  1. We match them for goal threat but I reckon their defence is light years better than ours. But on the positive side it's likely they will lose a couple of players (Beckford and Snodgrass) in the transfer window and we looking to buy. If we can get past MKD I reckon it will be a close game in the JPT
  2. You really are one thick Skate! Pull your head out of your a#se and assume "crash Position" not long to go now and its gonna hurt like ****
  3. Anyone but the skates at home. Dont wanna be giving them 45% of gate reciepts from what would surely be a sell out crowd.
  4. Pes I personaly hope you do survive. I regularly drink in a pub in Salisbury frequented by quite a few Skates and in fairness they were not gloating at all through all the chaos last summer. as genuine footy fans we should all be worried at where the games going (well maybe not us as were minted!) Id just be happy playing and beating you twice a season! I do of course look forward to your relegation but won't be gloating myself. What comes round goes around etc
  5. This gives them time for one final "fire sale" in January but the sale of players and 4 being lost to the African Nations Cup will just make it an even slower and more painful death. Nice! Having said that I'd hate it for them to go out of business just want to see them at their rightful level. At least 2 leagues below us is about right!
  6. I completely agree with you. My point was the fact that neither are getting a long enough run in the side to gain confidence and fulfill their potential. Impossible to accomodate both in the team unless one is used as an out and out striker.
  7. Maybe not for long. The chopping and changing between Papa and Antonio leads me to believe that AP is not overly convinced by either of them but just maybe if Antonio went back in Jan it might give Papa a chance to shine as he undoubtedly has the potential. In MHO Antonio rarely has a good game when he starts and is much more effective as a "late impact" player
  8. Of course he knows the offside rule. I think its more a case of not anticipating what others around him are doing. He obviously has a certain level of skill and on occasions gets back well to cover but surely he needs a run in the side. This isnt a dig at Pardew but he still doesn't know whether to play Papa or Antonio and the only way either of them will improve is by being given a decent run of games.
  9. I think the point here is that it's a "toys out of the pram" reaction from people who up until now have been completely professional. Hopefully the facts will soon come out.
  10. Well done Bill Cowsky!
  11. He also says we've got someone in goal called "Bill Cowsky"
  12. Lucy Pinder Santa stripogram! :smt040
  13. Of course money does not make a fan any more or less genuine Dell Days. My point being the amount of fickle prem league fans that jump ship in the hard times leaving what I class as genuine support still going week in week out thru the hard times. Poopey season ticket I believe is currently approx £650. My concern is the spiralling cost of supporting a prem league team.
  14. What concerns me (purely personal view) Is what the cost of a season ticket would be by the time we get to the premier league assuming that we are going to be run on a self funding basis. I reckon in 5 years time even with 32k fans you wouldn't get much change from £1000+! Add on travel expenses etc and many ordinary long serving fans would be priced out. I'd be happy winning the Championship year after year (yes I know it's not possible) and stuff the Premier league. Have felt for a few years now that the championship is a much better league for genuine fans.
  15. Well said S.o.g Not just Pardew but the whole coaching and backroom team deserve credit. I know its still early days but in just 4 months we have gone from being a laughing stock to the position that many clubs in this division and higher will look upon with envy. We now have a sound financial base and are on the way back. Still can't believe there are still so many just waiting to p*ss on the optimism parade. Wearing the shirt with pride once again COYR
  16. "Ding dong Merrington on high"
  17. Good old Dave Merrington "what we dont want to do now is concede a goal" No sh*t Dave FFS
  18. Can we try starting games 442 please Mr Pardew?
  19. To tune from Banana splits La La La La Lallana La La La La Lallana Not too many words to remember when im p*ssed!
  20. I hope you plied the painter with that dodgy polish paintstripper you're drinking and convinced him to paint the stairwell red and white stripes Phil
  21. Could be an emulsional last half hour.
  22. So far this season I feel we have struggled to find a system that gets the best out of Adam Lallana. I know AP is well aware of his skill and potential and has been trying to build a formation around him in the same way we had to with MLT. Yesterday I think AP got it spot on and we looked a far more balanced side. My only concern is if Morgan can be more defensively minded to do the job that I thought Paul Wotton did so effectively yesterday (not brilliant but effective) A poss dilemna for Mr Pardew at Saaarfend on friday if Morgan is fit. Well done Saints. Great day out!
  23. Im not so sure any investors waiting in the wings would be quite so keen to invest following administration and -9 points, relegation a near certainty having such a poor squad (by PL standards) but hey, lets just enjoy it while we can
  24. Will do mate. Result permitting I shall be there for the usual Sat night gloat afer the game 2mrw.
  25. Totaly agree with you Phil, although a certain pub in Salisbury wouldn't be so much fun without the skates to take the p**s out of. Good to see you Tues, if only briefly.
