  1. I agreed but the off field events will soon impact negatively on the on field events. Not wanting to be a doom merchant but the credit crunch has not yet peaked, and therefore the club's ability to generate new income over the next 12mths is going to be very challenging or near impossible. I hope the guardians running our club are seriously searching for investment but I worry that Rupert is too focused on retaining power and will take the club to the brink of administration before talking to rival factions who could improve our financial wellbeing during these difficult times.
  2. On the field we are almost settled but we are hardly settled off the pitch. What with Wilde looking for a way out and Lowe dithering with potential investors. Does he sell and save the club but loose his executive postion or does he stick it out and hope we avoid administration?
  3. Desperate to sell since Dec 07? Him joining forces with Lowe has always been about strengthening his selling position. Is he using Lowe? I think so.
  4. Interesting comment:rolleyes:
  5. George Burley made too many bad signings. Hone should have been shot for paying silly wages to the likes of Rasiak, Idiakez, Safri etc.
  6. Nowadays our club just can't afford the average wages that footballers expect in this league. We're a struggling bottom-half CC club, our stadium debt and operating costs are a major handicap and accounts for about a quarter of our income.
  7. lol. There is one born every minute;)
  8. Anyone got any ideas what the likely attendance is going to be? 14800?
  9. Do you think Lowe would be willing to sell to a rival faction, even if the deal on offer would avoid us going into administration?
  10. Ouch! Not sure how sponsorship, corporate and other matchday income affects the breakeven figure.
  11. Found the answer. Seven homes games with average attendance of 15781. http://soccer-stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/D1/attend.html No wonder Barclays are unhappy. CC home attendances to date 18,925 15,629 14,916 14,836 14,480 17,454 14,226 The trend is 14-15K
  12. What's the average attendance to date?
  13. Dictatorial management does not equal evil:rolleyes: It's just a style of management which some like and some don't.
  14. But what's your answer? Who's more important SFC or who runs the shop? Back to your question. If an executive is involved in meetings to discuss team selection then IMHO it is wrong whether that be the England team, Chelsea or Saints. But there have been enough hints from some well respected forum members indicating his involvement;)
  15. Please stop using this anti/pro card it's rather boring and unnecessary. I'm pro SFC, don't care who runs the club as long as they are representing the best interests of the club, community and fans. What about you?
  16. I'm happy for Lowe to be involved in meetings to discuss transfers, loans, contract etc but team selection meetings, no way. As the boss, if he expresses the view that James should play at right back that puts unnecessary pressure on JP to put Jame at rightback. Next we'll be arguing about whether Lowe should be Director of Football;)
  17. Heard of the term empowerment? Lowe ' The Ego has Landed' follows a very dictatorial path which is a form of management that is outdated nowadays (1970s British Leyland). He should be setting the framework but not be involved in crucial team selection meetings. JP and the other coaching staff must feel like he does not trust them!
  18. This is plainly wrong. Someone like WGS would not put up with this level of executive interference.
  19. It's a small world. Jimmy is coaching at Seattle Sounders (part owned by Paul Allen) Found these two really good articles about Jimmy's playing and coaching career: http://soccerseattlestyle.com/wp/?p=65 http://soccerseattlestyle.com/wp/?p=71
  20. Still not out yet!
  21. From the first link: The assets are the football team, and as long as you have a decent football team it's going to feed into the top line revenues," he continues. "But if you're not investing in your football team on an annual basis, your business model becomes constrained because gate receipts and TV revenues are dependent upon success on the pitch. If you don't get the right manager or team together, that makes your life very difficult." Sounds familiar;)

  23. Own up who added the two comments?
