Just back - good day out - I thought Saints looked a bit complacent in the second half but we held on. Looking forward to the next round!

I think we will win this one.

I shall be there and would like us to put out a reasonable side. I would certainly put Bart in goal as i think that would increase our chances of a win.

Well we have managed to get 2 points from a possible 9 including two matches at home. That is pretty poor. We are conceding too many goals and the central defence, including the keeper, needs close examination. I think a lot of us have perhaps imagined we were better than we actually are. I feel quite gloomy having been quite optimistic a few weeks ago.

The number of goals we are conceding should be a major concern.

We are simply not as good as a lot fo us had hoped and thought.

How I wish you had been right - we are not as good as we think we are, alas.

Well these are all good points but the sad fact is that whatever defence is in front of him Davis concedes too many goals.

I agree.

yes I agree - he was one of our better players I thoguht and put in one or two first-rate crosses that should have resulted in goals.

We still have some big problems to solve.

We ran around a lot but when the crosses came in we were too often second to the ball. Brighton wanted to win it more than we did I fear.

Well I never thought we would score and thought they were always likely to score. I thought we were generally complacent, too big for our boots, and fairly clueless. Too many of our players were thoroughly anonymous and out of sorts - eg Hammond.

Simply dreadful defending by us - both Trotman and Jaidi made some horrible mistakes - and Harding was also found wanting several times. It shows how brittle our defence is. Also i couldn't see us scoring until the penalty (which was definitely a penalty) - we have to find a way other than pumping hopeful balls in at them.

We just have to keep winning and then we can look up in January and find ourselves heading for the play offs.

Well done saints - very good result and overall performance marred only by conceding in injury time.
