  4. poster looks a bit like an add for a circus one........ might open a candy floss stall for this game - anyone know where i'd get a permit to set up a stall?
  5. not looking good for us.... http://www.readingfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10306~2037497,00.html
  6. The "Big Bang" Theory..... so it all started with a Pompey Fan and A Brick, and there was me thinking it was God with a Paintbrush (Borrowed from Johnstons)
  7. I heard that Pompey can't afford a kit for next season, Andrew Andronikou has thanked Markus Liebherr for his offer to donate Saints 2009/10 Home Kit to Pompey for use next season in the Championship. Andrew Andronikou further thanked Markus Leibherr for offering to remove the "Flybe.com" and replace it with "Saints Are Best" in return for clearing the £30,000 owed to Southampton FC by Portsmouth FC as reported in their List of Creditors.
  8. you could put just about anything in front of the line and i'd agree with it :smt043
  9. Top 3 of the Season 1 - Lambert (Sensational) 2 - Jaidi (Solid and consistent all season) 3 - Hammond (Has been an excellent player at breaking up opponents attacks) Most Looking forward to next Season 1 - Lallana (Learnt a lot this season, still doesnt know how to play it simple - expect him to mature, a little less fancy and more simple direct football when we're 1 nill down) 2 - Schneiderlin (Expect him to be more disciplined, improve his creativity and score a couple of goals 4/5) 3 - Lambert/Barnard (Should be exciting having these two up front for a whole season!!)
  10. as a matter of fact it is!! everyone booked up for the final game of the season?
  11. I hardly think so, GDP as a percentage compared with the USA was lower in 1995 than it was in 1980 and only returned to a better level than 1980 in 2000. Inflation was steady but slowly increasing year on year for the 3 years before Labours 1997 victory and then steadily lowered for the next 3. By the Sounds of it, every one has forgot about the Saving and Loan scandel of 1990/91? Remeber, under a Tory government how the UK (as did most western nations) go into recession because of a shambles of a financial system in the USA which supprisingly, had a Bush President! They estimated the "Financial Bailout" (sound like a familiar term) at around 160 billion USD, paid for almost exclusivly by the US taxpayer. So when we here DC say that the Conservative party would never let a "Financial Crisis" happen by tighter regulation..... it makes you wonder..... The Political system needs to change, taking a look at the Polls, the Libs should be coming out tightly between all 3. Come may the 7th, it will be very clear that it was a two horse race, Blue and Red. Until Single Transferable voting for PR is introduced, Libs will always be #3. If however, STV was introduced, in every conservative strong hold, libs/ independent would be #2 and in a labour stronghold, libs / independent would be #2. In a system like that, the libs could come out as the leading party with more seats than anyone. Truth about Nick Clegg, well he has rocked a political system that needed a rocking, race on for number 10 now, will it be blue or red? I think Labour and Libs may form majority in a hung parliment.
  12. I reckon Rickie Lambert is miles better than MLT.............. at stealing hubcaps and other liverpudlian hobbies
  13. I know some of you missed the Yeovil game thanks to that Volcano..... Ryanair allow us to re-book flights, so I have re-booked mine for the Carlisle game. In the event that restrictions on flights still apply on Saturday, there is an alternative. Bus from Dublin to Rosslare on Friday evening (dept 17:30 arr 20:40) Ferry to Fishguard (dept 21:15 arr 00:45 Train to Southampton (Dept 01:50 - Change at Swansea and then again at Cardiff Arr 09:02) Train to Fishguard (Dept 19:10 Saturday, change at Cardiff, then again at Swansea - Arr 02:00 Sunday) Ferry to Rosslare (Dept 02:45 Sunday - Arr 06:15) Bus to Dublin (dept 7:30 arr back in Dublin at 10:50) I know its a bit of a trek, but surely worth it!!! Cost Approx £120 Return, depending on Train costs in Wales and England.
  14. I was missing yesterday. Been to 25 games this season and live in Ireland including the Northampton game at the start of the season when less than 11k turned up - i could just as easily say where were the extra 10k that turned up yesterday for that game back in sept? Not everyone has the exact same circumstances as you which might explain why we are not all as good as you at supporting the saints.. But on a serious note, if 21k turn up or 30k, so what? Its pretty obvious over the last few seasons that our core supporter base is about 20k fans, yeah if we were in the premier league we'd probably be close to sold out but thats probably got something to do with the fact that the premier league is one of the biggest best supported leagues in the world. Coca Cola League One isnt so don't expect miracles....
  15. Well if you look at this season with cup tied players etc, we havn't exactly fielded are strongest 11 anyway. On top of that, Pards made it very clear at the Start of the Season that he wanted us saints fans to have a day out in Wembley. He delivered, and by his own remarks, he knows what needs to be done next season. Then with NC stating that he wants 40% of the first team coming from the Academy, no better way than to give them a run out with some of the experienced players.
  16. Got up at 3am - missed the bus so had to get a taxi take me 50miles to Belfast City Airport. Arrived at 4:50 - no airport bars open. Met up with 4 more Irish Saints fans who arrived shortly after me. Got through security and amazed to find several more Saints and even Carlisle fans. 6:30 am, ryanair took off for London Stanstead. Boarded the Stanstead Express and cracked open a beer. Arrived at liverpool street, got tube to baker street and changed for wembley park. Arrived at wembley for about 9:30am ish.... walked wembley way - hair standing up. Awesome, trecked to ticket office with one of the Irish Saints fans, his ticket had not arrived in the post on time so had to collect from the west ticket office - when he got it we were fLuking amazed - his seat was directly behind me up in block 531.... brilliant - walked round wembley and down to Ibis - checked in and got stuck into more beers. Met some Saints fans who couldn't believe we had a Supporters club in Ireland. Anyway, headed up to wembley for about 1, into the ground, found my seat and the rest was history.
  17. I walked into a sign post outside wembley near the Ibis - i'd say a couple of hundred saw me!! No doubt someone has a vid of it.... probably be on youtube before to long..... so freaking embarrasing... mates have been taking the p*ss out of me!!
  18. I've been trying to get trough on the 08456889391 "designated" number for Wembely ticket sales. Of course, in typical fashion they don't have a queueing system and so its constant redialing..... any one got an alternative number to use? Basically, its Tuesday and my postman has just been, still waiting on the tickets I ordered on this day last month..... the tickets I ordered during the MK Dons sales period arrived last week but I am starting to worry that the tickets I ordered as a Season Ticket holder have not arrived :-(
  19. I suppose they sent my second batch (Mk dons sales) out alphabetically to me first name...... still awaiting my batch from season tickets but then again, my surname starts with "S" so I suppose they must be nearly there by now!!! I just hope they arrive - can ticket office re-print if not? I'm away from home from Thursday so if they ain't arrived by then.... im fuoked.
  20. i'm on the choo choo again tomorrow for the hartlepool game- anyone else?
  21. Right - The ones I ordered through the MK Dons Area Final sales period arrived today.... the two I ordered as a season ticket holder on the first day they went on sale haven't? Should i be worried?
  22. Hey hey..... someone agree's with me!! I've been trying to pick 2nd place since January!! Its a tough one, I hate going against Willie Mullins and he has 2 very good horses in this race, but Oscar Wiskey is unbeaten and Barry G has come good with some great results against all odds. If Dunguib makes a mistake (and his jumping is not the best of the field) then who knows but anytime i've seen Oscar Wiskey he has done what is required and taking the last he hit the fence over the last fence, didnt run on but still won by 2 lenghts (over 20 lenghts to 3rd) before that around xmas, he won comfortably again by around 7/8 lenghts.... that commands respect
  23. Best place to do this is with PaddyPower - they are offering single win stakes back on all loosers if Dunguib wins, If dunguib wins (which i think it will) and oscar wiskey places(which i think it will) then you get your win stake back and you win your place! Hard to see anything else - My banker for the festival at a great price It fits in the tight window of past winners, ie weight, official rating and age. No thoughts on the others - Whilst Noel Meade's Cheltenham history isnt a great one, Go Native has a million pound to pick up for Stable, owners and jockey..... incentive is there and more importantly, the winning form.
  24. Ok, so here are my best picks for Cheltenham DAY 1 1. Oscar Wiskey @ 12/1 Each Way (1:30 Supreme Novices 16th) 2. Captin Cee Bee @ 3/1 (2:05 Arkle 16th) 3. Go Native @ 7/2 (3:20 Champion Hurlde 16th) 4. Khachaturian @ 20/1 Each Way (2:40 William Hill Trophy 16th) **5** Southampton to beat Swindon Asian Handicap - 1 @ 2/1 DAY 2 1. Right of Passage @ 3/1 (2:05 Novices Hurlde 17th) 2. Punchestowns @ 7/2 (2:40 RSA 17th) 3. Al Ferof @ 8/1 Each Way (5.15 Bumper 17th) DAY 3 1. Smoking Aces @ 14/1 Each Way (2.05 Pertemps 18th) DAY 4 1. Kauto Star 4/7 (3.20 Gold Cup 19th)
