You're the first person I've heard say our CBs were fine last year. When Lovren was out injured we were in difficulties and now we have lost him. Fonte could be cover but we need two top-class CBs. solid as a rock, plus the new GK and a pacey striker. Then we can relax a bit.

I think he will struggle - but so will Lallana.

I can't see anywhere that Wanyama says we could struggle - he says it will be tough which is rather different.

I fully agree. The current crowd have been made to look rather naïve and out of their depth. Williams would have been a superb appointment.

I went to 2 days of the test match - excellent facilities and thoroughly enjoyed both days. The size of the crowd was disappointing though. The lift breaking down in the press centre has not helped our cause - Boycott made a big fuss about having to walk up several flights of stairs!

I don't think this one will happen - but some other good ones will.

yes I fully agree. When we played Man City at home my recollection is that we started with 7 English players and finished with 8 while they started with one English player and finished with none. Now it seems we are going in that direction - recruiting mercenaries from anywhere but England. It's a great shame.

He's English which puts a premium on him. But in a few years Chambers may well be worth £50 million or more - look at Bale. Wenger has been quite good in spotting our up-and-coming stars in the past - and he's just done it again.

Oh dear - looks bad at Derby. Poor bowling and unimpressive batting.

Perhaps it is time to stop selling players and replace them with better ones - I will be convinced when that happens and when we see the results on the playing field.

Yes Saints are currently the laughing stock - in the press, amongst other supporters and, more importantly, amongst the good people of Southampton if the comments I have heard are anything to go by. What a mess.

We clearly cannot believe a word that Les Reed utters. It has all been shown to be tripe. I think Les Reed is totally out of his depth.
