Yet again, no mobile site for it, or official app. Disappointed.
-
Not sure how to edit it but mods feel free to delete if inappropriate. As for "if true", I have absolutely no reason to make up a cock and bull story, not my style, just passing on this chance encounter, as my pathetic little ITK debut. Sorry

Oops yeah fair enough!

Just been fishing down Marchwood and bumped into a bloke walking his dog wearing the new training top, said he worked at Staplewood in "player recruitment". He told me that Tadic looks "amazing", and when I quizzed him on the rumour my friend who works as a coach for a Championship club told me today (Saints in for Forster) he gave me what could be described as a knowing look. Also said Lovren is off.

Huntelaar is angling at a move to England, apparently. Speculation linking him to Arsenal and (inevitably) Liverpool. Would be a terrific signing even at 30 years old. Has Ronald worked with him previously?
-
This instantly makes you more endearing than many of the regulars on here. Of course you are welcome.

Joel Campbell was absolutely sensational in the second half of the Costa Rica game the other night. Cant see Arsenal taking him back, he would be a good signing for us.

I live in Millbrook, work in Northam/Bevois Valley/St Marys area, and carry my swaps around with me like a thirtysomething child.
-
I have a big pile of swaps Colin, if you are local I am happy to meet up - I am now just 11 stickers away from completion though!!!

Frank De Boer and Ajax have been quite up front about the fact Spurs have informally approached - heard that Daniel Levy was annoyed that they had gone public to confirm this fact, going as far as to deny it - he strikes me as being a very underhanded chap, and something of a control freak, who is potentially going to miss out on an opportunity to land one of Europe's most promising managers in the Dutchman. I really dislike Spurs, their capacity to hinder their own progress is incredible. Based upon the work that Cu*tknapp did, they should be top four on the reg.

I think I need about 30-40 - havent used the app as it goes against the purity of collecting - have managed to get all of the Saints players now - Gaston, Dejan and Maya. The most elusive stickers for me have been the Dutch, I only have around half of them and havent even had so much as a sniff of Van Persie or the excellently named Bruno Martins Indi. Had to laugh, needed one of the Greece team to complete them - the seemingly elusive Tziolis. Was only when going through my swap pile I realised I had him not once but three times - and had failed to recognise him due to the fact that quite a number of the Greek lads look quite similar with dark hair and beards.

Got mine today. Bitterly disappointed that there are no Saints in the England section. That said, Gaston Ramirez, Maya Yoshida and Dejan Lovren are all present and correct. I am 34.

Pulis Bigs Up Saints Academy (and Saints in general)
Seany S replied to Seany S's topic in The Saints
I am mates with Bill Stroud's son (Billy, also a superb sportsman at amateur footy and cricket and a brillisnt bloke, incidentally)and did know this! Pulis is a decent guy. -
Love him or loathe him, Pulis is very complimentary in this article from our terrible local newspaper. Worth reading the comments for a bizarre descent into discussion of the crisis in the former Soviet union. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/11060139.Palace_boss_hails_Saints_academy/?ref=mr

The late Bruno Metsu would have been an ideal replacement for the outgoing MoPo.
-
Odd that everyone seems to have forgotten Townsend. Not sure that he has been starting for Spurs but there can be no denying his impact recently for England.
-
That was me. Van Dijk looks like an excellent player. We will see what happens (probably sod all).
-
Heard that Saints had a scout at Easter Road at the weekend, watching Fraser Forster but impressed by Van Dijk. Source is a mate who coaches for another Prem team at youth level and is a Hibs diehard. Also said Derek Riordan is on his way back to Hibs. NEVER ever posted an ITK rumour on here so be gentle with me if it is a pile of bawbags.

Voice of reason right there. After the Ba goal went in, I threw a bit of a wobbly and stormed out of the room as us blokes are prone to doing. But then I thought about it - not many teams are going to get anything at the Bridge this season, and it is another difficult away fixture out of the way. All of the positivity and talk of a top four finish really has raised my expectations too high I guess! Am not really sure how much more game time we can afford to give Osvaldo if he is going to play like he did yesterday. He was ineffective, even if the odd refereeing decision went against him. There were a few positives about the game. I thought Shaw looked sensational at times. One moment where he shielded the ball to usher it out for a goal kick, all executed under pressure from the Chelsea player, and whilst sliding on his knees - was particularly impressive. The fact we were able to compete effectively for 50-odd minutes with a side that are going to be in with a shout of winning every competition they are involved in was heartening.

Am with you on this one brah. Southgate is doing a fine job so far with the youngsters, and he seems to recognise the importance of our youth teams doing well and how it fits in with the senior setup, far more than Stuart Pearce managed. The barrier here is going to be whether many of these lads get to play regular high-level football, or indeed have the technical ability to begin with. Cast your mind back to when England got their dinner pushed back in by the Germans in the 2009 U21 final. Ozil, Khedira, Neuer, Boateng, Hummels - all cornerstones of a German side likely to do well at the next world cup. This is because they all play regular football week in, week out, for Champions League calibre sides. In the England team? Milner, Johnson, Cattermole, Noble, Crainie, Onuoha, Rodwell, Walcott. All players who have had decent enough careers but none of them would be in the same bracket as those German players mentioned. In fact the only player in that England squad who would be anywhere near an England starting XI now would be Arsenal's excellent Gibbs or Joe Hart. One would like to think that Hughes, Ward-Prowse and Tom Carroll would go on to establish themselves but it is up to teams like Saints to give the young players a sporting chance of doing so. The young players from English CL teams who do get in the squad simply arent good enough are they? Case in point: Manchester United fans question the inclusion of Cleverley and Jones in their own side, let alone England.

I love the introduction sequence to this episode, which features some real ugly goalmouth bundles - one part of it shows four or five Saints players falling around and hacking each other on the deck.

Don't get all colloquial with us, with your "pal".
