A lot of people seem to be looking at an exit from this as a blessing in disguise, a chance to concentrate on the league. Who knows , we might finish high enough to qualify for Europe next season.

A far more realistic outcome than a top 6 finish from what we have seen so far.

Tie far from over. I cannot see the Danes playing any better than they did last night, where we surely cannot be any worst despite having plenty of chances. The next three games will set up the season, or be an omen for things to come ?

The known facts are. 1 AM did not want Toby 2 Toby did not want to stay at AM 3 AM knew that they could get a better price than our initial offer. 4 Toby wanted his move sorted out early in pre season. Spurs want Toby, offer a good price to AM and Toby gets himself sorted. Everyone is happy.

A valid question and similar to one I posted yesterday that was equally well received. Much depends on WHO makes the comment rather than it,s content. The most disappointing thing with the "situation" with Saints ( and I admit I am wrong in thinking otherwise ) is that with the higher the team finishes, the less likely the player poaching. However this appears to get worse for us , not better, would understand it more if we were a lower placed side but this appears not to be the case. Until we retain our better players to a better degree , we will never progress from where we are now. That may be fine, but everyone including the club needs to accept this.

He,s gone , get used to it. Yet another player set to join our nearest rivals. We have hit our glass ceiling in this league with our inability to retain our better players and there is no way we are going to produce enough of our own lads ( that are good enough ) to progress. Keeping ahead of the Swansea,s and Stoke,s of this league is all we can manage. Yes throwing stupid money around just to compete with the big boys is not the way to go, but at the same time everyone, club , fans, media etc should just shut up about progressing to Champions League level.

The message to the clubs above is that we can on our day give you a run for your money, but ultimately we cannot compete with you. To the teams below , like a strengthening Swansea, we have peaked, come and have a go.

As Clyne doesn't play in our U21 team, does it make any difference to him if we are in the ER ?

1 Did not replace JRod when it was pretty obvious he was out for the season. 2 Paid 12M for a proven 6 goal a season striker. 3 Paid 10m for a keeper who is only slightly better than what we had. 4 Did replace the poor back up keepers with someone better. 5 Did not replace Lallana with a goal scoring midfielder 6 Replaced the ineffective Ramerez with three similar ineffective players. 7 Did not get the deadwood of the books. 8 Did not strengthen in Jan to cover for suspensions and injuries. 9 Become complacent with regards to European qualification ( re this weekends newspaper story regarding playing the U21,s ) 10 Koemans limited ability to recruit players from outside of the Dutch league.

Whether you think that the Europa league is a waste of time or not, I , at the beginning of the season would have regarded getting into Europe as a success. Success for Saints appears to be developing young players to sell to other clubs and not a lot more matters.

Punchless up front , porous at the back, we really have become a poor side. Got all the points we are going to get this season, what a waste of a promising season .Next season WILL be a wake up call
