Mate i can't recommend highly enough travel lodge covent garden at the top end of drury lane , bordering holborn. Used it a few times , cheap too considering it's a 5 min walk from covent garden and 10 min from leicester square, plus the oldest pub in london ( the white hart) you won't find cheaper that central.

That 84 moran goal v the skates..in the corner by the fence seperating us from skates stood an old chap of about 90 with a zimmer frame who luckily the ob moved, he would have probably died if he'd stayed there :-O
