It wasn't a penalty - the majority on here seem to have better eyesight than some of the others. Mr Riley was - as usual - a hopeless referee who ruined the match. He also seems to find his partial partisan decisions and general levels of incompetence quite amusing with his silly smug grin.

The referee ruined the match - that's the view of five neutrals have spoken to separately. It obviously wasn't a penalty, unless you were a paid employee of manchester united.

Pretty good referee eh? Goal was offside, sending off was ridiculous, and he has awarded a penalty that no ManUre player even appealed for. Riley is a crook.

I must say that Riley has always been against Saints - a truly dreadful referee who basically wants to be the centre of attention..

That certainly did not warrant a straight red card - he kicked the ball first. Motson clearly doesn't think it should have been a red.

I don't feel at all confident - but with Saints anything can happen.

Given all the dire predictions on here - 0-5 seemed the prevalent view - this isn't a bad result. Taking 4 points from Reading is OK. The glass is half full. And we have shown it is possible for this side to score a goal!

The statistics say we had just TWO shots on target all match - frankly that is scandalous. Do they ever practise shooting? These are supposed to be professional footballers so they should at least get 8 or 10 shots on target during the match.

The stats show just 2 shots on target. Simply not good enough.
