  1. I'm not certain, but I think the echo report said one month for the drainage work then another three weeks for resurfacing. Beautifully timed to coincide with the chestnut avenue roadworks, plus they're about to close romsey road at the motorway bridge. I live in upton crescent, so can't put into words how much I'm looking forward to that.
  2. In fact, a strong contender for Whoosh of the Year
  3. I've applied for a Diners Club card. I'd tell you about it, but they have a very strict rule.
  4. Agreed. But panic not, I don't think he's a serious contender for the job.
  5. He has to go. Really, if we're to have any chance of staying up he has to go. But that said, who would want to come here at this stage, and how would this poll have fared straight after the west brom game?
  6. This. And this.
  7. He also seems to be unaware that the pensioners he rubs shoulders with aren't entirely representative of pensioners as a group. He bleats about them owning homes and having money to burn while the youngsters struggle to pay for the oldies lifestyles, but most pensioners I know are living in care homes funded by the sale of their houses, and have the square root of f*ck all left in savings. These are the same people who "had all the breaks" according to some on here, those breaks including living through a war and the financial aftermath of it.
  8. A word in your shell-like son, the terms "darkie" and "queer" are also frowned upon in some circles. Just a heads up.
  9. One poster blamed immigrants. One. And he immediately got jumped all over for it.
  10. "Winey". Possibly the most appropriate typo ever made
  11. Neither had I
  12. If you found that distasteful, I can't wait to see how you react when your assertion that it's all down to these f*cking immigrants hits the fan.
  13. To be fair, at least he stopped short of advocating euthanasia.
  14. "C*nt" doesn't directly attack a minority group in the way that "n*gger" or "queer" does, which is why you rarely hear the latter nowadays. If anything, "c*nt" seems to have become more acceptable than it used to be, I've heard plenty of women use the word. But I've never claimed to be perfect........
  15. I wish this site had a phone app. I've tried tapatalk half a dozen times now, always ended up uninstalling it.

    You are correct.
  17. Probably because we're the only one currently in the process of leaving the EU, and that inevitably brings uncertainty which is bound to spook the markets. However, that process won't last forever. We'll find out for ourselves what actually happens then, which I suspect won't be as gloomy as some would have us believe. I'm old enough to remember our ill-advised entry into ERM which the markets wholeheartedly endorsed, so given the disaster that caused us I'm kind of sceptical about the present doom mongering myself.
  18. What barbers? I bet his mum did that
  19. Nice job do you happen to work in PR? He sounds quite tempting, put like that.
  20. The 4th official told the ref if lovren touched the ball it's a pen, and the ref gave it. It ended up as a missed pen anyway. The irritating thing for me was hearing jenas and the unbiased lawrenson both agreeing that the rules of the game had been observed by the ref, but for some reason both pundits felt they shouldn't have been. Also worth noting they said the lamela foul was a pen and not a dive, although lamela had manouevred himself into a position to be fouled; but they both said it's still a foul, and that's the pen kane scored from, not the offside one. If the first pen had gone in klopp would have something to moan about, and imho would have also made it a damn sight funnier
  21. What if the ball had glanced off the liverpool player closest to alli on its way to kane?
  22. Not just about Lemina, either.... "How tragic then that Leicester's love affair with Mahrez has come to such a dramatic impasse. With a little bit of common sense, everyone would have won. Mahrez gets his move to Manchester City, Manchester City get the player and Leicester get a vast sum of money well in excess of what they paid for him. Now they have a distraction that will dominate their every press conference until it is resolved. Well done, Leicester." Crooks is a thick, grade-A c*nt. Why is he still employed? ....oh, hang on....
  23. He didn't. You could argue he deliberately put himself into a position where he was going to get kicked, but he got kicked.
