  1. Tadic's role as chief penalty misser has been seamlessly filled by Austin. He misses penalties every bit as efficiently as Tadic used to.
  2. Keep it quiet, but I did hear references on the grapevine about something called "Contracts". My source implied that the mass sackings you suggest may involve some minor legal difficulties and possibly even expenditure of funds, but don't quote me on that.
  3. It's not the winning, it's the taking part.... .......seems to be the boardroom philosophy at the moment.
  4. We said he wasn't for sale at any price, and duly sold him. We said Liverpool had to withdraw their interest in the player after we caught them red handed tapping him up, and then sold him to them. Oh yes, we played hardball there, no doubt about it.
  5. Maybe, maybe not. The premise of this thread is that the club currently has no specific direction, goal, or plan to achieve it. Whatever accusations are levelled at Cortese and regardless of their accuracy, one thing nobody can say is that he didn't have a clear vision of where he wanted to take the club. It may have been completely pie in the sky and unachievable, but his goal was there and clearly stated; who knows whether or not some players might have stayed to be a part of it, for that matter who knows which players might not have come here in the first place if not for that plan? As for players getting sold on regardless of who the chairman is, if that's the case why are some chairmen (like Levy) seen as particularly difficult to deal with in the transfer market, and why are we presently viewed as a soft touch?
  6. I can't take any more of this, but if anyone else wants to watch the rest of the slaughter this is the best stream I've seen in a long time. http://www.dubs.to/beinsports/
  7. .......minus the hope.
  8. He's playing the odds. Sooner or later we just have to win a home game....... Sadly, I think he's gone earlier than a teenage premature ejaculator.
  9. Nobody's saying we should be happy with it, just that we're expecting it. That's how low our stock has sunk.
  10. Can you even begin to muster an argument against that? Because I know I can't.
  11. Finishing a minimum of mid table or above with our squad and resources probably means doing a Puel and keeping us boring as hell but hard to beat. That went really well with the fans last time, I'd try that again.
  12. Second half could get genuinely embarrassing. We haven't actually looked bad overall, but the dippers are this year's club to have bought the title, they look as nailed on for it as citeh did last season.
  13. My thought on reading that was how I always groaned whenever Long or Austin played against us. Then I remembered how long ago that was.
  14. Subtle and amusing in a juvenile way. Well played sir
  15. Watch that come back and bite you squarely on the rear end.
  16. When they pulled back their first so soon after we'd scored you just knew a draw was the best we could hope for. I'm surprised we got even that the way we were playing towards the end. Others have questioned Hughes decision making during games, last night for the first time I agree. It really did seem like we were trying an Ali rope-a-dope without anywhere near the strength to sustain it, that second half was painful to watch.
  17. Moyes is funnier than skinner will ever be.
  18. Yep, a perfectly weighted backheel into the path of Clyne's run.
  19. It's lucky you were suitably attired, I just wear jeans and a sweatshirt myself.
  20. Much as I'd like them to, they won't go down. They'll employ their usual scattergun approach to the January window and some of the money will pay off.
  21. ...and I thought our commentators were bad
  22. That was a dreadful penalty. Any penalty saved I suppose is a good save but Charlie made it far easier than it should have been, especially a striker whose only real contribution is supposed to be sticking it in the net. Agree about Hodgson, I wish more managers would say it like they see it. He gave a few interviewers grief last season for focusing solely on whatever reffing decision was most controversial and ignoring teams and tactics, and he's right.
  23. Looking far better than I expected, but still expect us to lose. Palace picked up towards half time and could easily have nicked one from the cross McCarthy missed.
