I disagree, it is exactly the sort of thing VAR should be getting involved in. Are you saying the best way to obtain a decision is to rely on a referee who was 30 yards behind the play with players obstructing his line of vision? My stance on VAR is simple; an opportunity to review a match-changing incident is sensible.

I’m delighted with VAR. Can you imagine the discussions there would be about our penalty incident had there been no VAR? The pundits would say something like ... that was close, I want to have a look it again, the referee was too far away to make a decision. With VAR they now have the opportunity to look at it again but, more importantly, so does an expert referee (who knows the laws of the game backwards). Given this, why the moaning? Time has been taken, the incident examined closely and a decision has been made.

I’m looking forward to hearing Dave Merrington have a stab at pronouncing his name.

Problem solved.

Can anyone help me out. I purchased a NowTV day pass about 10 mins before kick off but when I try to watch the match on the Now TV app Zi get a message saying I need a pass to watch. How do I activate the pass?
-
The solution would be to forego their Champions League fixtures. Just play the domestic league. Fewer matches, less travelling.

Especially pleased that we held out and didn't concede a stoppage time goal. Well done lads, a good point deservedly earned.

That’s the spirit!

Djenepo is showing a great reluctance to take on his man and get to the bye-Line. Presumably under instructions not to in case he gets stopped and leaves Stephens vulnerable down our left flank?

I’ll say 8 minutes in.

I'm with Ron on this ... Fantastic result and up to third. What's not to like?

We are looking much more intense than Everton, quicker, slicker and simply better. But can Everton be so poor in the second half? They can only improve. -
I would like to know how he defines "prosper mightily". This is a boast that requires a specific answer if it is to be taken seriously. Given the use of the word "mightily", can we expect sustained annual GDP growth of, say, 3~4%, and from when will this mighty prosperity start? Twelve months hence? Two years?

I was more concerned of the interest from Bristol City. -
The only time I have ever felt comfortable of us holding on to a lead was when were 8 goals up against Sunderland.
-
I doubt WBA can be so poor and unambitious in the second-half. We are looking good at times but often our approach play is a bit turgid. KWP and Vesti doing well.

A team with 12 players might just be what we need.

I fear we may regret not getting a second goal in that first-half. Spurs cannot be so poor again ... can they?

Of course we looked like scoring. Two superb saves from their goalkeeper made him many people's Man of the Match. -
Only 8-0 ? Lightweights!! You need to lose 9-0 to be truly humiliated.

The absence of Geoffrey Boycott has improved TMS immeasurably. What a relief not to hear about Yorkshire every other sentence! -
Shane Long signed a two-year contract extension - but this was earlier in the summer BBC report dated 4 June. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/52922596
