Christine many of the points you raise are valid. Some Trade union stewards are so entrenched in supporting their members whatever the issue. They still see any indiscretion by their members as an optunity to slate manegement. Some are good and you can resolve matters through off the record dicussions but sadly there are to few and want to blame management or challenge them at all costs. Dealing with ineffeciency is another problem Yes you can have fair and agreed procedures in place but when the employee goes running to an ET. The common sense and fairness aspect of how the employer has dealt with the situation goes out of the window. Instead legalistical arguments take precedence. Yes there are some very bad employers but there are far more bad employees making claims for trivial matters for which they are responsible for. Employment law has become to complicated with some laws all but Cancelling out the man on the no Clapham omnibus concept ( A resonable educated and intelligent person with no specialist knowledge) who that Lord Greer and Later Lord Dennison used in their employment judgements . Bringback common sense .

I like Alan Pardew he is a good manager and I for one do not want him to leave. Stability is the answer Also if like some of the ghouls on here who want to see his head on a plate. Have you thought of the potential damage it would do to the Club. I suspect either a lower premiership side or championship side would snap him up if he left. but heres the bottom line if he did go he would take all his background staff and also would be in the market to take our better players to the club he potential could go to. Look at Redkrapp and the amount of players he has taken to spurs, Avan grant , Gordan Strachen etc So its not just a manager we would lose but various players. Watch Aston Villa now O'neill has gone

Stay in valleta and the three towns close , lots of culture there. also go to medina well worth a visit and the towns nearby make sure you go on the local buses they have lots of history as well. and they all arrive and depart from a huge terminus near the entrance to the walled part of vallleta Oh the food is disappointing avoid the rabbit!

I have just seen the cartoons on son of bobs thread. I did see that the herald is part of the echo consortium so maybe thats the reason their photographer was not allowed in
-
Probably the funniest thing I've seen in ages!
Viking Warrior replied to Son of Bob's topic in The Saints
Very good cartoons But is the banning of the Herald more to do with the new group who are part of the Echo group by any chance -
Dune I think you are wrong about public sector pensions. yes there are those at the very top and civil servants who get a huge whack however those in the lower paid jobs and middle range jobs get small pensions . if you think 15K a year pension is a lot for 43 years service then you have not done your full homework . Oh Teachers do well out of pensions but they are a law unto themselves. Where the public sector should cut costs is to revisit the generous sickpay that is on offer. 6 months full pay and sicks months half pay for someone with 5 years service, and they only have to be at work ashort while before they go back to 6 full and 6months half pay. The public sector wuld save billions and I mean billions if the were more aggressive in dealing with sickness absence and reducing sickness allowance thugh the unions would get very upset at this. Yes there is genuine sickness but most of the ones I deal with are conning so and so's

I wouldnt be suprised if NC had his staff auditing the service and standard of food that was being delivered to us the fans. He did take notice of our concerns hence the reason for changes. I would not be suprised if he has not already been in touch with the senior managers of the catering company concerned. I know this is the saintsweb and in many cases a forum to moan . but surely somone of my fellow posters enjoyed their pies and beer How did you find the service compared to last year. And those that were eating dodgy pies have you spoken to your enviromental health inspectors?

I watched the game in Mcgintys Bar - Union Street Aberdeen First half was really good and I wasnt suprised at Arglye second half tactics. In the first half the cameras kept focussing on Peter reid making copious notes and bellowing instructions or looking genuinely annoyed at his players. His half time chat clearly had the desired effect. I thought this might end 0-0 as argyle were not really looking to win the game> The boys played well but they do need to be more creative when teams prevent us from playing. careful and patience build up needs to be installed in players heads. I felt they were rushing and panicking into trying to get the equaliser when a bit more composure should have been the order of the second half after they scored against the run of play. The Amstel beer was pretty good mind

I agree there should be transparency but then when we have tried to have transparency in the past then all sorts of groups /fans have a differing view of what transparency actually is. Look at the SISA/ Trust/ or whoevers view point it is. This is what actually clouds the concept of transparency Icidently Miny have you been affected by the photographers ban by any chance?

I read about Philips and antonnio on the saintslist this morning. long before it was reported on here. The poster seemed to indicate that it had come form another forum. I assumed that it was from this forum but seemingly not. It would be good if true but until it happens I will take it with a pinch of salt. what happened to vassel and that skate clown who was going to join us did they not originate from betfair?

Alpine is right , The judiciary are at fault and so weak willed. Play the victim card and you will always win. lets see how much huntley gets as compensation. He should get the same QC on to his case the slimy cheats used. So is it true I can screw the HMRC by having my image rights in an off shore account. also what about the charity and the small caterer who is only getting 20p in the pound when these prima donna stars are going to get the full whack Sol bloody campbell and co I hope yur all pleased with yourself how about donating your windful to charity.
