A victory for the team who got the ball forward quickly against the side that played sideways and backward football, just like us against Boro. Play like that against Coventry and we will deserve all that coming to us.

I know this sounds negative, but I really think we have blown it. Two wins and a draw now probably required- not going to happen. To win the play-offs requires bottle, nerve determination and luck, I believe we will be found wanting there also.

The reason Reading " defended well " is that we are too slow getting forward .With multiple sideways or backward passes THEY HAD THEIR WHOLE BLOODY TEAM BACK BY THE TIME WE GOT TO THE EDGE OF THEIR BOX.

Too slow getting forward. Too vulnerable to pace at the back. Too many square balls. Too reliant on back passes to the keeper.

A bit less silly now and with the obvious bottle ,drive and graft now wanting the scenario will play out.

I know that the maths will say otherwise but I think anything less than a win tomorrow will lead to us ending in third place. Games against the likes of Blackpool or Brighton in the play offs, we will blow.

I think what you mean is how does a non tactical astute manager, manage to take a newly promoted team to the top of the championship. Yes sure we are top and have up to now have done more than most of us have dared hope. However warning signs have been ignored in particular lack of cover up front ( a non fully fit Barnard being the ONLY striker to feature in todays game ). Adkins / the team went about todays game in exactly the same way as the Bristol game, from which NOTHING appears to have been learnt. It is obvious that De Ridder is a far better impact player than he is when starting and that certain combinations of midfielders also do not work ( as cited by others on here ). Our build up play which at home is effective is not working well in away games, where we need to move the ball forward quicker and may also help in not getting caught on the counter attack which we now seem prone.I would have been more than happy to finish mid table before the season started but considering our present position I think that the club feels its mission completed and nothing more needs to be done both on or off the pitch. We all know that it doesn,t quite work that way.

It amazes me that people think he is an astute tactical manager. The team lacks pace up front,nothing is done. Team very vulnerable to being caught on the break, nothing is done. De Ridder, impact player, crap when starting,Guly,luxury player we cant really afford away from home. Been short of a striker,evident to everyone, nothing done. Opponents do their " homework " on us but do Saints bother on them, I do wonder sometimes.

Why go to all of the expence of going to the game just to moan when you can do it on here for the price of a bit of electricity .

FWIW I think we have peaked, the team generally lacks pace up front and is vulnerable to pace at the back. We will not get a better chance of promotion ( I feel ) than we do now from the position that we are in, but I feel the club are happy to carry on as we are rather than "making a statement of intent" and nailing a top two position.
