Cant handle pace Too slow reacting to quick set pieces Too prone to direct attacks at the beginning off the match/second half Defensive midfield that err..... cant really defend All that said the side has come a hell of a way in a short space of time and this will be addressed.

That,s the problem with having to score at least 3 goals a game in order to get a result,when you cant manage it you lose.Will not get anywhere near the playoffs with a defence that cannot handle any opposition with pace up front.

Agree with most of what you say. Its comments like " If we keep playing like that we will win most of our games" that I get fed up of hearing. The fact is we dont,not have for a few years and by what I have seen this season,is not likely to now.Play crap and fail to win,play well and still fail to win. As someone said on another post, most teams in this league are inferior to us,have poorer players,less resources etc but can still win a better proportion of their games than us.You say it augers well for January,why January ,apart from the transfer window ? If this form continues till then,I am afraid that "January "will be too late.

Dont worry,someone will tell you in a minute that things take time to gel,we are still having our pre season,our defence is now solid,Pardew can see what needs doing,plenty of games still to go etc etc etc. What they cant see is its crap, it will be crap by xmas,crap by easter, crap at the end of the season.

Agree, some members of the midfield will not score goals if they played 1000 games also none are capable of getting down the wings to supply decent crosses. On top of this we have only one person that can take corners...... poorly !

The only thing that worries me from todays game is that we have taken the leagues top scorer and have turned him into an isolated.ineffectual cart-horse.

Must be the only team that likes to " attack" towards its " kop " end in the first half and then lets its opponents have the benefit of kicking towards their own fans in the second.....strange.

Can,t argue with anything you,ve said.With regards to the lack of signings today,I would rather bring in nobody than mercenary panic buys,we have had our fair share of these over the years,Nilsen,Jakobsen,Van Damme,McCann Anyone? However I think that ML,s five year plan to get back into the Prem will take at least another two years as I fear we will be working up from L2.

One thing I would like to see change is someone getting through to the players that the first option when passing is not back to the keeper when half way up the pitch.

Playing well and still not winning is ok as long as it evened up by those games where we play crap but still win. But that never happens,thats whats so annoying.
