  1. I asked Barrie in the Farmhouse last night and he told me they are opening at 10am.
  2. I know a lot of you won't like this suggestion because of the song it is based on, but I reckon this could be a perfect way to erase some of the pain from that horrible day at Fratton Park. To "Amarillo" Show me the way to Zamaretto The taxman's got Pompey biting the pillow Show me the way to Zamaretto We're division 3 and Wem-ber-leeeee
  3. I recommend Bruno Metsu.
  4. The Uglies Suburban Casuals Southampton Inside Crew Have all been "firms" associated with Southampton over the years.
  5. How spooky, I started watching this last night. Have had it on DVD for ages but not gotten around to it. I had run out of Sopranos to watch until a work colleague re-ups me with season 3, so decided to take the plunge. Very well observed and acted, I thoroughly enjoyed the opening episode. Was good to see some old HBO regulars in it, like James "Ziggy" Ransome and Tobias Beecher from Oz, even spotted that creepy serial killer bloke out of The Shield in it. Really captures what is going on over in the Middle East, had to laugh at the Pizza Hut delivery and the R.Lee Ermey-esque drill sarge character. Only caught the opening episode last night, will be dipping back into it tomorrow due to the little matter of the Saints match tonight.
  6. Stacey Slater - for deffo. The mental illness just makes her more vulnerable and attainable Shakira - for obvious reasons, particularly that rather incredible video recently Ludivine Sagnier - hot French actress, check her in the film Swimming Pool Elin Grindemyr - porny looking Swedish bombshell Sharon Stone - still got it

  8. I originally posted this on the other thread, but I reckon it is a good 'un worth repeating. To the tune of "Who Ate All The Pies?" Who had all the thais Who had all the thais You skate bastard, you skate bastard You had all the thais
  9. Am after a ticket, not a fully paid up forumite but can be emailed at bigseany1979@live.co.uk if anyone can help. I live in Northam close to the ground but not been able to get over to queue due to a family crisis. Oh, and I don't have a debit card! Thanks in advance if a very kind someone can help.
  10. I will find this out later, is my local and forgot to ask when I was in there this saturday. Northam Club is definately opening - members are allowed in but cannot sign anyone in. Other Saints fans can buy tickets for entry and these are available at the next home games prior to the Portsmyth game. There is always plenty of room in there, it is very close to the ground, a large smoking area and cheap burgers, chips and hotdogs are available. Like Stu says, most pubs are going to open aren't they? They stand to make plenty of money, and the whole myth about pubs closing their doors and all kinds of trouble in pubs is mostly pie in the sky. If there is going to be any bother on the day, then it is hardly going to be right slap bang in the middle of town or in a busy pub. It will be off the beaten track.

    I Hate N-Dubz

Did anyone read the story about him in the news a week or so ago? Someone had the audacity to criticise him via text message to the Chris Moyles Show. Being the sub-Oxide & Neutrino f**ktard that he is, Dappy couldn't just let it lie and go and finger some chav groupies in the back of his limo, or something. No, he subjected this horrified female fan to a series of horrific, threatening text messages, which are packed with poor grammar, swear words and intimidation. What a little tool. http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2010/jan/15/ndubz-dappy-death-threats
  12. Watching the Sopranos as per my earlier post. Iced the first season yesterday morning, then watched three episodes of the second last night. Thus far I would say it is on a par with some of the best television I have ever had the privilege to see. It has everything - great acting, brilliantly written dialogue, lots of humour, references to other gangster-genre films, some world class swearing (When Uncle Jun fell in the shower and exclaimed "Sister's c**t!" I was laughing for about five minutes) and even some decent eye candy. I love it!!!!!!!!
  13. Precious Went along to Harbour Lights last night to see this. It tells the story of an illiterate, obese 16 year old black teenager in 1987 Harlem, who is routinely abused both physically and verbally by her mother, sexually abused by her absent father, and picked upon and teased by her peers. She has a child with Downs Syndrome by her father, and is pregnant again with her second child. Thanks to a kindly headmistress, Precious enrols in an alternative education programme, where she meets other troubled teenagers with whom she forms a bond and starts to come out of her shell. Meanwhile, a concerned social worker digs into the girl's troubled home life and this leads to a shocking final scene in which the mother tries to explain why she resents her daughter and allowed the horrendous abuse to take place. While the subject matter is pretty horrific and relentless, there is a soft core to the film and I found myself chuckling at the antics of the teenagers in their class. There are very likeable turns from Paula Patton (playing the protagonist's kindly teacher), Lenny Kravitz as a conscientious and caring male nurse, and Mariah Carey - the latter goes a long way toward banishing the memory of Glitter with her understated performance here. In her movie debut Gabourey Sidibe shines in the lead. She plays the part with incredible intensity and instantly from the get go she has our sympathy. But Precious is all about the performace of Mo'nique in the role of Mary, the abusive mother. An incredible, hateful tour de force, she will stay with you for a long time. I for one spent a while lying in bed last night thinking about what I had just seen. The film concludes with a scene of immense power (and bravery on the part of the actress) and quite frankly I think the Best Supporting Actress Oscar is now nailed-on. Previously the actress has appeared in crap like Soul Plane and Half Past Dead. Her killer switch to serious drama reminded me of how Marlon Wayans stepped up his game for Requiem For A Dream. Her time on screen is astonishing. I thoroughly enjoyed this moving, excellently acted film. 8.5/10 Oh and prior to the film was a trailer for A Prophet - which I am going to go and see asap!! Also, the new Miyazaki film - called Ponyo - looks completely ace. Can't wait til that comes out!!!!!!
  14. Bring plenty of money then. They charged me £3.70 for a pint of Heineken in there the other night, bloody thieving rob-dogs.
  15. To the tune of "Who Ate All The Pies?", directed at Avram: Who had all the thais Who had all the thais You skate bastard you skate bastard You had all the thais
  16. True story. Back when we played Portsmyth in the league during the 2003 season, I had gone to see a mate in Northam after the game, and perhaps about an hour after the final whistle I walked up to catch a bus back home (I lived in Sholing at the time) at the bus stop near the old Meridian building. I was stood waiting for a bus, on my own, when all of a sudden a white transit van pulled up alongside the bus stop and the side door opened. Inside the back of the van was John and his lowlife crew of tattooed hangers on. Wa*kwood was giving it the "come on then" hand gestures to me and they were all screaming "Come on scummer" "F-ing scum" etc etc. I simply stood there, spread my arms wide and offered them to get out of their van, along with a sprinkling of abuse. I looked right into his eyes, the tosser. There were about four or five of them in the back of a grubby white transit van. And they did not get out, they just sped away. So if you are reading this John, congratulations on what a massive set of balls you have. If you intended to scare me that day, you failed miserably. In fact, seeing your predicament actually made me laugh. I hope you enjoyed being crammed into the back of what looked like a rape van with your minging cronies, you pathetic, revolting Skate bumhole.
  17. So then - Saints vs Colts in the Superbowl - and Saints vs C**ts in the FA Cup. Happy days. WHO DAT
  18. I haven't had a season ticket for a few years now, but still go to most home games - even more so now that I live in Northam a stones throw away from the ground. I have been to every previous P***smouth derby at St Marys, the two league games, Carling Cup and FA Cup and at no point was there a problem getting a ticket even when we were a relatively successful Premier League side. Maybe this is because a lot of people particularly families don't fancy it with the threat of trouble, but I am confident of being able to get a ticket. I would imagine it would be televised, it is easily the pick of the ties out of the whole draw, some really dull sounding matches perhaps with the exception of a possible Villa/Wolves derby. That should increase the chances of getting a ticket, too.
  19. One of the bestest debut albums ever, that.

    NFL

The Jets seems to have a real belief in themselves - however you can never count out the Colts - Peyton and the boys have looked solid this season and I think it may be a little too early for Mark Sanchez. Every year a friend and I get together to watch the Superbowl - stay up all night, eat a big chili and drink loads - we have done this for years and my pal is a huge Jets fan. He actually used to coach and play gridiron himself and is very passionate and knowledgable about the sport. I got into it when I was about 10 or 11 (am 30 now) and have always followed the Pack - so part of me is hoping for a Jets/Vikes Superbowl - because Brett is one of my all time sporting heroes. Agree with the poster who said the Vikes/Saints should be a corker. And for once I think I am in a position where for one reason or another I actually don't mind any of the teams in the championship games - Jets because one of my best buds loves them, Colts because I am a big fan of Manning (I even own a Colts shirt with his name on it), New Orleans because I think the city really deserves something special to happen to them after all they have been through (plus Drew Brees is a total dude) and the Vikings because my all time favourite player has another incredible, unlikely shot at adding another ring to his finger!! Man I love the NFL.

  25. We need a striker. Paterson is a good prospect but lacks confidence, hence why he previously declined to goout on loan (correct me if I am wrong on that count). Waigo is an exciting pacy player who has scored a few but for me gets caught offside far too much and cannot possibly lead the line on his own. Jamie White has only just come back from loan and is young and inexperienced. Lambert and Connolly are both excellent but if either of them get injured or need a rest (and Lambo has looked tired on occasion) we are pretty weak in that department. I can't comment on Barnard or Jackson as I have never seen them play. What we need is a player like the Argentine lad at Leeds, he seems to link up well with Beckford, gets stuck in and is all-action. Not suggesting we would sign him, mind. Brett Pitman can appear lazy and a bit cumbersome at times but I reckon he has a bit extra in his locker to step up a level. And that comes from someone who has watched him a few times this year and seen him score. As for Brian Stock on the midfield front, he was always excellent for the Cherries, used to enjoy watching them when they had Stock and Fletcher in midfield, with Hayter and Big Fletch up front. Stock always looked a cut above. I hope we can sign him.
