5 - 3 - yes!
-
Oh dear oh dear. We still have a long way to go don't we?
-
That's more like it!
-
Only one win all season! Dreadful.
-
3 - 1 to Saints. Gate - 21,223.
-
Overall - disappointing - we really do need to put a winning run together, starting on Tuesday night. Draws are simply not good enough.
-
Winter draws on.
-
Well we won the cup and have several promising younger players coming through, but I thought we were disappointing in the Pro40 and on occasions in the Championship. I see plenty of hope for the future.:smt041

Well we don't seem to have ANY width at the moment and the service to the front men is generally hopeless. We need some pace and some width.
-
41 for 0 at the close - heading for a draw I assume.
-
Yorkshire all out for 348 - a lead of 3!

From Cricinfo: The score at the interval was 49, and the imminent landmark was reached immediately afterwards, as Sayers cut the first ball, from Tomlinson, to the boundary. Runs then began to flow, helped by a disastrous spell from Sean Ervine, who went for 35 runs in four overs, liberally sprayed with a wide and four no-balls. Sayers hit both his first two deliveries to the boundary and almost caught Rudolph, although taking most of the bowling. Rudolph reached his 50 off 99 balls, and three deliveries later Sayers joined him, off 123. Just before five o'clock, the news came through that Sussex had been dismissed for 243, and Yorkshire's bacon had been saved for another season; this was the third year out of four that they had earned a last-minute reprieve from Death Row. The opening stand went on to record 162 runs, at which point Rudolph fell for 68 (Sayers then 69) when he mistimed a drive to mid-on off Danny Briggs. David Wainwright saw out the day, leaving Yorkshire in provisionally the better position overnight.

I agree with all this, especially his lack of recognition by England. He should actually be out in South Africa right now.

Well I have a lot of time for Dimi - he has been a great servant and one of our best players - but I simply do not understand his reluctance to use the spinners more readily and to vary things when the opposition are making runs. Pothas seems to be a good captain when he gets the chance.
-
169 for 1. Briggs - 7 overs, 1 wicket for 12 runs. Your honour, I rest my case.
-
Surely not - I sincerely hope not anyway. At least Briggs is bowling now - and very economically. Sometimes i simply do not understand Dimi's bowling choices.
-
Ours not to reason why - asyou say, Briggs has only had one over and none from Dawson or even Adams etc. Strange but I suppose I'm not there!
-
106 for 0 alas. Ervine has bowled 4 overs for 35 runs - nearly 9 an over! What is the matter with his bowling? Why has Briggs only had one over (for 3 runs). Why not more use of spin??? Why, oh why, oh why?!
-
346 for 9 - surely we can get that extra point?
-
What a load of tripe on here! Lawrie Mcmenemy was manager during saints best years - we were evn runner up in the top division! He has his faults (most of us do) and maybe has a big ego but he was one of our best ever managers, if not the best ever.
-
227 for 4 at stumps (off 75 overs). Not a bad start - let's hope the weather holds.
-
136 for 2 off 50.
-
We are 90 for 0 off 31 - starting to look hopeful. Target - 400.
-
32 for 0 off 16 - slow scoring!
-
"Start delayed due to bad light" - what is going on in Leeds? The sun is beating down 100 miles south with excellent light!
