  12. My wife got ready for her night out with the girls, stood in the doorway and asked me to rate her. "Oh, 8 or 9 at least" I replied. "Out of ten?" she smiled. "That's very flattering." Didn't have the heart to tell her I meant pints.
  13. David Cassidy of the Partridge family has passed away. "Aha!" said his brother Alan on Radio Norfolk.
  14. If someone maintains that they identify as female, will they let me, I mean them, into the breastfeeding area for a good gawk? I'm, er, asking for a friend.
  15. I for one think it's a wonderful idea. People who identify as outside the false parameters of gender perceived as "normal" by the unenlightened masses need support and encouragement, and what better environment to seek it than in an intelligent, thoughtful, non-tribal and non-judgemental setting like the fanbase of your average British football club? This move is to be applauded, and I trust it will get the response it so richly deserves.
  16. What were we supposed to do about it then? Pool our resources and buy the club ourselves?
  17. This line gets spouted constantly in the media, but very few people on here suggest that nowadays because it simply isn't true any more. That was our business model; all that changed when we started tying down key players to long contracts, presumably to a/ keep the core of the squad together, and b/ dispel the widely-held belief that we are simply a "selling club" with no further aspirations. That was reinforced by our refusal to sell Van Dijk for what would certainly have been a UK transfer record for a defender. I'm not saying the idea has worked out as planned though, so far it clearly hasn't done much to improve us other than to make a wider point that we won't just roll over and sell any player to any club who feels like buying them for decent money.
  18. He needs one or two players in his general vicinity to make the sort of chances he supplied when Pelle was here. As long as the oppo penalty area remains out of bounds to our team he's not going to create what he used to. I still remember his first game against the dippers, that beautiful backheel for Clynes run. That would be almost unthinkable now.
  19. .....and what a hell of a scoop this news story is!! First line, what a zinger...."Liverpool may need to replace Philippe Coutinho one day".
  20. How do you manage to exist without the validation of your peers?
  21. You won't be able to go to the yellow pages after next year, it's the last print edition. Not that anyone is going to notice.
