We can dream of finishing 4th! But the PL is a hard unforgiving marathon and we don't yet have the squad to do well - if we manage to get several top-class new players in then we would have every reason to have high hopes. I do think we need a top-class keeper and CB.

I must say I do agree with this. We needed a new CB and keeper before all the recent upheavals and now we also need at least one good striker, and a pacey midfielder. Now it increasingly looks like Lovren and/or Schneiderlin will be going so they need replacing. The current Saints set-up does come over as rather complacent and inactive. All a bit worrying.

Why don't we try to get Caulker - apparently Liverpool are after him as well. We need to bolster our defence and need another CB plus a goalkeeper.

I cannot understand the treatment of Jack Cork - I think he was generally excellent last year and we should sign him up for the longer term.

I say let Lallana go for £26 million - but not to Liverpool who have really treated Saints with contempt - as has Lallana himself. A bit more humility from Adam would not go amiss.

Yes I fully agree. The level of the commentary (and the punditry) has plumbed new depths. Some of the studio folk sound as if they are bored stiff.
