or so. So whilst it isn't hard to offer a job to someone without one, it is more difficult to offer it to someone who has a lot of options. Look at Rafa at Newcastle. Would you say he has failed? And when he leaves due to not having any money to buy players will his reputation have been tarnished? Overall at Espanyol MoPo had a very good record considering what he had to deal with. He basically did the same-thing when he joined us. Didn't sign many players (3 I think?) and just got more out of the players he already had. Which is what he was known for. So to say he failed is wrong.
  12. How did he fail at Espanyol exactly? He had never managed before and saved them from going down. The following season taking them to their 2nd highest league position since 1995. He then got top 8-10 finishes in every season but his last. Espanyol then got into financial difficulty and sold most of their best players without re-investing. In his last 2 seasons they sold £70m of players and spent only £6m on new ones. In the last season not even spending £1m. Was he expected to win the league after selling everyone or something?
  13. Defence wise I thought we were pretty good. Kept them well at bay. Don't think they really had a chance did they? However the other end is where I worry. We just don't seem to attack very well. Mo and Austin haven't really done much to justify their places. Time to start Gabbi imo. Hughes has a 17% win ratio now, needs to change and change fast.
  14. Apparently Hughes said the training went really well, we showed some serious class. We beat the cones 3-2 with a last minute goal mouth scramble to score. (seriously though it really winds me up when Hughes talks about how quality we have been in training).
  15. We have won only one home game since January? That is horrific! Fair play to those who keep going and have paid a **** load to do so.
  16. Interesting stat on the bbc site about us "◾Since Mark Hughes' first Premier League match in charge of Southampton in March, the Saints have lost nine Premier League games - only Newcastle have lost more (10)." If I remember right Newcastle spent something like £20m after the sales of players so can understand why they have lost a lot. But Hughes losing 9 of 16 isn't a good record at all.
  17. Thing is we have to play the teams that will be below us. Seeing as we have won something like 5 games in 40 doesn't give me confidence we will do that. Add to that our record against promoted sides 2018/19 so far Wolves - loss 2017/18 Newcastle - 1 loss + 1 draw Brighton - 2 draws Huddersfield - 2 draws = 5 points from 18 + 0 wins 2016/17 Hull - lost 1 + draw 1 Boro - win 2 Burnley - win 1 + lost 1 = 10 points from 18 - win 3 = 13 games against promoted sides = 23% win ratio and 30% loss ratio. Sadly I think by the end of December where we have a brutal run of games we will be in the bottom three. We needed more points from Burnley, Leicester and Brighton at home.
  18. Hughes has 3 wins from 15 in the league which is 20%. MoPoo had 6 from 30 which is 20%. Maybe just me but I prefer looking at the win % for league games as there are more of them.
  19. I'd take a punt on Roberto De Zerbi (must have a small buyout). From what I have seen so far from Sassuolo I have been very impressed by their play style. Very attacking but also very good at keeping the ball. He is a young manager and still learning his trade so probably too early in his career to move abroad. But if we want a change in terms of style and the type of players we recruit and do something different I'd give him a go.
  20. Have to bring Gabbi and Armstrong on. Wolves are there for the taking.
  21. Don't think we have been that bad really just not creating much. Seem very slow in the build up and are trying to go through the centre way too much. Mo is having a shocker though.
  22. Maybe we can do what we did a few seasons ago where we came from 0-2 down to win 3-2 against them?
  23. He left them third to bottom. Had 1 win in 8 games before being sacked. Had a GD of -24. That is horrific. No chance he would have kept them up that season. Was sinking like a stone. Even our chump didn't lose as many games as Stoke did at that point.
  24. No we don't.... I think you might be referring to jostling for position or blocking players off. We don't see someone pushing a player with two hands and then elbow barging them over. That is a foul however you want to look at it and as mentioned if it was the other way around we wouldn't be happy if it was not given for us. As far as I can tell nobody has complained about it. MH didn't, the commentators didn't, the pundits didn't and most of all the Saints players didn't. The only one who objected was Cedric. Everyone else just walked out of the box. It was a foul and thus a penalty.
  25. Looked a penalty to me. JWP basically shoved him with both hands. If it was the other way around and we were 1-2 down and that happened we would be ****ed if it was not given. It was a very soft penalty but as the commentators were saying if you do that you give the ref an option to give a penalty, don't do that. For someone with the experience JWP has you would have thought he would know better.
