  1. Discovered on Saturday. I thought I had pneumonia after the rain in southend but I have swine flu. Well according to the NHS Taking tamiflu now. Only problem I have with the flu is I cannot return back to the north of Scotland to later in the week as BA will not ley me travel (NHS ruling) sensible i might add. Im tempted to string the symptoms on till next sunday so I can see another saints game. I have never pulled a sickie before but this bug is pretty horrible and BA will only let me travel if they feel Im 100% ok Any comments should I wait till Im 100% fit before I return home? Throwing a sickie is not an option for me
  2. West End you must have been just yards away from me at southend. I think the song will be a huge hit for us fans. Its a really catchy tune even more pertinent to the referal of Matt Le Tiss. Seems Rickie and Matt use the same dietician for their food intake
  3. Just watched the youtube footage, Which game was he at. When they equalised the Southend just erupted. His fish tank was making more noise that the whole southend fans who were in attendance. One other observation. There mascots , The must be the worst mascots in the whole football league. An eel and as for the shrimp looked more like a vibrator left under the grill.
  4. Well What a miserable night weatherwise in Southend. Southend is a bit of ****hole and as for the Guest House I stayed in, well it made fawlty towers look like a palace. If anybody is planning to stay in Southend avoid the terrace. It has a shower but no hot water!! Its the first time I have been to Roots hall, The only good part I guess was being able to stand throughout the match without some officious steward telling us to sit down or be ejected, I was stood two rows back from the right hand post. It brought the memories flooding back of when I was younger standing behind the goals in both the archers and milton end. My fellow fans were fantastic with the constant singing and chants, Keeping the AP army chant going for so long was impressive before the lads directly in fromt of me burst into the Ricky Lambert chant Absolutely brilliant. As for the match much has been written already. Its interesting the views on the schiderlins incident. I thought it was a penalty but I thought he was clipped by another player before actually he went down, Talking of Schniders, Even the southend announcer had trouble saying his name. The one observation I would make on the second half which I found frustrating was we just sat back and defended with 5 in midfield. I had a number of anxious moments when they kept pumping the ball into our area, If they had scored we could well have gone on and lost the plot. AP should have given instruction for the forwards to go on the attack. At least to give us away fans something to cheer. It wasnt till the end that we created a couple of chances although papa should have made it 4 but somehow their GK was able to keep it out after a great pass by Rickie Lambert. There is one person I want to mention and that was one of their stewards who engaged in friendly banter with some of our fans. And they shooks hands with him at the end of the game . Brilliant stuff . Theres no place for gestapo like stewards.
  5. The Rickie Lambert song was brilliant lastnight. Thanks to the lads directly in front of me for keeping it going
  6. Im not suprised at this signing afterall Weston mentioned it at the weekend that he had heard he was training with us. Lets hope he keeps fit. will be a terrific signing if he keeps fit
  7. Im suprised that he got such a high % vote. I thought he was out of sorts. I think he 2nd he got was very fortunate as it seemed to go in from a rebound from a clearence off his shins. Still a wins a win. For me thats a 100% return on my first visit to SMS this season. Shame I have to go home on Sunday weather permitting,
  8. The lights may not affect the players but I did notice the sudden brief surge of light being emmitted from the TV screens,. I probably noticed it more as it was a dire night weather wise as well as the football. The young lad behind us made me chuckle particularly the comments re the ref and spec savers. Cleary he is destined for great things in the northam X factor vocal competition:rolleyes:
  9. Two additional points firstly did AP sudden departure from the club lastnight on other busines have anything to do with trying to lure George Burley back as DOF. just to Keep Happy Chappy Alpine happy? Also Alpine your first names not Geoff by any chance? The other point I want to raise was the lighting at SMS or more two the point the giant TVs. I thought the flood lighting was pretty poor but could help notice that everytime the Skandia ad and Flybe ads were on there was a surge of bright light in the ground then back into a dismal light. I wonder how much this affected the players especially as there were so many hi balls played. I don't know if this sudden surge of bright white light from these two ads affected the players but it started to irritate me. Did anyone else notice
  10. My second home game in a couple of days, and 100% record. We started well but suddenly we went to sleep. lost our shape and direction Playing with 5 midfielders is not the way to play. we become to stagnant playing defensively and we are easy to be picked off with the big hoof over the midfiled set up. We need to boss the whole game from the first minute. be first to the ball first to pass and above all else keep the ball on the ground and possession this tactic of keeping the ball up in the air is not helping our smaller lads get control of it. Still a wins a win and for that reason I am pleased. I thought the referee was awful seem to blow for the most lightest of touches on a torquay play but gave very little to lambert wo was constantly being held or pushed by his various markers.
  11. I for one enjoyed the game, geting to SMS to use my season ticket for the first time. Sitting alongside two esteemed forum posters also made the game even more satisfying. It was a good win and we could easily have added to the tally. There were some good all round performances from the team. Llanana , Mellis and lambert were excellent. Papa is a good tricky player and when hes adjusted to the league 1 pace I predict a very good future for Papa. There is clearly a great team spirit amongst all the lads which is refreshing to see. So many clubs have players that are only interested in their own ego and not the team or the club. I can understand taking Adam, Ricky and Papa off for the final few minutes but I would have put Saggers on, as basically we sudenly didnt have a potent strike force. OK Im being a bit harsh but sometimes maintaing a potent attacking option is more effective than defending . At least we had the safety of a 3 goal lead and not a one goal lead. I even forcast a 4 -1 result. either it was a lucky guess or I need to start playing the lottery. Looking forward to the tuesday game and then the Southend game. I will look out for you at the Southend game Ladysaint
  12. If the skakes are to be sponsored by Tampax, I bet there are strings attached!
  13. What we need is stability at this club not the usual cohorts sugesting Pardews sacking. I acnnot belive some of you for even suggesting it. We will be fine, the club are gelling together it will take a bit of time. I was impressed with the team at carlise. Its counter pruductive calling for the managers head month after month Marcus and Nicole have the right man in charge. The really good times are just round the corner. So for the ultra negative mob you are in a very small minority, put yourself pity to one side and get behind the team and manager for a change.
  14. We need another to give ourselves a chance. Proxy post for Alpine

  22. The Glasgow Brothel The madam opened the brothel door in Glasgow and saw a rather dignified,well- dressed, good-looking man in his late forties or early fifties. "May I help you sir?" she asked.. "I want to see Soraya, Glasgow's most celebrated courtesan," the man replied. "Sir, Soraya is one of our most expensive ladies. Perhaps you would prefer someone else", said the madam. "No, I must see Soraya," he replied. Just then, Soraya appeared and announced to the man she charged £5000 a visit. Without hesitation, the man pulled out five thousand pounds and gave it to Soraya, and they went upstairs. After an hour, the man calmly left..... The next night, the man appeared again, once more demanding to see Soraya. Soraya explained that no one had ever come back two nights in a row, as she was so expensive. There were no discounts. The price was still £5000. Again, the man pulled out the money, gave it to Soraya, and they went upstairs. After an hour, he left. The following night the man was there yet again. Everyone was astounded that he had come for a third consecutive night, but he paid Soraya and they went upstairs. After their session, Soraya said to the man, "No one has ever been with me three nights in a row. Where are you from?" The man replied, " Edinburgh " "Really", she said. "I have family in Edinburgh " "I know." the man said. "Your sister died, and I'm her solicitor. I was instructed to deliver your £15,000 inheritance in person." The moral of the story is that three things in life are certain..... 1. Death 2. Taxes 3. Being screwed by a lawyer
